Yes, my Renewal version is suffering from some yellowing. Also, the camera is always gonna show plastic and metal parts looking a bit different colour, compared to how they look in person.
-
Still haven't transformed my new Revival version yet, or added the armour, as no time. 😅 But here's a few quick comparison pics in fighter mode with the new and old versions. My older glossy Renewal version is suffering from a bit of yellowing. I really, love the look of the matt finish on the new Revival version and personally think it looks even better in person, compared to the photos which don't really do it justice.

Artists styles definitely evolve (or in some cases devolve) over the years. I've been following some comic book artists since the 70s and 80s and there is often a huge change between their early works and later works.

I haven't even touched the armor, or transformed the toy yet, but just quickly comparing the new matt version in fighter mode side by side against my older glossy and slightly yellowed VF-25S, I have to say the newer version looks light years better in my opinion with the matt grey plastic. I haven't done a detailed comparison of paint applications, but just zooming it around in my hand for a couple of hours last night while watching TV with my wife, I didn't notice anything glaringly wrong with it.

Yep, confirmed it's out here in Hong Kong. I just picked up one from the toy store near my office, during my lunch break.

Sad that my beloved VF-17D/S Nightmare never got any love from Hasegawa.😭 I also would have loved to see Hasegawa do a VF-19F/S.
-
Ah, was wondering where the review had gone. 😅
-
I've bought 4 so far. Trying to do my bit, to make sure we get more Macross 7 HMR toys. 😅
-
Wow, just wow.

For the DX VF-19 Fire Valk and follow on DX VF-19F/S, there are 2 things I hope: 1) Bandai don't use the stupid folding front landing gear from the DX VF-19 Advance / DX YF-19. Always hated that as it's fiddly to get in and out and the hinge joint gets loose after a while and collapses easily. 2) for a potential future VF-19F/S I hope Bandai manage to make the GU-15 Gunpod front end the correct size like Yamato and Arcadia did, rather than using the skinny front end from the DX VF-19 Advance / DX YF-19, which is one of my pet peeves as it never looks right to me.
-
Also agree. I've come to really enjoy HMR.
-
I think our best bet for a good looking VF-11MAXL is in Bandai's 1/100 scale, HG Shortcut Change line.

I'm a huge Macross 7 fan, have probably watched it a dozen times since it was first released in 94. I've bought all the toys, CDs art books etc. However, stangely I've never had a burning desire for toys of the VF-11MAXL and VF-17T Kai. I've always been far more interested in owning toys of the VF-17D/S, VF-19F/S, VF-11C/D/Full Armor, VF-22S, Fz-109F/A,

I hope this is not vapourware. I'd definitely buy 2 or 3. And I would hope for a VF-5000B variant, although that would require some retooling of the lower legs from Arcadia.
-
Agree......as long as it's just warning markings, numbers, Emerald Force squadron logo etc. I just don't want Bandai adding random extra, never before seen stripes all over the VF, like they did with the DX YF-21.
-
Super disappointed no new HMRs announced.😭 But still excited for the DX Fire Valk.........Hopefully they will really go ahead and make it.
-
I so hope Bandai do a DX VF-19F and VF-19S so I can make Emerald Force. I mean I've still got my old Yamato's but but they are getting a bit loose in places and I really have to baby the elbow joints as some of them have small cracks. And the tampo printed markings on the Bandai Fire Valk look great, not too excessive like on the DX YF-19 & YF-21.
-
I've gotta say that even though I just recently bought the Arcadia VF-19 Fire Valk, as my old Yamato versions had all broken elbows, I'm actually as a huge Macross 7 fan super excited for a Bandai DX version. Of course, as a Macross 7 fan I'd be even more excited for a Bandai DX or HMR VF-17D/S (my all time favorite VF.....Gamlin rules!), a VF-19S/F and VF-22S Max & Millia.
-
I'll buy at least two of these, but I'm more exited about potential VF-19F/S/P versions. The VF-19F/S Blazer Valks are one of my top favorite VFs after the VF-17D/S Nightmare.
-
I bloody well hope not! It's so poorly implemented in both the Arcadia and Bandai versions of the YF-19 toy, which causes several issues. And more importantly, the VF-19 Fire Valk, was never shown in the anime has having a high speed mode..

My personal wish list from Bandai: HMR VF-19F/S/P. HMR VF-17D/S/T. HMR VF-11C/B/D/MAXL/Full Armored. HMR Fz-109A/F Elgerzorene. HMR VF-22S Max, Millia & Gamlin. HMR YF-19. HMR YF-21. HMR DYRL & TV type Q-Rau and N-Ger. HMR Remaining Destroids 😅 DX 1/48 DYRL VF-1A Hikaru Super. DX 1/48 VE-1 Elint Seeker. DX 1/48 DYRL VF-1S Focker Strike Valk. DX 1/48 TV VF-1A Cannon Fodder. DX 1/48 VF-1J Max & Milia DX 1/60 VF-31AX Arad. DX 1/60 VF-31AX Chuck. DX 1/60 VF-22S Max, Milia & Gamlin.

Likely to be released on or after 21st November I think.

So cute!

Hahaha. As I wrote that from the office. And the book is at home.😝
