  1. As long as it locks together well, is not a froppy mess, and doesn't self-destruct ala the 171, I'll be happy just to finally get a transforming VF-2SS toy after 23 years of waiting. Even though the sculpt is not perfect. I'm not gonna nit pick too much.
  2. checks in, still no pics of new Valks or new characters, checks out.
  3. 1) No ankle ball joints. 2) Cheaper MSRP. 3) More tampo printing. 4) Smaller boxes. 5) Standing pilot and crew figures.
  4. Back in the day, I often purchased 3 or 4 or certain models, so that I could display one in each mode and have one as a spare in case of any breakage. I've stopped buying multiples for quite a while and now I'm only buying singles and only of ones I really liked. I've even stopped buying every release like I used to, I skipped the RVF-171, Arcasia VF-19Kai, the Percival and the VF-0D. The only coming release that might tempt me to by two is the VF-2SS. Graham
  5. Shouldn't the thread title be changed, as it's kinda way past January.......LOL
  6. Saw it yesterday with my son. Thought it was OK, but not as good as the first Avengers movie. Much darker and kinda depressing in places. Don't think I'll watch it again at the cinema, but I'll probably end up buying the Blu-ray. Out of recent Marvel movies, I enjoyed Guardians of the Galaxy and Winter Soldier more. Graham
  7. I got the same delayed until June notice from CD Japan as well.
  8. I threw out all 4 of my 171 in disgust about 6 months ago (2 x CF & 2 x Alto).

    Sunwards Valkyries

Now there's a name I've not heard in a long while. Heh, and I think I wrote the text for that flyer, apart from the copyright notice. IIRC, the best friend of Yamato's CEO was going to be put in charge of Sunwards. Graham
  10. Yeah, first movie was fresh and fun. The sequels, I literally can't sit throgh them withough nodding off. Happens everytime I try, i'm soon.....zzzzzzzzzzzzz.
  11. As we are getting close to the release date, I'm hoping Bandai will release some new publicity photos soon of the final production item. Graham
  12. So excited for this. I think Comander Wolffe may also be with Rex. I think I spotted a clone with one eye there as well. Have to rewatch the trailer again (for the umpeenth time). This trailer for season 2 excited me just as much as new Force Awakens trailer. This is going to be a great year for Star Wars fans. Graham
  13. Possible those tabs sticking out of the top of the battroid's chest plate may be able to retract in and they just forgot to retract them for the photo shoot. Graham
  14. What issue?????
  15. This is a must buy for me, I've wanted a perfect variable toy of the VF-2SS since first watching Macross II in 1992. I don't care that it doesn't look 100% lineart accurate, it looks good enough and close enough to me. Heck my favourite Macross toy is still the 1/65 Bandai VF-17D/S, which is far from anime accurate, but is just so rugged and fun and quick and easy to transform. Anyway, I don't see any other company tackling the VF-2SS. Graham
  16. While I loved the original Tron movie as a kid, I felt Tron Legacy was pretty meh. When I finally got round to watching it on DVD, it took me three evenings to finish it, as the first two evenings watching it it put me to sleep. Not really keen to see a Tron 3. Graham
  17. Gonna give Aldnoah Zero a try also after I finish Knights of Sidonia. Any other recent good (real robot) mecha anime recommedations? No Gundam please. Graham
  18. Watched it with my son, we both thought it was fairly funny. Definitely had its moments, especially in the first half. I wouldn't have paid to see it, but then I didn't.....hahah. Graham
  19. Just finished the first episode of Argevollen, but really didn't enjoy it. I'll probably give it one more episode and then likely give up, unless it improves drastically. This is really mecha anime by the numbers, nothing we haven't seen done far better, many time before elsewhere. And while the mecha designs and animation is OK, the character animation is absoutely atrocious. I'm guessing the animation was farmed out to the lowest bidder. It was really jarring to me how badly the characters were animated and moved. I may be spoilt, because I just watched the gorgeoulsy animated Knights of Sidonia before watching this steaming pile of horse dung. Graham Up to episode 9 on Knights of Sidonia and loving everything about it so far, the story, the animation, the mecha, the characters, the combat. It's so fresh. Graham
  20. I think it was pretty much a given that Kawamori would be doing the mecha designs. I don't know about anybody else, but it never even crossed my mind that there was a possibility that someone else would do the mecha designs. Graham
  21. Haven't watched any new anime since Macross Frontier, there's seriously been nothing that even looked remotely interesting to me. However, I've finally decided to give Knights or Sidonia and Argevollen a try. Graham
  22. Regarding the stormtrooper kit, are all the black bits that should be black actually black? I mean like the eye lenses, mouth vents etc. Or do they need painting? Graham
  23. Hoping for some firm news soon, such as pics of the mecha designs. We've never been let down by the music of Macross, so a singer is a singer is a singer as far as I'm concerned But I wanna see how the VFs look. Graham
  24. KInda disapointed the X-wing kits were not completely pre-coloured. I would have loved a detailed X-wing kit I could have just snapped together that looked good, that didn't require painting. Weren't the old Bandai Star Trek kits completely pre-coloured? Graham
