  1. Either Arcadia are trying to cheap out and cut costs. Or they really don't have enough money to afford the Tampo printing
  2. Cough, cough, this thread needs more shapeways
  3. i've got absolutely nothing against having a racially or internationally diverse cast, as long as the casting stays true to the written source material as far as practical. My myself, I prefer to have movie adaptations of comics or books be as faithful to the source material as possible. So if a comic or book character is black, have him or her portayed by a black actor, if he or she is Chinese, have him/her potrayed by a Chinese actor, if he/she's white have them have them portrayed by a white actor etc. Just my two cents.
  4. Not being racist, but hasn't Johnny Storn AKA The Human Torch always been a white surfer type dude? Just wondering what is the rationale behind the change. Hope it's not just a case of the studio wanting to be more politically correct. And honestly this version of the thing looks like a pile of walking poo. I'm not seeing anything in the trailers that makes me want to see this movie at all. Graham
  5. To be honest, the difficulty of attaching the FAST Packs in fighter mode and the free hanging tab doesn't bother me with the Bandai. As I never attach the FAST packs in fighter mode anyway with the 19, regardless of whether it's the Yamato, Arcadia or Bandai version. I far prefer the look of the YF-19/VF-19 Advance Fighter mode without FAST Packs. I do apply them in battroid mode though. Graham
  6. While I love a good bug hunt, some Valk on Valk action would be great for the new series. Graham
  7. I'd love an armoured VF-11C
  8. VF-19 Advance in low-vis grey = instant buy. YF-29 in low-vis grey, like the pic above = instant buy. VF-2SS with SAP = instant buy. VF-2JA = instant buy. Not much else I want at the moment. That Plaid / Tartan YF-29 was just stupid. The Macross 30 game designers were really not even trying by that point and had seriously run out of ideas for cool color schemes............urghhhhh Graham
  9. I'll PM you, as I don't want to hijack the topic away from the VF-0 toys.
  10. Dunno why, I just can't get excited about the Arcadia Mac Zero toys, even the reactive armor. I think the Arcadia YF-19 turned me off Arcadia in general a bit. The only Arcadia mac Zero toy that I might be able to muster some mild interest for is the cannon fodder VF-0A. Seems Bandai and Evolution have grabbed all my Macross interest recently. Graham
  11. At the moment, there is only about a milimeter of material connecting those tabs to the chest plate and its an obvious point for a stress fracture as is. Whether you handle it roughly or as gente as a newborn, it will be a case of "when" not "if that tab breaks, unless Evolution reinforce it.
  12. Besides being ugly, my main concern with the chest tabs in their current design is that the look like a break point just waiting to happen. The rectangular tag really needs to be extended down longer and lower, so that there is more of it on the back of the chest plate.
  13. Thanks to Tochiro for the great new photos. Definitely keeping my two preorders. Nothing surprising with the information they gave Tochiro, pretty much standard for a small Japanese toy company (especially one dabbling in Macross......hahahaha). Graham
  14. Saw this yesterday on a spur-of-the-moment decsion with the wife and son. Orginally wasn't planning to watch it as I thought the trailer looked crap. However, was pleasantly suprised and ended up really enjoing the movie. Far preferred it to Age of Ultron. Graham
  15. So, I'm guessing no further news or pics from WonderFest?
  16. I'd love a repaint of this in low-vis grey. Heck, I'd be happy if it came without the packs and stand, just the bare Valk with gunpod and maybe some wing missiles instead.
  17. Yep, same for me. can't wait to get this, warts and all.
  18. I feel that magnets just by themself, even neodymium magnets would not be an ideal solution for attaching a SAP. Even with stong rare-earth magnets, you still need at least some small slots and pegs to position the SAP parts and stop them from shifting position when being handled. Just my two cents.
  19. Ha, I just noticed the red hybrid sensors on the nose are spring loaded. Graham
  20. I'm hoping we do get a SAP someday, as the VF-2SS with SAP is one of my all time favorite looking space fighters.
  21. Also, I'll say what I said a few pages back. This VF-2SS toy from Evolution absolutely does not appear to be designed with any SAP attachment points. There's no slots, holes, pegs, tabs etc at all in evidence for connecting a SAP to. So I sincerely doubt that Evolution is planning to release a stand-alone SAP that can attach to the VF-2SS. So all of you expecting and hoping for a SAP accessory are likely to be dissapointed. What I think will happen is that if the toy sells well enough, Evolution will modify the tooling and release a revised version including a SAP (that may or may not be removable, depending on how ambitious they feel). Graham
  22. I bugged Yamato for years and years to make a VF-2SS with SAP, but they always said the show was too unpopular, hardly anyone liked it or knew about it, toy wouldn't sell, etc, etc, blah blah. And also that Kawamori-San would get pissed if they made one (dunno it that was really true though). Graham
  23. As I've said before, if you want the chance of more VF-2SS toys (or Mac II toys), support and buy this. If you don't care about ever getting any more Mac II toys, then don't buy it. The Japanese manufacturers need to see that there is a demand for these. As Kevin Costner said, "you pay in advance, they will come" (or something like that) In the end, the number or orders talks.
  24. Yawn.........someone wake me up when there are some mecha pics.
