  1. Looking forward to this, if only for the one-liners and Desert Eagle action.
  2. Trying to stop myself from buying the Black Series TIE/SF. It just looks so awesome. I'd have to keep it at work though, wife would go ballistic if I bought such a huge toy home. Still, my resistance is weakening. Graham

    Bandai DX VF-31

Gotta say the VF-31 has really grown on me and it's now my most anticipated Valk toy of 2016, more so than the VF-2SS and the Sv-262. Graham
  4. Now that the Faerie Squadron version with SAP has been announced, I Cut my pre-order of the Silvie version from two pieces down to one piece. Graham
  5. Yea If you read back through the last several pages of this thread and also the Delta technology thread, we have actually been discussing and deconstructing the abilities of Walkure and the multi-drones.
  6. Looks like they don't have the standard gunpod stored in the arm SAP pack, as per the lineart. Graham (pic from Macross Mecha Manual)
  7. A bad YouTube video is not the best way to watch and appreciate it. Download a decent quality version.
  8. Love the Bandai First Order Storm Trooper kit. Just put one together for my son. No need to paint it at all, apart from the blaster and the stun tonfa thingie.
  9. Because as well as anti-grav drives, holographic projectors, spotlights and ultra-fast recharge batteries, the boomerang drones obviously have advanced pin-point barrier systems, which individually may not protect that large an area, but when combined together with the barriers from other nearby boomerangs drones, the barrier effect is likely strengthened and magnified. As depicted in the episode, stopping such a heavy attack drains the drones batteries far quicker. Perhaps the drones have some sort of advanced sensors and can detect the strength of the incoming attack and adjust the barrier strength accordingly, although at the cost of greater battery drain. Ot Mikumo was able to order the drones to increase barrier strength to maximum. My theory is one drone by itself is relatively weak, but work multiple drones working together in close proximity, the effect is multiple and enhanced.
  10. I took that scene to imply that Messer is a crap-hot combat pilot and gunfighter and he shot all those 4 Zentradi Mecha that were surrounding him with his arm guns. Although that scene is obscured by images of the Walkure girls faces, there does appear to be muzzle flashes visible before the mecha all fall down and then Messer slightly lowers his arms as the mecha fall down.

I wonder if there will be different letter designations assigned for the various models, e.g. "A, D. S, E, F, J" etc., to signify different head types.
  12. Yeah, so do I.
  13. I think as long is there is a reasonable and logical in-universe explanation given at some point for the Walkure girls abilities, such as either advanced Ex-Gear suits and/or cybernetic implants, then I can accept them much more easily. In Frontier, especially in the Frontier movies, Grace and Emo-Belly-Button-Boy-Ranka's-Brother (forgot his name....hahah) had strength and agility similar to what we are seeing from the Walkure Girls. As for the showy performance, magical girl transformation, dancing VF-31s etc, I'm guessing that part of Walkure/Delta's mission is not only to cure Var Syndrome through song, but also to keep up morale of the civilian population, hence the showmanship for morale boosting in these troubling times. Still find it strange though as the Var Syndrome only affects Zentradi (that we know so far), you would think NUNS would order the Zentradi garrison to move away from the civilian population center as a proactive, protective measure.

If I could only afford to buy one toy from Delta, it would be D02, which would be kept in fighter mode.
  15. Anybody know anyway I can stop my Android phone from defaulting to the mobile version of the Macrossworld Forums on opening? I prefer viewing the full version on my 5" phone and it's a nuisance having to manually switch back to the full version each time.

Hey, Mermen need some love too.........LOL
  17. Also "Chuck" as in Chuck Yeager, record-setting test pilot and retired brigadier general in the USAF. Graham

My favorites in order (Best to worst) are: D02 - Really like the subdued colors and the Grim Reaper emblem. Not really digging the head turret though. Toy will be displayed in fighter mode. D03 - I'm a sucker for radome VFs. Toy will be displayed in fighter mode with radome open and with the wing FAST packs attached (if we get them). D05 - Love the head design. Overall color scheme is not bad apart from the red, wish they'd lose that. Toy will probably be displayed in fighter mode. D01 - Love the head and the emblem, but not really a huge fan of the overall color scheme. Toy will probably be displayed in battroid mode. D04 - Despite it being Mirage's VF, I really don't like the purple color scheme. I may not buy this one.
  19. I suspect the markings and insignia will be added by the time the series airs in April.

    Bandai DX VF-31

As I stated previously in the NYE talkback thread........... I think the current pod is not just a recharge system for the boomerangs, but also an ejectable gunpod or beamgunpod. Note when deployed the pod splits into two sections, the boxy structure on the right being the wireless recharge system for the boomerangs. However, the long part on the left looks like some sort of gunpod. If you look at the attached pics there seems to be some sort of pistol grip, which I've marked with an arrow. I'm guessing it's some sort of heavy beam cannon that can be fired when the pod is extended and perhaps the gunpod can be ejected into the hand of the VF-31. This would seem to be born out by the Figure-Oh magazine cover. Graham
  21. I'm getting more onside with each watching of the 0.89 prologue episode. I've gone from originally being negative when I listened to the podcast, to neutral when I watched the raw, to cautiously optimistic after watching the subbed version a few times. As long as the TV series has a lot of dogfights, explains the technology behind Walkure's abilities, doesn't overuse the magical girl transformation or dancing VF-31s scenes too often and they kill off some of the characters, I'm sure it will be fine.
