  1. Those are so cute. I've asked a friend who is currently visiting Japan to try and get me a set.
  2. Interesting.
  3. So, I just picked up the VFG VF-31A from one of the hobby shops near my office It's my Christmas present to myself and gonna be my Christmas holiday project build. I've never attempted one of these VFG kits before.
  4. Looking great in that video. I'd forgot how good the VF-25 looks with Tornado Packs.
  5. I will say my 2 x Revival VF-25S have nice tight hip and shoulder joints. Of course, I'm sure these will gradually loosen after time, especially with the extra weight of the attached armor. But out of the box, they are nice and tight.
  6. I'll check tonight when home.
  7. I'm not going to dismiss GQuuuuuuX out of hand. I'll at least give the GQuuuuuuX anime a try and watch the first few episodes (or the movie (?) they announced) and hopefully it will draw me in. But to be honest I'm not digging what I've seen so far of the mecha designs. Each to his own, but they don't appeal to my personal taste. So, as of now, I can't see myself buying any toys or models from this show, based on what's been presented so far. But saying that, despite not initially liking the mecha designs from The Witch from Mercury, I actually ended up liking the first cour of the series and buying some of the toys. However, I lost interest in the second cour of The Witch from Mercury. Not a fan of this recent anime trend of splitting anime into two cours with several months break in between, There been a few anime recently where I liked the first cour, but by the time the second cour was released, I'd moved on to something else and lost interest, either due to the long break between cours or just because I felt the second cour was subjectively worse. This happened to me with both The Witch from Mercury and Kyokai Senki. Anybody else have that issue with split cour anime?
  8. To this day, the Bandai 1/65 VF-17D/S toys, both original release and reissue are still among my favorite Macross toys.
  9. It's a fairy big box, but from the two I bought and carried home, the actual weight is definitely not that heavy as 2.6kg/5.73lbs. But you have to realise that many shipping companies/couriers, such as UPS, DHL, FedEx etc., calculate shipping charges based on volumetric weight of the shipping box, not on actual weight. Volumetric weight (depending on box size), will often be higher that actual physical real world weight.
  10. Just picked this up at lunch, as an impulse buy from the new hobby shop that just opened near my office, for HK$1,680 (approx US$216). Is it a reasonable price? 🤔
  11. Both hobby shops within walking distance from my office have websites and both have the Revival VF-25S with Armor Pack on the shelves as of today. I just visited both shops during my lunch break today, to physically confirm they have stock. However, their websites show no stock. 😅 If you want to try your luck and contact them, here are the links: https://www.hobbylandeshop.com/ https://animes-pro.com/ But I think both shops are geared to local sales to people in HK, rather than export sales to overseas customers.
  12. Apart from the old Takatoku/Bandai 1/55 and 1/100 toys from the 80s, in 38 years of living in Hong Kong since I moved here in my late teens, I've yet to see a fake or knock-off of a recent Bandai Macross DX, HM or HMR toy in Hong Kong.
  13. Picked up my second one. Both physical hobby shops near my work have these sitting on the shelves since last week.
  14. It's not completely matt like the Revival VF-25S. The armor is more kinda semi-gloss I'd say, or kinda looks like matt plastic but with a semi-gloss clear coat sprayed on top. 😅
  15. I'm still hoping for a high quality OVA of Gundam Sentinel one day, although due to the licencing mess with that it will probably never happen. A nicely animated Crossbone Gundam TV series would be my second choice.
  16. After the disappointments of most of the recent live action Star Wars shows, I actually found myself enjoying the first 2 episodes of Skeleton Crew.
  17. Nosecone on mine is fine. I finally got around to transforming it to Battroid mode on Saturday and adding the armor.
  18. I wonder if they have just recycled the tooling from the YF-19 DX wings. Need to compare the panel lines in this pic against the toy.
  19. Same, I would buy a lot of VF-17D/S as it's my favorite VF.
  20. Hey, don't give Bandai ideas! 😆
  21. I'm pretty sure the canopy is clear with no purple tint, but I'll double check when I'm back home tonight. Sorry, I'm at work now and only have the armor in the office with me. The VF-25S is back at home. Still trying to figure out a way to smuggle the armor passed the wife!😅😂
  22. If nobody had pointed out the overspray issue on the yellow stripes, I doubt I would have even noticed it.😅 I'm a lot more forgiving of minor issues in my old age, compared to when I was younger. Plus, I don't always wear my glasses at home, so it's more difficult to see these small errors. 🤣
  23. I just checked the marking on mine, it's ok thankfully.
  24. As others have mentioned, there is a bit of overspray on the yellow markings on the new release. Personally it doesn't bother me though. Honestly, I'm just happy to have a non-yellowed VF-25S again!
