My ep # 3 DVD just arrived by EMS from CD Japan, so I'll be watching it as soon as I get home in about another 8 hours Graham

I'm guesing you live somewhere humid? I'd really recommend spending the money and buying a dehumidifier. I keep my toy display case, books and computer all in one room and have a dehumidifier in there to protect them. This is absolutely essential during HK's humid summer months. Graham

I finally met with the T-shirt guy today and he's going to get a sample made up soon. I still need a final list of chest sizes from all you guys who are coming. I've met Sebastian & Noel previously, so I know they are both fairly similar in size to myself. So we three will probably need a HK large size (bearing in mind that HK sizes are typically much smaller than US sizes). A HK large is probably the same as a US medium. However, I really need to know the size of some of you larger guys, i.e. Shawn and others?, so I can let the manufacturer know what size to make the XL and XXL shirts as these are not standard sizes in HK. Also, it looks like there is a minimum order quantity of around 30pcs, so as a rough guesstimate (as I don't know final sizes and quantities), I'll probably get the following made: - Small= 4pcs. (suitable for small females, e.g. this is what my wife would wear and she's 5' 3" / 95lbs). Medium = 6pcs. Large = 10pcs. (I'm 5' 8"/153lbs and this is suitable for me). XL = 6 pcs. XXL = 4pcs. By the way, those are not cannons on the arm FP, they are micro-missiles. Graham

If you look at the lineart (on page 1 of this thread), that definitely looks like an anti-personnel machine-gun mounted in the Destroid's groin (no jokes please). I'm just suprised that it's not mentioned in the Compendium's stats. Graham

Yes!!! I just received email notice from CD Japan that Macross Zero Episode 3 DVD has shipped today (27 Nov), one day early!!!!!!!!!!! Guess who's happy? As I'm having it shipped express, it may even get here tomorrow. Graham

Actually, my personal view is that kawamori went the other way with M7 and created something completely new and original, rather than taking the easy road, ala what Sunrise and Tomino mostly does with the Gundam franchise and making a clone of a clone of a clone. That's what I like about kawamori-san, he's not afraid to experiment with Macross rather than endlessly retreading the same ground. And while his results may not always please everybody, he can always be expected to take Macross in fresh new directions. Graham

Graham replied to 91WhiskeyM6's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Yeah, but you gotta shoot them with a few Speaker Pods first Graham -
Not a big fan of the G36 as it has a horrible, horrible trigger. Hopefully the new XM8 wil have a better tigger, although I doubt it asin all probability it is just a dressed up G36. Graham

When are these idiot PC crowd going to realise that it's not about banning things or prevent access to them, it's all about being responsible and teaching responsible behavior, basically being a good parent. Passing the blame for their kids bad behaviour onto inanimate objects is just avoiding the real issues. The more you ban so called violent toys, games etc, the more it makes people want them. My parents never stopped me from watching violent programs, never discouraged my interests in martial arts, weapons and firearms. Over the years, I've studied Judo, Wing Chun, Arnis, Fencing, Archery and been a very active IPSC shooter. Does this make me a violent person? I like to think I'm one of the least violent people I know. I will always go out of my way to avoid trouble. In fact the last time I got into a fight was in high school 20 years ago! I've got to say that even as a child and teenager, watching a violent movie, reading a violent comic book or playing violent video games never once made me go out and hurt or kill another person. The VF-1J has all the improvements first introduced way back on the VF-1A Max type, which include: - 1) Improved nosecone design that does not fall off so easily. 2) Improved flaps which do not come off so easily. It also has: - 3) The improved easier opening front landing gear doors, first introduced on the VF-1A Low Vis. Other changes to the VF-1J Hikaru include: - 4) Resculpted curved headrest on the pilot seat, first introduced on the VF-1S Hikaru. This change was made primarily to accomodate the TV type pilot which is larger at the rear than the DYRL pilot helmets. 5) All new Hikaru TV pilot sculpt, made of the same rubber type material first used on the Low Vis Pilot. Hikaru pilot figure has a central joystick moldedto the right hand. 6) Addition of 4 non-articulated rubber TV type hands, including: - left and right closed fist, right gunpod hand, left open hand. 7) All new resculpted TV forearms. These were done primarily to correct the shape of the elbows and make them more accurate by including the 'U' shape end profile, not beacuse of the stripe issue as tom64ss suggested. All new TV type arm FAST Packs, shorter than the DYRL versions and with an angled front profile and smaller arm missiles. 9) VF-1J FAST Packs are a lighter shade of blue than the DYRL FPs. Graham

I bought it when it first came out back when I was in my 'must buy everything Macross' phase. It was pretty stupid to buy it as I had no intention of buying a Wonderswan. Anyway, so I oen it, but I've never played it. Graham

Yamato is partly to blame as well. Their master shipping cartons could do with being much sturdier. Also, IMO the card that the 1/48 box is made of is far too flimsy. Graham

The Star Wars ep 1 & 2 parodies are also hilarious, but it's not excatly difficult to make fun of them. Graham

Stooopid toy "blacklist" soccer mom poopoo!

Heh, so I wonder what the Soccer Moms would think of Tokyo Marui's new line of 'Boys' airsoft guns aimed at 10 year olds? See here. Heck, they even use Gaijin kids in the advert Political incorrectness at it's finest! Graham -
Please refer to pinned topic above from now on. Graham

Well, you would think if they are out in Japan already, they would be showing up on Yahoo Japan auctions. So I just went to check and found only 2 auctions listing the 1/48 VF-1J. However, both auctions are only showing stock photos from the Yamato website. No box pics at all, which makes me think they are not out yet. Usually once a toy is released, you will see lots of auctions on Yahoo Japan. Graham

The 1/48 VF-1J Super is a pretty amazing toy. I think you will all love it. No QC problems, great head sculpt and pilot sculpt and the TV hands are simply amazing. They look so good. Not sure how that guy got pics for his auctions, as I'm not even sure if the toys are out in Japan yet (Monkey Nugget do you know?). I haven't seen them on any Japanese toy site yet, which is strange as some sites like Noda-ya usually update every day. The toys are not on sale in HK toy shops yet. When I checked yesterday at several branches of Animate and Kanto Hobby, they said the earliest they would be getting stock is this Friday 28th November, or possibly early next week (Mon 1st December). Well, I'm hoping we do get a new Macross TV series rather than more Escaflowne. Of course, it would be great to have more Macross to watch and something to look forward to after Zero finishes next year. And of course it also means we will get more new VF toys, model kits, music CDs and hopefully another new PS2 game based on the new series. As long as the new series features plenty of VF action and some decent music then I'll be happy. To me, Macross without VFs is not Macross. I personally thought Macross 7 Trash was very disappointing. And while I'm loving nearly everything about Macross Zero, I'm hoping a new Macross TV series would have more memorable music. Zero is the only Macross series so far where I cannot remember the music to hum or sing it Anyway, if Kawamori does a new Macross series, I'm sure that he will take it in a new direction that none of us can even guess at. I should be finalising the t shirts either this week or next, but I need to get some idea of the quantity. Graham

For those of you (like myself) who think Eva is way overated, annoying or just plain silly, here are the best parodies I have seen for some time. Be sure to read through the whole lot episode by episode. This is Thumbnail Theatre: - Eva TV. All 26 eps. End of Eva Graham

Heh, the way this thread is going maybe I need to discuss with Shawn whether we need to open a new section for Macross doll porn? Graham
-
Go on admit it, you just wanna look at pics of naked doll bodies Sheesh and I though I was bad, removing the skirt from the CM Minmay figure Graham
-
No, only two were released. Minmay in red dress and Minmay in DYRL Ai Oboete Imasuka dress. Graham

Just say NO! to live action adaptations of anime! I'm glad it got cancelled, dropped or whatever. Graham
