  1. Personally, I love the character cell animation in Mac Zero. I also love the CG Valk animation. About the only animation in Mac Zero I don't like is when they cell animate the Valks, it's just so badly done IMO, looks like something from Anime Fiend. I say keep all the VFs in Zero CG only! I'm also getting to like the BGM in Mac Zero more. I still can't remember it well enough to hum it yet, but at least my OST CD is getting more of a playing now. While I like the BGM and songs of Mac Plus, I've gotta say I also prefer the music of SDF/DYRL and Mac 7 more than Plus. Graham

    Age Check! :)

Heh, this is at least the third or fourth 'how old is everybody' thread we've had on these forums. Anyway, 34, but feel like 50. Graham
  3. Haven't really been into Star Wars since I was about 13, and that was a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. I guess my favorite is still ANH (can't beat the original), with ESB being second. Don't really care for any of the others. Graham
  4. Anything's possible, but I doubt it. Graham
  5. So I guess Monster and upgrade parts are comming. Wow, its tempting to know that the upgrades are comming. Thanks G vic Whoops, sorry my mistake no 1/60 upgrade parts AFAIK. Graham
  6. Wonder if we will ever get this here in HK? Even though it's probably really bad, I still want to see it just to see how awful it is and well, because I'm a masochist I'm still really pissed at the local TV stations for only showing up to season 4 of Babylon 5 and never showing season 5.....grrrrrrrrr. Guess I'll have to bite the bullet and buy the DVD set when it's released so I can find out what happened. Graham
  7. It's very old news. It's been know for about a year IIRC, although I forget exactly where and when it was first announced. As Harmony Gold has the uncontested worldwide licencing for Mospeada, it makes sense to market products overseas, not just limit themselves to the US market. I don't think there will be any difference between the US and Japan versions except for hopefully packing. I really hope that the Japan packing is smaller and features original art from the series rather than that awful (IMO) Tommy Yune art and those oversized book/boxes which I can't stand. Graham
  8. OK, technically they were blocked and couldn't post, but I'd forgotten to change the group profile from 'members' to 'banned'. I'd assumed that the board software would do that automatically. Anyway, I've now changed their status to banned. Graham
  9. Wohooo , at last ! someone that agrees with me I've also always thought that the VF-0 has far superior capabilities to the VF-1. Graham
  10. Actually, I've done a fair bit of ebay selling in the past and I found that Gundam merchandise can be pretty difficult to resell. The Bandai Soul of Chogokin toys sell pretty well, as do Yamato 1/48 VF-1 toys and the older Yamato Macross Plus 1/72 YF-19 & YF-21. Yamato 1/60 VF-1 are a dead item and you can hardly give them away these days Graham
  11. Q-Rau should be early 2004. As for the other two, they are definitely coming, but I'm just not sure when Graham
  12. Looking good. I'll definitely buy one, although I'll probably wait for the Japan version, which will most likely be cheaper for me here in HK, rather than importing the US version. Graham
  13. Yeah, I thought Hikaru's voice actor in the new PS2 game was pretty good. Graham
  14. I think there is a high chance that Claudia will show up and perhaps Gloval and Misa as well. As for mecha, I think we will probably see the SDF-1 in the last episode and perhaps the VF-1 as well. However, I don't know why so many people here are automatically assuming that the VF-1 will kick the SV-51's ass. Unless Kawamori redesigns the VF-1 to improve the specs, then the VF-0 is actually superior in a number of areas, at least according to the information presented on the Macross Compendium. The VF-0 has active stealth, the VF-1 does not. The VF-0 has flare and chaff launchers, the VF-1 does not. The VF-0 has ECM, the VF-1 does not. The VF-0 carries more gunpod ammo than the VF-1 (550rds vs 200 rds). The VF-0 can carry two spare gunpod magazine in the leg FAST packs. The VF-1 has no spare magazines. In fact the VF-1's gunpod cannot even be reloaded in the field and has to be taken back to base to be reloaded. The VF-0 has leg mounted atmospheric FAST packs that hold 24 micro-missiles each. the VF-1 does not. This means that including the wing missiles, the VF-0 carries more missiles than a standard VF-1 with just 12 x AMM-1. The VF-0 has better rear visibility from it's cockpit. Both the VF-0 and VF-1 have a similar max speed in atmosphere. About the only area where the VF-1 is superior to the VF-0, is of course that it has the thermonuclear turbines, giving it virtually unlimited range in the atmosphere and making it cabable of operation in space. Give the VF-0 the thermonuclear turbines and it would be superior in every way to the VF-1. Graham

    SV-51 kit?

Of course. It's scheduled for 2004. Hasegawa have had a poster up at all the recent toy/model shows in Japan saying 'SV-51, 2004' and showing a pic of Nora's SV-51. Graham
  16. Just wondering if the VF-0 is fitted with a Cyclops radar or only a conventional radar. I've also been wondering what exactly a Cyclops radar does? Graham
  17. Ahh...so there is some conversion involved first. Hmm.......guess I'll have to do some research on converting avi files to whatever format it is that VCDs are in. Anyway, both my standalone DVD players will play VCDs, as VCDs are a very popular format here in HK. Most movies get released here in both DVD and VCD format. VHS is just not released here at all, it's completey dead, as I suspect it is in most of the rest of the world. Heck even the rental shops here like Blockbuster don't have VHS to rent anymore, it's all VCD & DVD. Oh, and VCD video quality sucks. It's worse than VHS IMO. It's fine for watching dramas and chick flicks, but try watching a special effects movie or action movie and there is just too much pixilation. I've never understood why VCDs are so popular here. Well, actually, it's the low price. Graham
  18. It's a long time since I read them, but didn't the Robotech novels have Kyhron (Kamjin) adicted to Protoculture and smoking or chewing the leaves? Or am I just remembering wrongly? Graham
  19. Hmmm.....never tried burning a downloaded anime before. So let me get this straight, if I burn the downloaded Macross Zero .avi file onto a CD-R, you are saying that it will play without problems in a standalone DVD player? Graham
  20. The Manga OVA release is generally regarded as being better than the movie version, as IIRC the movie version was just a direct rip of the VHS with hard encoded subs. Graham
  21. How come there was no poll choice for 'all'? I love all Macross equally and don't really have a fixed favorite. Yes, I even love MII. Even if really pushed I couldn't decide on just one favorite, but would have to break it down between TV series, OVA and Movie, in which case my favorites would be: - Favorite Macross TV Series = Macross 7. Favorite Macross OVA = Macross Plus (this may change after I've seen all 5 eps of Zero though). Favorite Macross Movie = DYRL. Graham
  22. It will come when it comes, just be patient. As I've said before, I'd rather they took their time and get it right rather than releasea botched design. Graham
  23. The VF-1S Hikaru is my favorite 1/48, closely followed by the Low-Vis & VF-1J Hikaru. I don't know why, but I've always prefered the look of the VF-1S Hikaru over the VF-1S Focker. Anyway, it's a beautiful toy. You won't regret buying it. Graham
  24. We're all doomed I tell you. Graham
  25. Banned, they're all banned I tell you! Banned, Banned, banned! Mwahahahahahah! Graham, going ban happy.
