J-lo's ass, er.....no thanks, I hate butts that require a 'Danger Wide Load' sign. Graham

The original Dawn of the Dead is one of my all time favorite movies (in my top three), so I expect to be extremely critical of this remake. I really wish Romero could get the financial backing to make a fourth Dead movie Graham

Yes, I have gotten more into this game the more I've played it. Although at the moment, I'm so busy, I'm lucky if I can fit in 1 to 2 hours a week to play it. My biggest two gripes with this game are that there is no instant retry button if you die in a mission. It just takes too damn long cycling back through the menus to try a mission again. The other thing that really annoys me (which I have mentioned before), is that I find the characters behavior and dialog extremely childish and annoying. Whenever there is a scene with characters talking to each other, I hardly ever read/listen to what they are saying and just skip through it as fast as possible. I may be missing a lot of the character's backstory, but who cares! I bought the game to fly planes and blow crap up, not listen to a buncha whinney, angst-ridden dweebs behave in such a way that if these were real people, I would probably slap them.....hard! Anyway, I do find the game harder than the AC series. The missions are definitely more challenging, especially the ground attack missions, where sometimes you really need to think hard about how to actually complete the mission. I also love the variety of enemies, with my favorite so far being those big wheelie things. I think overall I still prefer AC4 by a slight margin, but it is close. If Delta Strike had less annoying characters and an instant retry feature then I would definitely like it more than AC4. Graham

Wow, that's great. However, it would probably look better on a runway instead of in mid-air as it looks a bit 'static' IMO. As it's in the air, it would probably look a bit better with some movement or hovering effects added. Graham

Yep, I've been killing every radar in each clump. I'll try the mission again with the F-14 then. Graham

I forget, did we ever decide what the initials PCS mean? 'PCS readings' seem to be mentioned quite a lot in Macross Zero. Graham

Wicked Ace, can I use these pics for the MW custom toy gallery? Graham

At the moment, I'm stuck on that nighttime mission where you have to fly to a city and take out all the radar sites, the ones that have blue cone-shape radar beams. I can successfully take out all the radar sites, but what the heck do you do next? I'm guessing it's something to do with the big building (space elevator?) in the center of the city, but I can't find a target and by the time I take out all the radar sites, I'm usually down to a minute or less of time. Oh, and I've been using the A-10 for this mission. Gotta love the loadout of 110 rockets! Love the A-10 and I think this is the first air combat console game I've played where the programmers have actually made the A-10's gun different to other plane's guns. In the Ace Combat series, the A-10's gun usually has the same firing sound and damage as all other guns. Oh and David, have you got the Eurofighter yet? If yes, which character gets it and what's it like to fly? Graham

How many years have you been posting here?
Graham replied to Skull 0ne's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Been here since the beginning and before that used to be a regular on alt.fan.macross Graham -
I found the easiest way to beat this mission was to use the SU-25 Frogfoot with FAE bombs. Fly high to avoid the carriers SAMs, then when you are nearly above the carrier, dive down, salvo a couple of regular missiles to take out the top launcher then drop 2 to 3 FAE bombs to take out the carrier. Then get back up high again to avoid the SAMs from the small submarines or boats or whatever they are that are lurking around. Graham

Eh, I thought it's been known for ages that the release date was pushed back. No big mystery, just Yamato were a little over-ambitious when they gave out the original release date. Getting the tooling made and the bugs ironed out takes time you know. Graham

Gahhh....these hackers are so annoying. What's the point of it? Never understood it. I bet it's some 13 year kiddie doing it as well....moron. Graham

Actually, this news already broke in the MW model forum about 5 or 6 hours ago Graham

Good catch. I think they have just gone up as I check the BW site every day or so and hadn't seen them before. Graham

Here's a pic of the Hasegawa 1/48 F-2 model kit taken from the HLJ site. Graham

Here's a page on the F-2 from F-16.net. And here's a thread on the F-2, also from F-16.net site. Graham

From what I've read online, the F-2 is basically a Japanese built F-16, with the following Japan specific changes: - A 25% larger wing area. Radar absorbent materials used on the leading edges. A longer nose to accommodate a phased-array radar. A larger tail. I'm sure there are other differences as well, probably in the avionics According to one website I read the cost is roughly 4 times that of a Block 50/52 F-16. Graham

Go to the gallery section of the Big West Macross Zero site. No lineart of the F-14, but some quite good CG pics. Graham

Although I've only been to Japan once, I did spend nearly the whole trip with Seichi showing Shawn, Noel and I round a great many toy, hobby and book shops and I've gotta say that I was surprised at how few Yamato and Bandai Macross toys were to be seen. By comparison, toy and hobby shops in Hong Kong (where I live) seem to stock far more Macross toys. Graham

I haven't really been following this situation, so I don't know what's been done or said previously, but perhaps Shawn could explain the situation to Seichi and ask him to talk with Tanmen in Japanese to try to make him see that this is a business deal which he should honor and really has nothing to do with politics. And if I understand Tanmen's view correctly, he should have no problem selling to someone from say France for example, as France did not support the war on Iraq. So perhaps the orders could be resent by a French MW member as I believe we have a few. Graham

Miyazaki's Racoon Wars Dilemma

Just found someone using this gif as an avatar at another forum. Quite funny and on topic Graham -
He iscustomizing a Yamato VF-11B, so it won't be any bigger, unless he makes bigger tailfins. Graham

To the best of my knowledge, neither Yamato or Hasegawa have been given access to CG models of the mecha from Macross Zero. All they have been given is some CG stills, e.g. side view, top view, some angled views, plus a very small quantity of lineart. Apparently Kawamori is still working on the definitive lineart, which is one of the reasons why there is no TIAS book yet and why only a couple of peices of lineart have so far been published. Graham
