Gundam................what's that? Graham
-
All I will say is that you have to take what you hear from sales reps at trade shows with a grain of salt. However, it is true that the M&Ms won't be released without FPs. Not going to comment on the other stuff though Graham

Maybe old news, but I just saw this news from Janes: - AIR FORCES NEWS FOR WEEK ENDING 20 FEBRUARY 2004 US Air Force to buy STOVL variant of fighter The US Air Force (USAF) will buy the short take-off variant of the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter and upgrade a portion of its 30-year-old A-10 Thunderbolt II fleet in order to bolster the service's ability to provide support for ground forces, according to senior USAF leaders. [Jane's Defence Weekly - first posted to http://jdw.janes.com - 13 February 2004] Personally I can't see the lame duck F-35 being much good in the close air support roll. I think it would be much better for the USAF to invest in upgrading the existing A-10 fleet or even having new A-10s built, with perhaps improved modern instrumentation and avionics. Graham

Will try to add Jung's custom 1/48 CF and Kurt's custom Enigma to the gallery tonight if I have time. However, I have a magazine update to do as well, which takes priority, so we'll see. Graham

OK, just uploaded the public debut of the Macrossworld Member Custom Toy Gallery. Please check it out and let me know if there are any broken links or other problems. Lots more custom toys to upload, but it's 10.30pm here, I'm knackered and I haven't eaten dinner yet! Oh, also finished my extremely late Yamato 1/60 VE-1 & VT-1 review as well. I've been a busy boy. More updates tomorrow. Graham

I'm not a Gundam fan and I dislike most Gundam TV series. However, I love Victory Gundam. It has a great story, characters, action and music. I also love all the mecha designs, both good guys and bad. I have all the toys, except for the big electronic V-Gundam Beam Rifle. I'm hoping that one day Bandai will release a GFF V2 Assault/Buster toy. Personally I rate Victory Gundam far higher than original MSG or even Zeta. IMO, it's certainly much better than SEED. Graham

Ya mean those squat little ugly round things. Nah, nobody would be interested in seeing those, at least nobody with any taste. Ducks for cover. Graham
-
PM me if you have a submission and I'll give an email address to send the pics to. I'll make sure to include some submission guidelines when I create the page tonight. Graham
-
Well, I've just searched through the 8 pages of the Toy forum and found 6 threads with custom toys, so I'll start with those and we'll see how it goes from there. Graham
-
At the begining, I'm just going to be searching through old posts and saving any pics I find, which I'll then resize as needed. As I mentioned earlier, if anybody wants to help me search, I'd appriciate the help. However, for future submissions, I'd like say a minimum of 6 pics (2 per mode) and a maximum of 12 pics (4 per mode) to keep it manageable. Pics should be no smaller than 600 pixels width and no larger than 1000 pixels width. I'll also need a thumbnail of each pic, with a width of 100 pixels. Graham

Err....what's a JM custom? Graham
-
OK, I'm going to start on this tonight. I'll handle the page design and uploading to the server. I should have a basic page with at least a couple of customs ready to show tonight. However, if any of you have some free time, what I need are research assistants to help me locate the URLs for the forum threads that feature toy customs. If any of you are willing to help with this to save me a bit of time, can you please post the URL in this thread. Thanks, Graham
-
Yup, of course I will list the name of each creator. And if any creator objects to their work being featured, I will of course take it down on request. Graham

I'm the toy guy, Shawn's the model guy. I'll let Shawn handle a model page if he wants to do one. Graham

I'm thinking of setting up a page linked to the MW toy page, to feature Macross custom toys by MW members, as we have so many great customs coming out and I feel it would be good to have a permanent record all in one place. The page would basically be divided into the following categories: - 1/48 Customs. 1/55 Customs. 1/60 Customs. Other Macross toy customs. Who thinks this is a good idea? Obviously, I'd have to get Shawn's approval, but I'm sure he'll say yes. Graham
-
that and one more thing, is the pilot articulated? Vostok 7 Yes of course. No. Graham

The figs at the top of the page, the K&M series 2 (Tomahawk, Armored VF-1J etc) have not been released yet. Should be out either end of this month or early next month. The figs at the bottom of the page, the Bandai HG Mission # 3 gashapons (Glaug, Q-Rau, M&M Gerwalks etc) have already been out for several weeks. I have them sitting on my office monitor. Graham
-
The Q-Rau review is already ready, but I can't show it until the toy is actually released, otherwise the fans in Japan will throw another hissy fit. Graham
-
Just saw that and corrected it. Graham
-
Anasazi, do you mind if we use some of these photos on the MW mainpage? HGraham

I'll be adding the March 2004 Model Graphix tonight. It's got a nice two-page spread on the Hasegawa VF-0S. And in the next 2-3 days, I'll be adding the April issues of Hobby Japan, Dengeki Hobby & Model Graphix. Expect more pics of the Yamato 1/100 VF-0S! This weekend I'll be starting some more reviews as well in order to clear my backlog and get up to date. I'll probably start with the 1/60 VT-1 & VE-1 or perhaps the 1/48 VF-1S Hikaru, I haven't quite decided yet. Graham
-
Wow.....fantastic custom. I've forwarded the link to this topic to Yamato for them to see. I'm sure they'll be very impressed. One thing though, I notice the intake area on the legs is not properly attached in the photos. Graham
-
It seems to me that the Japanese don't really care about chara/mecha from one show guest appearing in another. However, just imagine the fuss in the US, if for example an episode of Star Trek featured an X-Wing. King George would propably throw a fit Graham

I'm wondering if Macross 7 Trash was just dropped, because well the US publisher may have realised it probably wouldn't have sold very well, not because of any licensing issue. Despite the 'Macross 7' in the title, Trash actually has only a slim connection with Macross 7 and the original characters and sod-all in the way of mecha action. Personally, I don't rate it either as a Macross title or as a stand alone Manga. I'm a hard core Macross 7 fan. I love the anime, characters, and mecha. I have all the toys, models, books and CDs, but to be honest, I'd have no interest in buying an English language version of Trash and I even feel my Japanese editions were a waste of money. Realistically speaking, how many hard core Macross 7 fans are there in the US that would actually buy this manga, a couple of hundred at most? Or perhaps the publisher hoped to sucker Robotech fans into buying it when they saw the name 'Macross' on the cover. Just my 2 cents. Graham

Whoa........before I report this to Yamato so they can pass it on to BW, I want to make sure that the YF-19 is actually going to appear on the comic cover or in the comic. That piece of black and white art is obviously just a rough image, not the final cover. So let's just wait and see. Anyway, even reporting it to Yamato may not achieve anything. I reported the Toynami DYRL Super Poseables a week or so ago and so far have not recieved a reply I'm beginning to wonder if there is something going on behind the scenes with HG and BW that we don't know about yet.
