  1. I really like that close up pic of the VF-31S's head. definitely my favorite of all the 31 heads. Graham
  2. Yeah me too. But overall the Gimix Draken II looks much better than the Bandai 1/72 IMO.
  3. Yeah it quite surprised me when Herman was referred to by the German rank Hauptmann (Captain) in the subtitles.

    Bandai DX VF-31

Yep, for my poor man's DX, I'm just gonna snap the kit together as quick as I can, maybe apply a few dabs of super glue on some parts where necessary, slap the stickers on and perhaps do a bit of quick panel lining using a Gundam marker and that's it. Ain't gonna be any sanding, puttying, scribbing panel lines, painting etc (not that I know how to do any of that stuff anyway.............hahaha!) Graham
  5. I definitely feel the songs are the weakest part of Delta so far. The only one I mildly like and can kinda remember is Ikenai Borderline. As for the others, nothing sticks in my head. I dislike the ending song and really don't get why people are saying it has a Mac 7 vibe..............no way! I also felt the song played during the battle in episode 6 was not a good match for the action scenes. Graham

    Bandai DX VF-31

I guess they are not that popular with most fans and don't sell well enough. They are certainly not my cup of tea. Haha, yeah I likely will throw the kit as well. Or use it as an airsoft target. I'm sure by the time the DXs come out, the kit will be a broken froppy mess anyway.
  7. Hmm.........looks great, but definitely not what I expected for Cruiser mode. Definitely showing it's Macross Quarter Influence there. Still, looks far better than the Quarter ever did.
  8. Maybe it's the lighting but Mirage's VF-31 looks too pink in that photo.
  9. No, no and no. Just not my thing.

    Bandai DX VF-31

I Hope the release order is Messer, Arad, Hayate, VF-31A, Chuck, Mirage, but I know it won't be. We all know Hayate will be first. I'm down to two hobbies only, Macross & Airsoft and I still have no money.........hahaha

    Bandai DX VF-31

Hahaha...........with episode 6, my prediction from page 7 of this thread came true..........LOL

    Bandai DX VF-31

That's probably the best overall solution.
  13. Me too. I'm old school, single player only, or split screen with a friend or my son on the couch next to me playing. I have absolutely zero interest in playing online games against a bunch of strangers. And in my middle age when all my friends are married with kids and busy jobs, trying to get friends to coordinate a time for online play is near impossible (not that any of them would be interested anyway). Anyway, this whole online play fad seems to be more a millennial or kids thing. Not my cup of tea at all. Grumpy old school gamer here........hahaha

    Bandai DX VF-31

I actually really like the design of the bare VF-31, but I'm not sold on the Super Pack design and am quite worried about how they will attach to the toy.

    Bandai DX VF-31

I bet Bandai's toy and model designers are cursing Kawamori for just adding a mid-fin hinge to the tail fins that wasn't there before. That's gonna make the toy more complex and fragile. I mean, OK the toy designers probably got wind of it a while before episode 6 aired, but I imagine it could be what's delaying any new pics of the toy, as Bandai may have had to rework the 31 toy design to change the tail fins and maybe other parts of the toy to accommodate the Super Pack designs, depending on how long ago or how recently Kawmori finalised the Super Pack designs and released them to Bandai's designers. Also, not sure how secure and stable those Super Pack boosters are gonna be if they just clip onto the top of the folded tail fins along with what looks like a peg clipping into the leading edge of the wing root. I definitely can imagine the mid-fin hinge being stressed easily. Graham
  16. Too long ago, can't remember episode 14 of Frontier, but VF-171s store their gunpod externally on the underside of the VF like the VF-1, not internally in the leg like the VF-17
  17. It's definitely the same beamgunpod as mounted on the standard pod. All the details are exactly the same. So the questions now are: 1) When they are using the projection pod in the deployed position, how exactly does the beamgunpod attach to the bottom of fighter mode? 2) when using the deployed projection pod and transforming to Battroid or Gerwalk mode, where is the beamgunpod stowed if not handheld? Maybe it can only be handheld when in Battroid and Gerwalk modes if the projection pod is mounted. But perhaps not all members of Delta chose to use it? Graham
  18. I'll have to rewatch, but I think we only see two VF-31A destroyed onscreen. Was referring to Alpha & Beta platoon VF-31A deaths only, not CF-171s. Hmm interesting, that's definitely the beamgunpod there on that 31
  19. Still going through the episode frame by frame trying to see where Mirage got the beamgun pod from or whether she actually had it mounted somewhere on her VF-31. I really hope it wasn't an animation error. Wondering what the size of Alpha & Beta platoons is and how any of them actually got destroyed by the Aerial Knights? I think we only see two onscreen deaths, Alpha 01 and maybe one other IIRC.
  20. My view on the VF Master Files books, is that they are full of nice pretty pictures, which are great to look at, but any written information, unless taken from an official source is nothing more than unofficial fanfic. So personally, I tend to ignore them as a source of info.
  21. Given the Windermerian's extreme physical ability, they probably don't need it (or don't feel they need it).

    Bandai DX VF-31

Yeah, I was also thinking they may be a more offensive type.
