  1. Damn it, tell the boat's crew to row faster Graham
  2. Hmmmm.....banning everybody that loves transformers, what a great idea Now why didn't I think of that first? Note, it can be dangerous to put ideas into Graham's head. OK, all TF fans form a line on the left and prepare to be processed Mwhahahahhaha. Graham
  3. I was hoping that a few (dozen) cases might have been snuck out of the backdoor of the factory and made their way to HK for an early (unofficial) release as often happens in HK . This does not seem to have happened, unfortunately Graham
  4. Will the MPC Alpha's not be released here in asia, meaning we have to order ours stateside then? I've heard that the release date for Asia has not been decided yet, but the US will be first. Graham
  5. Very cool pic. First time to see that one. Nice. Graham

    2 seater 1/48s

I'd have to say that in my opinion, 2-seater 1/48s should certainly feasible from a technical standpoint I think the 1/60 VE-1 and VT-1 sold fairly well, the VF-1D less so. You certainly don't see any VT-1 or VE-1 on toy store shelves here in HK anymore. However, the tooling costs to make 1/48 2-seaters would be pretty high as there are a lot of new parts that need making. Perhaps Yamato feel that they would have to set the retail cost unreasonably high to recoup their investment and are worried the high price would kill sales. Or perhaps one day soon we will see 2-seater 1/48s? Graham
  7. I don't mind if Yamato goes the small and cheap route, as long as the also go the large and expensive route as well. Graham
  8. Eh.....we have a no review policy? Got my Sledge Hammer DVD set last week and it's excellent. Graham
  9. LOL....better be careful or the TF fans on this board might hunt you down and tar and feather you Graham
  10. I completely agree. With both the Yamato 1/60 line and 1/48 line, not to mention the Bandai 1/55 reissues and the Toynami 1/55 MPCs and even....gulp....the Banprestos, there is something to please everybody. It really is a win win situation for VF-1 fans. We'll probably never have it this good again. But enough of the VF-1 already, well except for a 1/48 GBP Armor, 1/48 VT-1 and 1/48 VE-1 that is Graham
  11. If it's the series #1 chase figure, then IIRC there should be no assembly required as I think the Minmay doll is just a solid lump of plastic (not 100% as I don't own one). For the series # 2 chase figure the VF-1 cockpit, I'm not sure, as when I bought mine it had already been removed from the box. However, if some assembly is required, it would probably be minimal and only mean plugging the two support struts into the base. Graham
  12. Yep, I'll second that. We need a break from the VF-1. If Yamato makes, the following toys, I'll buy multiples, as I suspect would many MWers:- VF17D/S FP, VF-22S, VF-0A/B/D/S, SV-51 Nora & D.D., VF-11B/C/D FP Resculpt, YF-21 FP Resculpt, VF-5000B FP, VA-3M, VF-4, YF-19 FP Resculpt, VF-19F/S/P/Kai, Fz-109F/A, Stampeed Valk, VF-2SS w/SAP, VF-2JA. YAMATO are you listening? Graham
  13. Ya, but there is good Graham and there is evil Graham and only Graham knows which he is today.......Mwhahahahha But seriously, it takes a lot for me to ban somebody and I certainly wouldn't do it just because somebody calls me on a post or disagrees with something I've said. I think the only times I've banned people have been when other members have let me know about a particularly bad Troll. I'm all for good natured discussion and debate as long as it stays civil. There's no rule that says everybody has to like the same thing. Graham
  14. When I'm online I do try to check all threads in the 4 main forums, not just the ones that interest me. Even though I'm not really into Gundam anymore, I still like to keep an eye on what's going on. Graham
  15. How are the gunfights and hand-to-hand combat in this movie? Are they realistic, or typical Hollywood over-the-top nonsense.........shooting two guns at once, held sideways, while jumping through the air in slow motion...yuck! Realism is cool IMO. Hollywood's version of martial competence, usually involving lots of wirework, slow motion and unrealistic moves just turns my stomach. Graham
  16. Actually, I'd be interested to see Kawamori doing some more designs for Gundam. I'm sure he'd certainly do a better job than that arch-recycler Okawara. Of course though Kawamori's top priority should be a new Macross TV series....pronto! Graham
  17. That's funny. What are you doing reading a Gundam thread for? Looks like you don't let go of a chance to bash Gundam for all it's worth. You don't like it. We get it. You don't have to rain on our parade. Mwhahahahah....Graham, bringing doom and gloom to Gundam fans everywhere G-Graham (The Mobile Gundam Basher)
  18. Another good thing about Robbie Williams is he's got the raised eyebrow thing down perfectly and in a tux he really does look like a young Connery. Graham
  19. I think Eyesonme is talking about a review of the Alpha. I understand That you're not getting yours soon, but perhaps somebody here can post a review as soon as he gets the toy. As eriku said: this'll be a loooong week As I have to order mine from the US, I'll probably be one of the last people here to get it, considering that shipping from the US to HK takes at least a week, often longer. Graham
  20. Yep, finally lost all interest in Gundam anime, toys and models a year or so ago. Both SEED and the current SD Gundam anime finally killed off what little remaining respect I had for the franchise and it's creators. The various Gundam animes and MS designs have for the most part just become too repetative for my liking. I have a small amount of residual interest left in Gundam Sentinel, but that's it. I used to buy lots of Gundam models in the period from the late 1980s to the mid 1990s This was a time when there were hardly any mecha toys being made, so if you wanted mecha, it was a choice of Gundam models or nothing. We are so lucky that we are in the middle of a toy renaissance and there is just so much choice now. This really is the golden age of toys as far as I'm concerned. Anyway, getting back on topic, the last Gundam model I bought was the MG S-Gundam, which really disappointed me as one of the ankle joints snapped on only the third transformation. Since then, I have not bought a Gundam model. There are enough Macross toys being made now to keep my wallet empty and satisfy my mecha cravings and to be honest I'd say that less than 1% of Gundam MS designs appeal to me enough to make me consider wanting a toy or model of them. Graham (burnt out, tired, sickened and disappointed with what Gundam has become)
  21. Dude, What are you talking about?? The role was tailor made for Bana Hmmmm...that pic has made me loose what little residual respect I had left for Bana . Though he was ok in Chopper. Liked him in Blackhawk Down. Thought he sucked in Hulk (as did the entire movie). I rate that movie the same as Battlefield Earth and Gundam G-savior, the only movies that have sent both my wife and I to sleep simultaneously even when we were not tired. Haven't seen Troy yet, so no comment. Graham
  22. Someone's out of touch with Bandai realities :-P Bandai makes unassembled toys. It's only a natural extension that these so-called models be made in ABS. Most of a Gundam's inner frame is ABS now. The styrene is reserved for armor pieces and things that don't rub against plastic. Does anyone recall the first Gundam model to have any form of ABS construction in it as we know it today? I can only remember as far back as the MG Alex and its shoulder joints. Heh, I stopped buying Gundam models a few years ago. Graham
  23. The perfect person to play Bond IMO would be British pop singer Robbie Williams. He looks just like a young Sean Connery and he's indicated that he's interested in the role. Unfortunately, he's not really well known in the US, despite being hugely popular in UK. I'd also like to see Bond movies go back to their roots and have the stories set during the cold war. Graham
  24. That would be ABS plastic. I thought plastic models kits, including Bandai models were made out of styrene plastic, which is generally much more fragile than the ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) plastic used in toys. Graham
  25. Eh.......what? Graham
