  1. Yeah, this thread is supposed to be about War of the Worlds movies, can we please get it back on track Seems to have been hijacked by people discussing computers or the Wargames movie. Graham
  2. I also like AFDS, although not of course as much as AC4. FYI, we previously had a 6 page thread discussing AFDS here, which contains some interesting information. I agree that the game is difficult. Too difficult in places IMO. I found that after getting about halfway through the game, I found the difficulty level on some of the stage really increases to the point that I couldn't complete them and I was getting so frustrated that I was throwing my control pad on the floor and shouting and swearing at the bloody game I figured that it was time to give the game a rest and move onto another game. I'll have to go back and re-try it someday. Graham
  3. If it's in the Toys forum and it's not about Macross, it belongs in the Other Anime section....period! Plus we already have a pinned thread in the Other Anime section for posting about all matters MPC related. Graham
  4. In one of my Japanese Macross Books (I forget which one), I've also seen SDF written as Super Dreadnaught Fortress. Graham
  5. What no Ewoks? !!!!!!!!!!!! I wanna play an Ewok, so I can take down AT/STs and squads of crack Empirial Storm Troopers with ease . Graham

    Vf-17

    Well, I've already got: - Original VF-17S = 4pcs. Original VF-17D = 5pcs. Reissue VF-17S = 3pcs. So that's probably enough , although I suppose 1 more wouldn't hurt Graham
  7. Ha Ha ...nice. Graham
  8. I voted for the VF-17. I presume this would be in fighter mode? I'd love to see a 1/72 scale VF-17 fighter resin kit with the option of building it cockpit open or closed. Oh and course it should come with FAST Packs! If the 17 gets chosen for the next project, I have the Yellow Sub 1/144 scale VF-17 with FAST Packs, which you could use as a reference as IMO it has the best proportions of all the 17 models or toys. Vf-17

Although there are a few fans who love the 17, it will always be overshadowed by the more popular designs like the 19 & 21/22 . Well, if I ever win a really large prize on the lottery, I'll start my own toy company and see about getting a Macross 7 toy license from BW, so I can make some kickass large scale Mac 7 toys Graham

Hey Graham, does Bandai still hold the licence for Macross 7? I was kinda hoping taht Yamato would pick it up and make VF17s for us to enjoy. The exact situation with the Macross 7 toy license is unknown. Yamato were always sort of cagey when I brought up the subject and would never give me a straight answer . As I'm sure most of you know, the situation with toy licenses in Japan is much less clear cut than in the West. In the US and many other Western countries, it's common practice for the license holder to grant a master toy license to one company only to make toys (although that situation is changing). However, in Japan, the license holder (in this case Big West), will often grant toy licenses to several diferent toy makers, based on scale, or materials or whether or not the toy transforms. So basically, I have no idea what the conditions of the license between Bandai and Big West are/were and whether or not the license has expired or been renewed and Bandai is just sitting on it. But I agree, a larger scale more detailed VF-17D & S toy with better landing gear, improved articulation, FAST packs, optional Radone and Fold Booster would be the bee's knees . Graham
  11. Never even heard of it before. Have to do a web search and see what turns up. Graham
  12. Pretty sure that is a photochopped Hasegawa YF-21. Graham
  13. Great review Blaine, sounds like I'm gonna love this movie. I grew up on those old black and white Flash Gordon serials and loved them. Screw modern movies and their ultra fast pacing. I do have an attention span longer than 30 seconds Graham
  14. Here's links to pics and info on Pendragon Pictures rival version of War of the Worlds. No sign of the Martians yet but seems pretty authentic - the time period, hiding in the river from the Heat Ray, Woking railway station being evacuated etc. It must be a lower budget version than Speilbergs. However, if it gets released first it may well do well. It looks very true to the novel going by the pics. http://www.sfcrowsnest.com/sfnews2/04_sept/news0904_9.shtml http://www.pendragonpictures.com/WOTWpic3.html Graham
  15. Heh 54MB . Think I'll do direct-download................NOT! Graham
  16. That profile shot of Mickey Rouke as Marv is spot on. Graham
  17. This question belongs in the model section, as this is a model not a toy. Moved. Graham
  18. Just to clarify, the books I have are the Gundam Hyper Mechanichs ones, which are all Gundam. I didn't say that the MechansimW book doesn't have the VF-0S, I'm sure it does. Graham
  19. I have three of those books that Seichi gave me, they are pretty cool. Basically fan-drawn lineart of the internal mechanisms of various Mobile suits. All the ones I have are pure Gundam though unfortunately. Graham
  20. I don't... I get bigger. I get stronger There used to be a time I needed two hands to push it down Nowadays, I can do this with one finger Heh, it's not that you are getting stronger, it's that 'it' is getting weaker (softer?) Sorry, couldn't resist, you left yourself wide open for that . Graham
  21. It would be nice for once to have a Macross 7 thread without the M7 haters automatically jumping in to bash the show or characters. We get this same knee jerk reaction everytime somebody starts an M7 thread, people just have to chime with their comments on how they hate Basara, or the music or the Protodeviln or the show in general. We 'get it' that that many Macross fans don't like M7, but is it really necessary to post the same negative comments everytime those of us that do like the show want to discuss it? Kyhronic asked a legitimate question, so please if you don't have anything worthwhile to contribute to the discussion then please don't post. And just for the record, when I first watched M7 10 years ago I used to feel the same way about Basara, but repeated watching and perhaps being more mature now that I'm in my mid-30s (although my wife would disagree) has led me to see the show in a new light to the point that I actually prefer it to the original SDF Macross. Graham
  22. she already did in The Sleeping Dictionary. She did? Time to look for that movie. According to one of the reviews on Amazon, Jessica Alba used a body double for the topless scenes in 'The Sleeping Dictionery'. Also, it gets pretty crap reviews. Graham
  23. OK, so if the film adapts material from 3 of Frank Miller's graphic novels 'Sin City', 'That Yellow Bastard' and 'The Big Fat Kill', does anybody know if the movie is going to be filmed as 3 seperate short stories, say 30-40 minutes each, or are they going to somehow combine the 3 stories into 1? Graham
  24. Damn missed the trailer. Only ever read the first Sin City graphic novel. Thought it was ok. Graham
  25. Basara is Keith........I thought everybody knew that But seriously, Basara's exact origins are never made clear, although some of his childhood is shown in the OVA Encore episodes. And no, Basara is NOT the love child of Hikaru and Minmay . The Megaroad 01 with Hikaru, Minmay and Misa aboard disappeared in 2016, while Basara was born in 2024. Graham
