  1. I loved it, definitely going to see it a second and maybe third time. So many cool nods to the original trilogy, the Clone Wars & Rebels. Graham

    Bandai DX VF-31

Mine just arrived at the office, on my first day back to work after my three week vacation to UK......yay! At least it makes having to come back to work not so bad

    Bandai DX VF-31

Got my payment request from Amiami.

    Bandai DX VF-31

Anyway, this is a thread to discuss the VF-31 DX toys. If you want to discuss the anime, take it to the relevant thread!!!!!
  5. Thanks, but no thrust to weight ratios for the VF-31 FAST Packs yet? Nobody bought or posted scans from the Bandai Super pack model kit manuals yet?
  6. Massive fleet battles? We must have been watching a different show Previous Macross series have always managed to balance the idols, music, mecha, action, love triangle, characters and story. Delta was disappointing in that the mecha, action and character development for most of the characters pretty much disappeared during episodes 14 to 25. Graham
  7. Does anyone have thrust-to-weight ratio figures handy they could post for: VF-31J VF-31J Super VF-25F. VF-25F super. Thanks in advance, Graham

    Bandai DX VF-31

I'll definitely buy Hayate's VF-31J with the black trim and Knight emblem if Bandai release it later as a DX.
  9. It's great until the halfway point, but then goes downhill rapidly from episode # 14 onwards.

    Bandai DX VF-31

Hang on, we don't know that Messer's VF-31F is next for sure. All that has been posted are some photos with no context.
  11. Yeah, Frontier was such an awesome show in my opinion, exactly how a Macross TV series should be. I just recently re-watched it to help get over my disappointment about how badly the second half of Delta turned out. The only single negative thing I have to say about Frontier was that the character animation quality was a bit dodgy in a few episodes where they farmed out the animation to obviously tier 3 SEA animation studios. I have the Bandai Frontier DVDs, but if they came with English subs on Blu-ray, I'd definitely re-buy the whole series. Delta, I bought the first disk, with the initial intention to by the rest, but honestly, I just can't justify buying the whole series given how much it jumped the shark after episode 13. I may eventually buy up to episode 13, but it's no longer such a priority.

    Bandai DX VF-31

I'm so stoked for these. Gotta catch em all! I must say having the TomyTech has really made me like Mirage's color scheme. Before I was kinda meh about it, but I've really grown to like it, so looking forward to Mirage's DX as well.
  13. Is that a Saint Seiya - Gundam Unicorn mash up, or what?
  14. Just watch episodes 1-13 and 26. There is almost no mecha featured in episodes 14-25.
  15. Sheesh, that looks like something out of a Power Rangers show!!

    Valks and light

I think it will really depend on the type and grade of plastic used in the toy. I've had several Bandai/Banpresto/Yamato toys yellow over the years despite being kept in their boxes or stored in drawers and not being exposed to any type of light source.

    Hi-Metal R

I don't think we need so many threads at this stage. Maybe later if we get more releases. Honestly, I think two threads is ok at the moment. If Bandai decide to release more HMR from different Macross series later then we can review and decide then.

    Hi-Metal R

Thinking to rename this thread "Hi-Metal R SDFM/DYRL" and create a separate thread titled "Hi-Metal R other Macross Series". Otherwise news and photos about the VF-2SS and any other Macross series releases (cross fingers we get some) just gets lost in the noise. What do you guys think???? Graham
  19. If they start giving these away, then I may consider getting a second one. As much as I love the VF-2SS design, the frustration factor with these is too high and the fun factor too low. Gonna sit back and chill and wait for the Bandai HM-R version instead.

    Bandai DX VF-31

Damn, was planning at one of each only, but with the Super packs coming, thinking do I want/need a second one to display with the packs.
  21. Looking forward to the cannon fodder version of the Sv-262 much more, I really don't like the Anubis dog style head of Keith's version and the markings are too bling bling for my taste. I really prefer the head on the standard version as it has much more of an Fz-109 / Sv-51 vibe to it.
  22. Big fan of the Ex-S Gundam. It's one of the few MS designs that I actually like. However, I'm on the fence about getting this toy. I'm disappointed that for the price it can neither be transformed to G-Cruiser mode, nor can it be converted into an S-Gundam, which would have required relatively few additional parts.
  23. Wait..........there were Valks in the show?????
  24. That is so awesome. Fantastic work.
