  1. (Cross Posted in the Movie & TV Series Forum) MWer Major Tom brought this to my attention. As he hasn't posted the news in the forums, I thought I would post it. There is going to be a Tenjin Hidetaka Art Work Valkyries book released this month. For those who don't know, Tenjin is the talented artist who does the Macross box art for the Hasegawa Macross model kits. He has also done many other Macross illustrations, such as the Japanese R2 Macross Plus 2 box DVD set and some of the illustrations on the Macross 2000 calendar. I've been wanting someone to publish his work in book form for ages. You can preorder it here: - http://www.hlj.com/product/KOB90124 Graham

  3. I originally wanted the screw holes puttied over and the knees and hips modified, but it would have cost me too much, so in the end I just went with the paint job. Graham
  4. Now for the Konami Cylon Basestar. I haven't taken any pics of the Cylon figure or the box yet. Graham
  5. Now the Konami Battlestar Galactica. Note, the Battlestars Pegasus & Atlantia (which I didn't buy) are identical, except for the name printed on the side of the hanger. Graham
  6. Next, the Konami Cylon Raider. Graham
  7. OK, here's some pics. Firstly the Konami Colonial Viper. Graham
  8. Millia's red VF-17S only appears in one episode of M7. I forget the episode number, it's in the late-20s I think. Too tired to check now. Graham
  9. Now some more Battroid mode pics, this time after the transformation from Fighter & Gerwalk. If you look closely, you can see that the transformation has scratched the shoulder connectors. Also, as the head lasers are made of a fairly soft bendy plastic, the paint on the lasers has started to crack and flake off due to the lasers being flexed slightly during transformation. I won't be transforming this custom any more and will keep it in Battroid mode to prevent further damage to the paint scheme. Graham
  10. And here's Gerwalk mode. Graham
  11. Now for the fighter mode pics. Only a couple this time. Graham
  12. Here's my Millia VF-17S custom of the Bandai 1/65 scale VF-17S reissue toy. I didn't paint this myself, but commissioned a well know professional model builder in Hong Kong to paint it for me. I'm fairly happy with how it came out, despite the fact that it took him 6 months to finish it . The only things that I'm a little bit miffed about are that he didn't paint the light blue parts (they should be a sort of greyish tan). Also, he didn't paint the auxiliary engine intakes (loccated on the back of the hips in Battroid mode). So first of all here's the Battroid mode pics. Note, I asked the painter to detail the panel lines and add minor weathering. Graham
  13. The new Hobby Japan magazine has line art of the upcoming PG Sky Grasper and Aile Strike Pack for use with the PG Strike Gundam. Bandai have redesigned the Sky Grasper to make it look much more sleek and sexy than the anime version. Graham
  14. LOL.....don't mention the "M" word, or Sebastian will use the Grand Slam to cut off your privates Graham
  15. I think they have the English dub, but not 100% sure. Graham
  16. The Konami trading figs got very limited release here in HK. Most gashapon shops had not even heard of them, and those that had received extremely limited stock. I guess BSG is not very well known or popular here . Fellow MWer Valk009 and I had to visit about a dozen shops on Wednesday evening, before we finally found a shop that had a full set. And of the 2-3 shops we found before that, that even had some of the BSG figs, most only had the Cylon Raider or the Basestar in stock. I didn't even see a single Viper or Battlestar. It was actually the very last shop we visited, just as we were about to give up for the night that still had a full set of 8pcs for sale, which they were selling for HK$360 (US$46). I thought that was a bit expensive and luckily they were selling a partial set less the gold Cylon Centurian and Battlestars Atlantia & Pegasus (which I didn't really want anyway) for HK$180 (US$23). They also had a spare Viper for HK$35 (US$4.50) which I picked up as I wanted 2. I'll post pics at the weekend. Lucky I still have one box as I threw most of them out already. Graham
  17. I have that book and yes, there is not too much line art. Most of the lineart is repeated elsewhere, lke in the B-Club Entertainment Bibles. Graham
  18. The two box Japanese R2 set that features the beautiful Tenjin YF-19 & YF-21 cockpit art on the slip cases have English dubbing available. No English subs though. I'm not sure if other Japanese editions, such as the 4 individual discs also feature the English dub. Graham
  19. OMG....I'm over 24! Too.....old.....can....no.....longer.....move....from....sofa Yep, all social life stops after you are 24 and you never visit the cinema again . Actually, that's not really true. Your social life doesn't stop even after marriage. However, it does stop when you have a baby. I haven't been to the cinema in 10 months since my son was born. Coincidence? I think not! . Graham
  20. Nice, but the wings and tails look wrong. Graham
  21. Actually, I'm the opposite. I didn't like TPM or AOTC that much when I saw them at the theatre, but have grown to like them more with repeated viewings on DVD, especially AOTC. Gotta love those Republic Gunships . Oh, and I bet Jar Jar will be revealed as a Sith in ROTS . Graham
  22. I paid £34.99 + shipping for mine. Graham
  23. Yep, Japanese R2 set is great. Beautiful Tenjin box art as well. Graham
  24. Hmmm.............I'm not sure what's the hidden meaning behind Sebastian putting a photo of his wife's head between the legs of a naked mecha? You are a naughty, naughty boy Sebastian. Graham
  25. Those underwing things only appear in the TIAS Macross Plus book from 1995. AFAIK, they are not shown on any later drawings of the VF-5000 in other later books or magazines. They were not on the VF-5000G or VF-5000GT in the Dynamite 7 OVA. Neither were they on the SHE VF-5000 perfect variable model or the Yellow Submarine VF-5000G 1/144 scale fighter mode kit. They were also not used in the 3 console games that the VF-5000 has appeared in (M3 for DC, MPGE for PS, VF-X2 Special Edition for PS). I can only presume that they were an early concept idea from Kawamori that he later decided to drop. BTW, what is the Corydoras kit? Pictures? Graham
