I usually order original Japanese R2 anime DVDs from CD Japan. I find their service to be pretty efficient. Graham

I heard it wasn't a cost issue for the F2, rather Japan's military is supposed to be purely defensive in nature, hence the name 'Self Defence Force'. Putting CFT's or even drop tanks on the F2 would greatly extend it's range making it capable of offensive operations....a big No No. Graham

Just checked my big F-15 book and it says the F-15's CFTs (FAST Packs) were first tested in prototype form in 1974 and entered service in 1975, long before Macross Graham

On the subject of Airwolf's armament, I seem to remember the opening had a schematic of Airwolf, which listed it as carrying Bullpup missiles. This is pretty funny as the Bullpup missile was already being phased out of US service in the 1970s and completey removed from service by 1982. This means that Airwolf which first aired in 1984 was carrying obsolete missiles Graham

I completely agree with that. I don't want to read anything about season 2 before I see it. Graham

I'm just not liking these mecha designs. Graham

That's interesting about the leaks. Never heard that before. Graham

I hope you mean 'screw-in'? If not, you sure have weird sexual preferences. Graham

Lucas changed it so that the Light Bulb shot first. Graham

No news of any new CM's figues. Guld and Isamu in pilot suits would be nice as well. And I'm still waiting for my DYRL shower scene Minmay figure Graham

Will look better with the hanger pods extended IMO, but it's great that you've made it with the option to build it either way. Graham

As for myself, I've always liked girls in micro-mini skirts, but each to his own I guess . Graham

Cobywan, great work. I notice you have it with the hangers retracted. Can they be extended? Graham

Conformal fuel tanks, called FAST Packs (Fuel And Sensor Tactical) first appeared on the F-15 Eagle nearly 3 decades ago. I'm sure David or some of the other aviation buffs on this site would know the exact year they entered service. Kawamori got the idea from them, not the other way round. Graham

I've taken a heck of a lot of pics of my baby with my cell phone camera when he decides to do something cute, which I would otherwise have missed due to not carrying my regular camera with me. And cell phone cameras are getting better. The one on my current phone is 1.3 mega pixels, 1280x1024 pixels resolution, takes pretty good pics in daylight. Not so good at night though and no flash . Of course cell phone cameras (with the electronic shutter noise turned off) are great for taking upskirt shots of cute miniskirt-wearing girls standing in front of you on the escalator (or so I've been told). Hey, I also train in Arnis . I've also recently been studying the 15th century “Liechtenauer tradition” of German 2-handed longsword fighting. I also didn't think the final fight was as good (or realistic) as I'd been led to believe from a swordsmanship standpoint. It's been billed for months as the longest sword fight in the history of cinema with the actors having to learn hundreds or thousands of moves, but in actuality I found it very repetative. I thought all the other fights in the movie were actually much better than the final fight. Basically it seemed for most of the fight that both Anakin and Obi Wan were just doing diagonal strike, parry, diagonal strike, parry, reapeat ad nauseam, very little variety in attacks. Graham

Now that I've seen the movie, I sort of wish I hadn't played the game before watching it, as the game kind of spoiled the movie for me. I'm not talking about the movie cut scenes that were in the game, I was fine with watching those before actually seeing the movie. What did spoil my enjoyment of the movie was the fact that the game had so much extra stuff like additional droids and characters that were not in the movie. I sat through the movie yesterday, expecting to see all these things and was very disappointed at not seeing Anakin fight Nick Gillard as Cin Drallig. Graham

While it's always nice to have the newest and best toys, often you will not have them with you, when you want or need them. While my stand-alone digital camera far outperforms the camera on my phone, I don't always carry (or want to carry) my camera with me everywhere I go, but my phone will always be with me for those times I want to take a snap shot of something. Same thing applies to handheld games. While I'm sure a GBA or PSP has far better games and performance than my cell phone, I'm not an avid enough gamer that I want to carry around yet one more piece of hardware. Yet, on those times when the urge does strike me to play a game, my cell phone will always be with me. In the end it all boils down to personal choice and a trade off of Convenience vs performance. My own choice is that most of the time I'm happy enough to accept slightly lower performance for the convenience of only having to carry around one peice of electronic hardware, instead of 3 or 4. Thought ROTS was good, but not great. Being more of a hardware fan than a fan of Jedi lightsaber fights, I was a bit disappointed by the lack of screen time of most of the new hardware. I was most disappointed at the lack of dog fights. I was really looking forward to seeing more space fighter vs space fighter action. We hardly get to see the ARC-170 & Droid Tri-fighters except for a very small appearance at the beginning and the V-Wing only has a small non-combat role right at the end of the movie . Instead we mostly just get to see Jedi Starfighters dodging missiles. And what's with the ARC-170. From the ROTS Incredible Cross Sections book, it was written up as a really tough ship able to take on overwhelming odds and survive, but in the movie they are just useless droid fodder. I would really have liked to see the Juggernaughts getting more screen time as well. Graham

Why do the Japanese hate Nobunaga?
Graham replied to lord_breetai's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Sorry, I have absolutely no idea who Nobunaga is. Isn't he a character from Doraemon? Is Sakura Taisen that anime where they have those silly looking robots that look like boilers with legs and arms? Graham, (Revelling in his ignorance) -

Guess I better take one of these then, to make sure I don't miss anything when I go to see it in about 2 and a half hours time. Graham -

Just upgraded from a Nokia 6230 to a Nokia 6230i. 32mb internal memory, supports up to 512mb MMC cards (although some people have successfully used 2gb cards), 1.3 megapixel camera for still pics & movies, mp3 player, radio etc (check Nokia site for full specs). It's a nice compact phone that does everything I want. I prefer smallish, or normal size phones rather than those PDA size monstrosities. I'm so far resiting the urge to jump on the 3G phone bandwagon. I don't really want to watch movies or TV on my phone, although the video calls could be fun. Graham
