  1. Eeeeee (screams like a Japanese schoolgirl)! When? How much? Photos? Need more info ASAP. Graham
  2. I used to save and flat back all my Yamato boxes, but in the end I just thought "what for"? and threw them all out recently. Graham
  3. I have vague memories of reading and liking the books as a child, about 25 years ago, but don't really remember them that well. I may give this a try if the reviews are positive. Graham
  4. Haven't been watching much new anime recently. I enjoyed GITS SAC & GITS SAC 2nd Gig (but they are hardly new now)and I liked what I've seen of Eureka 7, but that's it. I've been building up my DVD collection of favorite horror, action and sci fi movies instead of watching anime recently. Graham
  5. For the umpteenth time, where's the Viper MKII, MKVII and new Cylon Raider toys already? Graham
  6. You do realise that the 1/60 VF-0S is actually larger than a 1/48 don't you? 1/48 VF-1 = 30cm in fighter mode 1/60 VF-0 = 32cm in fighter mode The VF-0 is a big bird, far larger than the VF-1. Graham
  7. I hope it's not just an origin story. Enough with origin stories already Hollywood. I think pretty much everybody in the world knows the origin of Superman, so why not move on and do something more interesting. Graham
  8. The new hobby mags should be out by the end of this week (Thursday 24th or Friday 25th) so hopefully there will be some new pics..........maybe Gerwalk mode if we are lucky. I'll scan and post any pics as soon as I get the magazines. Graham
  9. The only parts that should need removing for transformation will be the intake covers and perhaps the pitot tube, although we are not sure about that yet. Graham
  10. What you are seeing in those magazine scans is actually two seperate prototypes, one in fighter mode and one in battroid mode. The fighter mode one is all stickered up, whereas the battroid one has no stickers. Anoher way to tell is that if you look closely you can see the battroid is missing it's wing lights, where as the fighter mode has the wing lights. Graham
  11. Finally got to see Serenity a couple of weeks ago while on holiday in UK. Great movie. Definitely my favorite movie of this year and for me beat out the other movies I wanted to watch this year, included Land of the Dead (my 2nd fav his year), SW Ep III (mediocre CGI snoozefest), Batman Begins (huge plot holes) and the hugely disappointing Devils Rejects. Already preordered the Serenity DVD and can't wait to watch it again and again and again. Definitely hope we get a sequel movie or 3. My only minor complaint is that Serenity tied up far too many of the threads from the TV series. I would of liked a bit more stuff left open ended. Graham
  12. Just to clarify, it is the Starship troopers movie that used dropships, not the original RAH novel, where the M.I. in their powered armor were droped in individual capsules. Graham
  13. In one of the hobby mags several months ago, it was announced that the pilot's seat would rotate in the cockpit, just like in the anime, so that the pilot would be sitting in the correct position in Battroid mode. IIRC, I think Renato translated the article. It's probably mentioned in this thread somewhere if you want to read back through all 20+ pages. Graham
  14. Yes, but it's a custom sticker, not the standard Yamato one. Graham
  15. The two things I'm most curious about now are: - 1) Is the pitot tube on the underside of the nose removable or does it somehow retract into the nose cone. If so, how does it retract? 2) How does the rotating seat mechanism work, as there doesn't seem to be that much free space in the cockpit? Graham
  16. It was already announced months ago that the leg FAST packs will attach by magnets. I don't think the lower legs will be die-cast. From my previous contact with Yamato, I know that since making the 1/48, they dislike using die-cast in transforming toys. I suspect that the lower legs will be ABS plastic and will have a small magnet glued inside. Graham
  17. Oh, I wouldn't be so sure. They never bother doing Tampo printing on these hand painted prototypes shown in the magazines. They will sometimes just use decals for these, usually taken from model kits where the size is compatible. Once the tooling is done, and the test shots start getting made, then I bet we'll start seeing some pics that show tampo printed heatshields. Graham
  18. Bear in mind that the photos are most likely still not the finished product. I would bet good money that the seams on the legs will be tightened up by the time of release. Graham
  19. Back from my holiday. As it seems no one has posted them yet, here's the scans of the 1/60 VF-0S from last month's issues of Dengeki Hobby and Hobby Japan magazines. December Dengeki Hobby. Click to enlarge: - December Hobby Japan. Click to enlarge: - Some good shots here of the pilot figure and also the inside of the leg FAST pack, showing the magnet attachment. Graham
  20. What magazine is that scan from? From the page layout, it looks like 'Figure Oh'. If yes, what issue number is it please? I'll try to pick it up on my return to HK and post a larger scan. Graham
  21. Don't go there, it's a painful experience. I could probably have put my kid through college twice, bought a Ferrari and be living in a huge mansion by now if not for my Macross obsession Graham
  22. IMO Toynami set themselves up for a fall right from the get go, by calling their toy a 'Masterpiece'. If they had followed the 'truth in advertising' concept and instead named it something like "Substandard, Unoriginal, Crappy Knockoff Series", then we would probably all not be as critical of the toy as we are now . Graham
  23. Nice recolor of the 1/60 armor. It's just a pity that the 1/60 armor has so many problems. Graham
  24. New Hobby magazines come out on October 25th. However, I will be overseas from October 20th to November 12th, so won't get them until I return. Perhaps somebody else in HK (Noel, Neova or Valk009) will be able to buy them and scan them. Otherwise, you need to wait until I return. Graham
  25. The 1/60 VF-0S is actually larger than the 1/48 VF-1. 1/48 VF-1 Length: 30.5 cm (Fighter mode) 1/60 VF-0S Length: 33 cm (Fighter mode) Graham
