  1. I personally love Victory and to this day consider it to be the best of the Gundam TV series, even better than the fan fav Zeta, which I consider highly overrated. Graham
  2. Not bad?!!! They were fricken excellent! Along with CCA, they are the best the Gundam franchise has to offer IMO. Certainly better than the pile of Poo Destiny turned into. Graham
  3. Lots of parts swapping involved in the transformation as well. Not impressed by the one I handled. Saw the 606 and 808 in the shops yesterday. Graham
  4. Given that the gatling will be PVC, even if it's not warped now, it will probably warp eventually. Graham
  5. The price of the 1/60 VF-0S has not been announced yet. I expect it will be a similar price to the 1/48 VF-1, or perhaps slightly more expensive, as after all it is a bit bigger. The VF-0S will come with the leg-mounted FAST packs as standard. As for the Ghost Booster or Reactive Armor, this has not been announced yet, but I imagine there is a good chance we will see them in the fulness of time, as long as sales of this new line are strong. Graham
  6. What was the name of Jayne's favorite gun from the TV series again? And does it feature in the movie? Graham
  7. On the monthly top 30 popularity charts for female Gundam characters, she always places 2nd or 3rd place (scroll down the Gunota page for details). Graham
  8. So does Luna die by the end or not? Graham
  9. My main complaints with Destiny are: - 1) The insane amount of recap eps. I don't know what the actual total is, but it feels like about 1 out of every 4 eps is a recap episode. 2) the shift of emphasis from Destiny characters to original Seed characters. Just like azrael, I started watching this series without much expectation, not being a huge Gundam fan. I was pleasantly suprised by the show in it's early stages, but it just seems to have lost it's way and I've mostly lost interest. Graham
  10. It may be a marvel of toy engineering, but I still think it's a butt ugly 'fruity' monstrosity with far too much kibble in the design. Definitely going to pass on this. That said, I'll probably get the military Low-Vis' version if they release it. Graham
  11. I like the pics of the mass produced military versions much better than the standard 'fruity' color Aquarion. If Bandai releases a toy of the military version I'll definitely buy it. Graham

    VF-1D

Looks much better with the new neck base, a big improvement IMO. Graham
  13. I don't think that's an Ultraman on the cover of #91. I think it's one of the bad guys from the latest Masked Rider show. And #91 doesn't have GBP pics, it has pics of the Yamato 1/60 scale VF-0S, which I have already scanned and posted on page #8 of the VF-0S thread nearly a month ago when #91 was first published. Graham
  14. Heh, for me in Hong Kong, it's US games that are the import games. My favorite at the moment being Killzone. Graham
  15. Also, I hope half the movie is not going to be wasted on reintroducing all the characters. While I accept, that some time has to be spent on this for those who have never seen the TV series, I hope that it's kept to a minimm. Graham
  16. Wonder how long I'm going to wait until Serenity makes it's way to Hong Kong. As it's not a mainstream movie, it probabaly won't even get a theatrical showing here, so I'll have to end up waiting for the DVD to be released. Graham
  17. For all you Aquarion fans, here's 3 pages of scans of the new toy from the November issue of Dengeki Hobby magazine. Enjoy! Page 1. Click on pic to enlarge. Page 2. Click on pic to enlarge. Page 3. Click on pic to enlarge. Some non-standard transformations can be seen on pages 2 & 3. Graham
  18. What number is it? And does it contain any Macross pics? I'm not buying a magazine just for Aquarion pics. Graham
  19. The new November issue of Model Graphix magazine has a two page spread on the Hasegawa VF-0A w/Ghost kit in a custom paint scheme. Here's the scans: - Page 1. Click pic to enlarge. Page 2. Click pic to enlarge. Graham

    VF-1D

What about the two side by side antenna on the backplate hatch? Don't see them yet. Graham
  21. I would guess that with the GP-01 and GP-02, Kawamori was probably just given a spec sheet and told to design a mecha around it which had to follow the usual Gundam design rules, i.e. be blue, white & red have V antenna, twin head guns, two beam sabers etc. I also doubt very much that he had any control over the weapons, unlike with Macross. Graham
  22. The GU-11 fires a 55mm round. Even with advances in technology, there is a limit to how small you can make the barrels, feed mechanism, drive motor and ammuntion storage, i.e. the size of the gun mechanism and working parts is dictated by the size of the round it fires. And don't forget that the GU-11 also holds 200rds of ammuntion. As for the extendible stock, it's probably supposed to be just like the stock on real rifles, to allow aiming from the shoulder. The size of the GU-11 is actually quite realistic for a 3 barreled 55mm weapon with internal ammo storage. One of the many reasons I prefer Macross to Gundam and one of the things I find very unrealistic about Gundam is that there is absolutely no way, you could fit 2 x 3 barreled 60mm guns (or 75mm in SEED!) in the head of a normal size Mobile Suit, the head would just not be big enough, as a 60mm or 75mm multi-barreled Gattling type cannon would be huge, far bigger than the head of a typical MS. 12mm or perhaps 20mm rotary guns yes you could fit, but nothing larger. As I said, Kawamori knows his stuff and gets it as realistic as possible within the constraints of a giant robot show. Gundam designs like Okawara just wing it and make up stuff that doesn't make sense, but just sound cool. Graham
  23. I wonder if Jewel Staite (Kaylee) has any Asian blood in her as she looks of mixed ancestry. Graham
  24. So, Knight26, was it Shinsei Industries or General Galaxy that employed you? C'mon inquiring minds wanna know if it's the YF-19 or YF-21 you are gonna be working on. If the MWcon is at New Edwards, ya gotta make sure to invite Lucy. But seriously, congrats on the new job. Graham
  25. You've got the ultra rare battle damaged version I reckon. Graham
