Easy pass for me, it's never been a design that has really appealed to me.

The cockpit is traditionally located in the nose (forward fuselage) because it gives the pilot a larger field of view and generally better all-round visibility (depending on canopy design), which is important so the pilot has good visibility for landings and also good situational awareness in air combat. If a traditional cockpit was located towards the middle of rear of the plane, the pilot would find the structure of the plane blocked large parts of his/her field of view. However, as you mentioned, with virtual cockpits that rely on multiple external cameras and other sensors to provide the pilot with his view, the cockpit location doesn't really matter too much.

The Alien/Predator/Aliens vs. Predator Thread
Graham replied to VT 1010's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Hmm.........old cast vs new cast. I certainly know which looks more manly and badass! Perhaps the new movie will be a Homealone style Predator, hence the kid! -
I have a couple of questions that I hope somebody can help me with, relating to playing Macross Delta Scramble using a PSTV with Dualshock 3 controller:. (1) I noticed in the Hangar where you tune your VFs and weapons using TP that most VFs are shown as having 5 weapons in total (1 x main weapon, 3 x sub weapons & 1 x melee attack). However, using the Dualshock 3 controller, I only can switch between two of the sub weapons during missions using the right D-pad key. I cannot access the third sub weapon at all. I've noticed that if I press the right D-pad key and Select at the same time it will eject Super Parts if they are equipped (but that is all it does). So is their really a third sub-weapon? And if yes, how do I switch to it using the Dual shock 3 controller? I've tried going into the menu to configure the controls, but the menu control config is set around the handheld Vita, not the Dual Shock 3,so I don't seem to be able to reassign any controls. (2) I noticed in Zoroastres menu translations, there is a "Command Ally" function button on the Vita, but again using the Dual Shock 3 controller, I don't seem to have access to this at all. Anybody know if their is a combination of buttons on the Dualshock 3 controller that will allow me to access it?

Wow, these are still a thing! After so long with no news, I thought they were vaporware.

I called it right right with the Sv-51. But more cool at least for me is the Battle 7.

Maybe Evolution bought the tooling from CMs' when they went bust.

Damn, Xigfrid, I wish Bandai would pay you a shed load of money to buy your design and mass produce this in toy form fully pre-painted.

I gotta say after buying this game, if you haven't bought it yet and were on the fence about buying it like I was, go and buy it, it's a great game. If you've played and liked the PSP MAF/MUF/MTF games and liked them, you'll love this. It's similar, but better graphics and the VFs handle better than the PSP games IMO. My only complaint is I wish the maps were 2 x or 3 x larger and of course I'd love more VFs and full campaigns for all eras.

Are we really pinning our hopes on Evolution toys? We all know how that is gonna end!

I'd buy a VF-19S with the Super Packs.

New Macross TV Series in 20xx (sometime this decade)
Graham replied to Tochiro's topic in Movies and TV Series
I always thought the VF-25 in SMS use was quite under-armed in the atmosphere, having only the 58m gunpod, head laser(s), 25mm wing root guns and in SMS use at least in the anime and movies, missiles were never carried on the wing hard-points in atmosphere. It wasn't until IIRC the PS3 Hybrid games that we saw missiles on the wings of the VF-25. -
Back in 2008 I got a PSP to play Macross Ace Frontier, then Macross Ultimate Frontier, then Macross Triangle Frontier. I carried my PSP daily from 2008 to 2012 and played the sh*t outta those 3 games. Haven't used my PSP since 2012 though and on recently digging it outta a drawer where it's been for the last 5 years unused, I found the start button has died. Took it to the local Sony Playstation service center yesterday, but they said they haven't serviced any PSPs for 3 years and don't even have parts anymore . Another repair shop quoted me HK$750 for repair (US$96). I could probably get a new one for not much more than that! Anyway, no burning desire to get a handheld Vita, I'm quite happy with my PSTV so far, got it set up in my bedroom, so I can play Macross Delta Scramble on my bedroom TV while laying in bed....hahaha. I guess I've just kinda lost the desire to carry around a handheld system, plus too many other things need money.....urghhhh I probably won't buy any other games for the PSTV unless another Macross game is released for it. I have a habit of buying game systems just because a Macross game is released for it. My Superfamicom, Playstation, Dreamcast, PS2 and PS3 were all bought specifically to play Macross games (although of course I did buy other games for them as well), but it's safe to say if not for a Macross game being released for those systems, I may not have bought them.....hahaha

Heh heh, yeah I just unlocked Makina last night and got a taste of the unlimited ammo.

Here's the Itasha VF-31A I unlocked after completing the first Chaos mission. I got an SS on first attempt. Not sure if that had anything to do with unlocking this VF or not.

Hasegawa 1/72 VF-25F/S Super Messiah Macross Frontier
Graham replied to Mintox's topic in The Workshop!
Nice. Looking forward to seeing this build progress. -
It used to be the other way round. I used to refuse to use HLJ, because they used to be so slow at getting orders out the door, so much so that I'd prefer to use NJ, even though they were often more expensive, especially if you missed the initial discounted pre-order price, but NJ were fast at getting orders out. But it seems like HLJ have got their act together in the last 1-2 years and get orders packed and out the door much faster now.

New Macross TV Series in 20xx (sometime this decade)
Graham replied to Tochiro's topic in Movies and TV Series
Gotta disagree with you that the VF-31 looks like recycled everything from the VF-25. Looking at the 1/60 toys on my shelf they are completely different, especially in fighter mode. Actually, the extra long nose of the VF-25 has really started to bug me recently. VF-31 in fighter mode of course looks more similar to the YF-30 (which it is based on) with a dash of VF-19F/S (one of my favorite Valks) thrown in. Yes, in battroid mode, there are more obvious similarities in appearance between the VF-25 and the VF-31, such as the nose cone position and the wings sticking out from the back, but that's about it really. -

Yes, big thanks from me as well, Zoroastres. Just like your Macross 30 guide, this Macross Delta Scramble guide is invaluable.- 23 replies

The VF-31A I got after completing the very first Chaos mission is grey with delta wings, but has large Itasha pics of Mikumo and Freyja on the back and wings.

Yeah, I play on a Japanese PSN account and have both the recent free and paid DLC installed. I don't have any pre-order stuff though. I only bought the game about a week and a half ago.
