  1. Yeah, I thought I read somewhere that Abrams and Co admitted that they are just making it all up as they go along. Graham
  2. And all these years I thought the Veritechs were powered by stuffing leaves and flowers into the fuel tank Graham
  3. I don't own an Xbox, so never played Halo. But isn't it just some guy in armor running around shooting aliens and jumping in and out of the occasional wheeled vehicle? Is there actually enough story to base a movie on? Secondly, isn't that Andy Serkis guy a little skinny fellow? I thought this Masterchielf was supposed to be a big hulking marine? Graham
  4. Just curious, based on date of release, how do most people define old and new anime? Obviously anime from the 70s and 80s can be considered old, where as anime from the year 2000 to present could be called new. But where does that leave the 90s? Just where do you draw the line between calling an anime old or new? For myself, I consider any anime from the last 10 years (1995 to 2005) new. Graham
  5. In Robotech, protoculture is a flower isn't it? Does that make it a radioactive flower? Perhaps the sap is pink and that's what they rub on their skin? Graham
  6. I like the series, although I've only seen the first 8 eps so far. I far prefer it to Aquarion, the other series that Kawamori is involved with. We already have a 5 page thread on the Eureka 7 anime and toys. You can read it here for people's views on the series. Graham
  7. IIRC, they are about 6 to 7 inches tall to the top of the head. Graham
  8. They are supposed to be sort of cheapy toys, just one step up from MSIA, not deluxe versions. But yes they are sorta sucky. Only buy them if you really love the mecha designs. Graham
  9. I bought one last week, but wasn't that impressed with it. The shoulder beam saber hilts keep falling out and the back weapons don't actually fold. Instead you have to remove the front half from it's closed position, then reattach it in the open position. Articulation is good though. However, I had to search the shelves to get one with a good paint job as most of them had some problem with the blue paint on the center groin part. Graham
  10. I personally love Victory and to this day consider it to be the best of the Gundam TV series, even better than the fan fav Zeta, which I consider highly overrated. Graham
  11. Not bad?!!! They were fricken excellent! Along with CCA, they are the best the Gundam franchise has to offer IMO. Certainly better than the pile of Poo Destiny turned into. Graham
  12. Lots of parts swapping involved in the transformation as well. Not impressed by the one I handled. Saw the 606 and 808 in the shops yesterday. Graham
  13. Given that the gatling will be PVC, even if it's not warped now, it will probably warp eventually. Graham
  14. The price of the 1/60 VF-0S has not been announced yet. I expect it will be a similar price to the 1/48 VF-1, or perhaps slightly more expensive, as after all it is a bit bigger. The VF-0S will come with the leg-mounted FAST packs as standard. As for the Ghost Booster or Reactive Armor, this has not been announced yet, but I imagine there is a good chance we will see them in the fulness of time, as long as sales of this new line are strong. Graham
  15. What was the name of Jayne's favorite gun from the TV series again? And does it feature in the movie? Graham
  16. On the monthly top 30 popularity charts for female Gundam characters, she always places 2nd or 3rd place (scroll down the Gunota page for details). Graham
  17. So does Luna die by the end or not? Graham
  18. My main complaints with Destiny are: - 1) The insane amount of recap eps. I don't know what the actual total is, but it feels like about 1 out of every 4 eps is a recap episode. 2) the shift of emphasis from Destiny characters to original Seed characters. Just like azrael, I started watching this series without much expectation, not being a huge Gundam fan. I was pleasantly suprised by the show in it's early stages, but it just seems to have lost it's way and I've mostly lost interest. Graham
  19. It may be a marvel of toy engineering, but I still think it's a butt ugly 'fruity' monstrosity with far too much kibble in the design. Definitely going to pass on this. That said, I'll probably get the military Low-Vis' version if they release it. Graham
  20. I like the pics of the mass produced military versions much better than the standard 'fruity' color Aquarion. If Bandai releases a toy of the military version I'll definitely buy it. Graham
  21. Graham

    VF-1D

Looks much better with the new neck base, a big improvement IMO. Graham
  22. I don't think that's an Ultraman on the cover of #91. I think it's one of the bad guys from the latest Masked Rider show. And #91 doesn't have GBP pics, it has pics of the Yamato 1/60 scale VF-0S, which I have already scanned and posted on page #8 of the VF-0S thread nearly a month ago when #91 was first published. Graham
  23. Heh, for me in Hong Kong, it's US games that are the import games. My favorite at the moment being Killzone. Graham
  24. Also, I hope half the movie is not going to be wasted on reintroducing all the characters. While I accept, that some time has to be spent on this for those who have never seen the TV series, I hope that it's kept to a minimm. Graham
  25. Wonder how long I'm going to wait until Serenity makes it's way to Hong Kong. As it's not a mainstream movie, it probabaly won't even get a theatrical showing here, so I'll have to end up waiting for the DVD to be released. Graham
