  1. OK, thanks. Gotta go and check the colored lineart pics to see what color they show. Graham
  2. Nope, the only Fighter mode kits of the VF-17 were the 1/144 ones by Bandai (plastic) and Yellow Submarine (resin). The Yellow Submarine fighter mode kit is excellent for it's size and comes with FAST packs and a launching arm for display. I've got one for sale in this thread. If you want to have a VF-17 Battroid, Gerwalk and Fighter all in the same scale, your only option is to go with 1/144 scale. For Battroid mode, you will have to go with the Bandai plastic model. It's not a bad little kit and can be improved by adding some TECT detail-up parts (TECT upgrade kit No.7). For Gerwalk mode, your only choice is the Bandai Plastic fighter, combined with the TECT Gerwalk Conversion kit (TECT kit No. 5). For Fighter mode, you can use either the Bandai or Yellow Submarine 1/144 kits. The Yellow Submarine kit has by far the better sculpt and more detail. VF-17 kits that I know of are: - 1/72 Scale: 1) Wave soft-vinyl (PVC) Battroid Kit. there are two versions of this, the first with a Yellow Box has metal parts for the hands and other small parts. The second later release has a white box (but same box art), but the metal parts are replaced by plastic parts. 1/100 Scale: 1) Wave resin VF-17S/D Battroid with FAST Packs. 2) I'm pretty sure there was also a Wave 1/100 scale resin VF-17TKai Battroid (can't recall if this came with a sound booster or not), but unfortunately, it's not shown on the main Macrossworld site. 1/144 Scale: 1) Bandai Plastic Fighter and Battroid 2-in-1 kit. 2) Yellow Submarine resin Fighter mode kit with FAST Packs and Stand. 3) TECT resin conversion kit No. 5 - Gerwalk Conversion. 4) TECT resin conversion kit No. 7 - Detail-Up parts, Fighter mode Radome & display stand 5) TECT resin conversion kit No. 16 - VF-17T Kai Battroid Conversion Kit. 6) TECT resin conversion kit No. 17 - Sound Booster for use with 1/144 VF-17T kai. Unknown Scale: 1) IHP also did an extremely small run of a perfect variable VF-17D resin kit several years ago (late '90s IIRC). I don't remember what scale this was, but I think it was either 1/144 or 1/100. I think it was an event exclusive item (Wonder Fest?) and thus extremely rare. This thread has some pics of my completed 1/144 Yellow Submarine and 1/100 Wave VF-17 kits. I would love to have a 1/72 scale V-17D/S fighter kit. Hopefully, someday Hasegawa will oblige. Graham
  3. If you search through the 15 pages of the Unofficial Color Scheme Thread, you can find some blank VF-0 lineart, both top view and side view. Graham
  4. And here's the official site. Graham
  5. Original ACE 2 thread from August 12th. Although it is in the Other Anime Forum, not the games forum for some reason. But anyway, thanks for the nice magazine scan Solscudd007. Graham
  6. Whether or not A1 is co-admin material is solely up to Shawn to decide. In the end, whatever we may think of A1 is irrelevant. The thing is Macrossworld does urgently need somebody to do regular site updates. I'm going to be contacting (or attempting to contact) Shawn sometime within the next week and let him know that 3 people (A1, Mechamaniac & Azrael) are interested in the position. I'll then urge Shawn to contact each of those 3 people and hopefully he can make his mind up fairly quickly which person or persons he wants to give the position to. Graham

    Vf-0s From Yamato

The dedicated Yamato 1/60 VF-0S picture & information thread is here. Lots of pics to be seen. Graham
  8. There's been posts on MW about ACE2 already, quite a while ago. Unfortunately, the game only has the VF-1J and VF-1S.....yawn! No Mac Zero, Mac Plus or Mac 7 mecha. Graham
  9. Very nice. I agree, it's always nice to see non-canon paint schemes. Graham
  10. I'm not familiar with the manga, only the anime. Is the Gigantic Dark supposed to by an upgrade of Guyver III or what? Graham
  11. Alex, can you remember if the 3 missiles in the forearm armor were blue? Graham
  12. If this was the good old days, I'd have a sample in hand already and a review up by now.....grumble, grumble, grumble. Graham
  13. Grab your camera, take some pics and post them please. Graham
  14. Agent ONE, I do hope you realise that if you get the co-admin position, you may need to do updates related to Macross 7 merchandise Graham
  15. Yes, because Shawn, Myersjesse and myself have very little free time to update the site these days. Graham
  16. Agent One & Mechamaniac. If you are both serious about this, please PM me your email addresses and cell phone numbers. I will then call Shawn on his cell phone to discuss the matter with him, letting him know you are both interested in the co-admin position. I'll pass your email and cell phone info to him, so he can contact you directly (if he chooses) to discuss the matter with you both. Graham
  17. It's not a P9, it's a VP-70 Graham.
  18. If you seriously want to be a co-admin Agent One, you will need to get in touch with Shawn by either email or phone and discuss it with him directly. The same applies to anybody else interested in the position. This is not something that Jesse or myself have the authority to approve. I presume you have at least some basic familiarity with Dreamweaver or Front Page (or other similar software) so that you can actually update the main site? Also, Shawn has requested that people interested in the co-admmin position have knowledge of the following: - "MW runs on redhat 9, has uses php, mysql, and apache. Experience needed (not expert, but at least some familiarity-google smart + common sense would be fine)" Lastly, you actually need to have the free time and the willingness to help maintain the site and work on semi-regular updates. 1/48 Vf-1d Completed!

Fantastic work as usual Kurt, but it's just crying out for custom TV Hikaru and Minmay figures in the cockpit. I'll get this up in the MW custom toy gallery, as soon as I re-install Dreamweaver on my PC (probably be after Xmas now though). BTW, can't wait to see your custom paint schemes on the 1/48 GBP and 1/60 VF-0S when they are released. Graham
  20. Apparently, the Miami Vice Bren Ten was hard chromed, not stainless. Info again from the Bren-Ten.com website. All-Stainless Bren? There are a number of interesting facts about the Bren Ten used on Miami Vice. First off, the gun used by the character Sonny Crockett appears to be an all-stainless steel gun. None of the production guns made by Dornaus & Dixon were all-stainless. Because of gauling problems between stainless steel slides and frames Dornaus & Dixon opted to go with a stainless frame and a carbon steel slide, and on ALL the full-sized guns these slides are blued, without exception. The Special Forces Light, however, has a slide that is hard chromed rather than blued. This is the finish that is also on the Miami Vice Bren. From what I understand, Sonny Crockett's pistol received this treatment to make it more visible during night filming. (This is the same reason it was decided to repaint his Ferrari Testarossa white which was originally black like the Ferrari Daytona Spyder 365 GTS/4 that was used in the first few seasons.) Graham
  21. I've long had an interest in the Bren Ten. For those that care, the exact reasons that the manufacturer went out of business are covered on the Bren-Ten.com website. I've copied the relevant text below: - The Demise of Dornaus & Dixon And The Bren Ten While it is fact that Dornaus & Dixon Enterprises, Inc. filed bankruptcy and closed its doors in 1986, the reasons for this have long been unclear and misunderstood. One popular belief, often refered to in the gun magazines of the time, was that the unavailability of magazines was the primary reason. While problems with the mags were another "nail in the coffin" so to speak, they were not the main issue. Simply put, the company lacked sufficient funding to continue operation. Dornaus & Dixon started taking advance orders (along with payments for these orders) at least as early as 1982. This created huge pressures to deliver and because of this guns were shipped prior to any kind of endurance testing. If this testing had been done beforehand all the various problems which surfaced subsequently could have been addressed during the development stage, before any guns ever got into the hands of consumers. But instead what happened was that Dornaus & Dixon were forced to scramble in order to fix problems with guns that had already been paid for while still trying to fill long paid for orders. Of these problems the first generation mags were just one of the more publicized issues. Basically the company was trying to ship guns to buyers who's money had long since been spent while at the same time trying to fix guns (and magazines) that had already been shipped and were now being returned for warranty work. This equates to labor and product going out and no money coming in. So, with bankruptcy papers filed, the company of Dornaus & Dixon Enterprises, Inc. shut down operation and the Bren Ten semiautomatic pistol became yet another piece of firearm history. Graham
  22. LOL......so Tike was a necrophiliac then. Graham
  23. So what percentage of the film is new footage then? Graham
  24. The Bren Ten 10mm, while being a nice weapon, was by all accounts not terribly reliable with blank ammo, which was why the switch to the uber-reliable S&W 645 in seasons 3 & 4. Graham
