    What The? Ohhh Wow

Yay, just got the Mac Plus arcade game to work. I'd downloaded the wrong version of MAME yesterday. It was a case of not RTFM (or in this case JBO's instructions) carefully enough. And wow, is it difficult to play using the keyboard arrow keys. Anyway to get it to work with the mouse? Graham

Heh, I was doing OK, up until this part. For some reason when I tried to run MAME, the command prompt window wouldn't let me type anything and kept closing on me automatically!!!!!!!! Surely somebody must have made some more user friendly software by now.........sigh. Graham
  5. As Jesse is still busy, I'm willing to do some updates for the model section. However, I need people to send me scans of the kits that are missing from the main site as I don't own them personally. What I need are a box cover scan, instruction scan, parts scan. Scans should ideally be at 200dpi resolution and sized at 800 pixels width. If you are willing to provide pics of any kits not already listed on the main site, please PM me and I will give you an email address to send the scans to. Graham
  6. I'm wondering if the original Japanese novel has as much gay angst as the anime does? Did we ever find out if the novel had been translated into English? Graham
  7. Yep, both the SW-XA1 Schneeblume (great design IMO) and the VF-0 are kawamori's take on a redesigned VF-1. I'd love a toy of the SW-XA1. Graham
  8. I'm Zolan, only have 1 arm and hunt Galactic Whales. Graham
  9. Valk toys (or any toys) on display on a shelf do pick up a lot of dust over time. Once the dust works it's way into the panel lines it can be difficult to get out. Just wiping with a cloth will usually not do the trick. I had several 1/65 scale Bandai VF-17D/S and VF-19S/Kai toys on shelf display for several years and they got really dusty. The cleaning method that worked for me was to completely disassemble the toys, fill a largish bowl with warm water and dish washing detergent, soak the parts for a minute or two, then take a soft tooth brush and gently scrub each part, then rinse the parts under the tap to get off the soap. Then it was just a case of drying each part and reassembling the toys. The toys came out looking as good as new. You could probably do this without disassembing the toys, but I decided to disassemble them as the dust had really worked it's way into all the joints. I now consider myself an expert in disassembling/reassembling the Bandai Macoss 7 toys The best thing is don't display your high-end collectors toys on an open shelf, get a good display cabinet to protect them from dust. Quick question, where can I find the Macross Plus arcade game to download and how can I play it on my PC? Please explain in simple terms that a 5 year old would understand. I have no idea about this MAIM stuff. Graham
  11. Simple answer, Japanese mecha designers are more talented Graham
  12. (Edited topic title, so 'Valkyrie' is now spelt correctly). First choice would be Yamato's upcoming 1/60 scale VF-0S, it's amazing and actually superior to the 1/48 VF-1 in a lot of ways. Second choice should be a Yamato 1/48 scale VF-1 with both FAST Pack set and GBP Armor parts, so some days you can display it with the FAST Packs on, and then other times wearing the GBP armor. As for the color and head style of the 1/48 VF-1, that's up to you and depends on your personal preference. For myself, I would choose either the VF-1S Hikaru, VF-1S Roy or VF-1J Hikaru in that order. All are fairly easy to find at the moment. Graham
  13. The sculpt of the Toynami VF-1 Super Poseables was far too stylized for my liking, especially the thighs and upper arms. Graham
  14. No, I didn't buy any toys or models in the end. Blackaces bought 1 toy, I just gave a mini-review on his toy in the Eureaka 7 thread. Although I sorta like the anime, I don't like the mecha designs enough to want to own the toys or models or an art book! Graham
  15. Pic looks good with the black background, but you need to raise the cockpit up a little. Graham
  16. Calling the VF-0 anorexic and using the above side-by-side lineart pics for comparison is being a bit unfair to the VF-0. Although in the above pics, the VF-1 and VF-0 appear to be the same size, this is not the case. The above pics are not in scale to each other and in fact the VF-0 is actually much larger than the VF-1. See the pic below for a correct in-scale comparison of the VF-1 and VF-0. Far from being anorexic, the VF-0 looks like it could easily kick sand in the face of the VF-1. Graham
  17. The only art I really have interest in is the Macross Zero line art as there is so little of that published. The Macross and Macross Plus art will probably be the same as in half a dozen other art books already and I have no interest in the Aquarion, Eureaka 7 or other stuff. Anyway, I just ordered it from amazon.co.jp Graham
  18. Topic title corrected. I know not who this 'Lick Hunter' of whom you speak. Graham
  19. Up to you, but the more detailed the better. A game like this deserves a detailed review. Graham
  20. I guess so, if you can grab them. Graham
  21. Can't find it listed on amazon.co.jp yet, but maybe I'm not entering the right name. Can't find it on the Movic site either. I'm presuming it's by Movic as the are the previous publishers of the 'Design Works' series. Hopefully it will have some Macross Zero Line art. Graham
  22. Welcome to Macrossworld. We have known about this game since 2002 (before it was even published) and have discussed it many times on these forums and the old boards as well. If you do a search for 'Macross PS2', you can find several topics discussing the game. Many of us here own the game and think it's great, although we are disappointed that the VF-0S, SV-51, YF-21 & YF-19 were removed from the game at the last minute, despite being shown in a promotional video. Graham
  23. Anybody want to take a shot at writing a review of the PS2 game to go in the games section of the main site? Graham
  24. Damn, no Oscars for Serenity or Land of the Dead, the only 2 good films of last year IMO. Graham
  25. I'll reserve comment until I see it. It's probably a misunderstood classic Graham
