Received my two VF-2SS yesterday. Only had time to open one and attach the SAP in battroid mode, but I'm liking what I see already. Joints are nice and tight, it poses well and looks great. My initial impression is that this is the VF-2SS toy I've been waiting 25 years for and it's far superior to the Evolution Toys version. Of course, I'd prefer a larger scale with less parts-forming, put for the size I'm loving it. Will try transforming my other one to fighter mode at the weekend.

Honestly, I'm not liking the proportions of the shoulders and chest at all. I far preferred the look of the 1/35 prototype they showed a few years ago.

I've kind of soured a bit on my Bandai VF-19 Advance, due to the front landing gear mid-strut hinge getting super loose, so that if you breath on the Fighter mode, the front landing gear collapses

I wonder if both arm super parts open for gunpod storage? And if so, does it ship with one gunpod or two? I guess one from the photos shown so far.

Yeah, so excited for the VF-2SS. Got two on order. Planning to keep one in fighter mode with SAP, one in Battroid mode with SAP. May have to order a third for SAP-less display in Fighter mode.

That's disheartening to hear that there may be a potential problem with the VF-19 series, as they are my favorite Yamato toys and in my opinion the best VFs Yamato every produced. Until Bandai came out with the VF-31, I used to consider the Yamato VF-19 series the pinnacle of VF toy design. Hopefully Vendetta's cracked shoulder is just an unfortunate one-off incident.

The change in packaging doesn't bother me as I only keep the Valk boxes, anyway. I always throw the Super Part boxes out and store any unused parts inside the Valk box.
