  1. So what pistol does Bond use in this movie? The movie posters which have just started going up here in HK, show him with what appears to be a silenced PPK, but what's shown on movie posters often has no relation to what's actually in the movie. Graham
  2. From what I understand from my conversations with Yamato, when the 1/48 was first designed, two-seater versions were not considered and not even taken into consideration. Originally, the line was only supposed to comprise the 3 main DYRL single-seaters (Hikaru 1A, Max 1A & Roy 1S) plus FAST Packs. However, the popularity of the 1/48 surprised even Yamato, so the line was gradually expanded. IIRC, Yamato said that, two-seaters are just about technically possible, but the existing 1/48 design is not an ideal frame for making a two-seater. I've only briefly looked at Capt's 1/48 VF-1D conversion kit and correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the heat shield have to be removed during transformation? Also, doesn't the head hang too far down in fighter mode? Graham
  3. Hopefully, the Ghosts won't be late. I mean they don't transform and have a relatively small number of parts (unlike the GBP), so they should be fairly simple to make. Graham
  4. Don't ya know that Roy had a tradition of painting all the skulls himself on the tails of the Skull Squadron Valks. Being that he was usually dunk, he always painted the skulls crooked. Graham
  5. Ah, but the straight Skulls were the special limited edition version and will henceforce triple in price on Ebay! Graham
  6. On this page, you can see a date of May 2007 is mentioned for the Shin & Ghost set. On this page you can see that a date of April 2007 is shown for the Ghost by itself. Remember to check the MW updates! Graham
  7. The top of the head comes off? I didn't know that. It's not supposed to! Never had it come of on my VF-0S. I'll have to try it when I go home tonight. Graham
  8. Maybe Kawamori has said that crooked skulls are official! Did ya think of that huh? Well, did ya? Graham
  9. Never liked Gundam much and always thought the RX-78 is a hideous looking design. Never understood why the anime is so popular also. Give me Macross over Gundam anyday. Graham
  10. There's been a review up of the VF-0S since it was first released in early May 2006. I'm planning a review of the VF-0A CF soon, as IMO it merits it's own review due to the improved joints. I'm also planning a VF-0 video transformation guide soon. As for a 1/48 video guide, I did one years ago see:here. As for other 1/48 repaints, they probably won't get full reviews, but I'll eventually post some pics and write a few comments. Graham
  11. So is it Lego or Megablocks? The thread title mentions Lego, but the first post mentions Megablocks............confused! I really hate the RX-78 with it's silly red clown feet.........Mwahahaha! Graham
  12. I'm gonna try and get a review of the VF-0A done before Christmas, mainly as I wanna mess around with shooting photos wih my new light box set up. May also do a transformation video guide. Graham
  13. One thing I forgot to mention in the videos and in the review is that when transforming the arms to fighter mode, after you slide up the bicep covers, there is a joint hidden under the bicep cover that hinges 90 degrees. You can see this clearly in this pic. I've never held with the belief shared by some members here that Yamato toys are fragile 'display only' pieces. I handle all my Yamatos roughly and apart. Graham
  14. Yummy Hind pic, but I'm wondering why the guns in the chin turret? I thought all newer Hinds had dropped the chin turret guns for cannon mounted on the side of the fuselage? Graham
  15. 20th Anniversary T-shirts from Japan, available in black, red & tan and in three different designs. I've got the black and tan ones and I think Noel has the red IIRC. I got them as a gift. Graham
  16. Well, I could do the whole high definition, THX sound, John Woo style leaping through the air while holding two YF-19 sideways and transforming them both at once in slow motion, but the file size would be at least a Gig! Or perhaps next time I should try for a Bullet Time transformation.....LOL! Graham
  17. I'm always pretty rough with my toys, but then again I've logged a lot of time with the 19, so I pretty much know what I'm doing. Graham
  18. Luckily they just pop right back on. There's a few parts of the toy that can come of or come apart during transformation, such as the backpack connection that I show on the video, the tail fins if you pull too hard, such as when the moving base is too tight and also the the upper backpack section where it connects by two begs o the back of the chest plate. I'll probably make a vid of that later. Luckily everything pops back together easily. Graham
  19. I also uploaded the three videos to the MW server, so there is anoher source other than YouTube:- Battroid To Fighter Mode http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/toys/Y...fighter_all.wmv (28.4MB) Fighter to Battroid Mode http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/toys/Y...attroid_all.wmv (22MB) Fighter to Gerwalk Mode http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/toys/Y...gerwalk_all.wmv (13.8MB) Graham
  20. Uploading to YouTube is still processing on a couple of the vids, so please be patient. I hope they are OK, as I haven't really checked them yet to see if I do anything stupid, like going of camera. Graham
  21. OK, let's see if this works. Here's the 3 transformation video guides: - Graham
  22. OK, just reducing the vids to a more manageable 17MB to 20MB size each. Should have them uploaded by tonight. Graham
  23. That's correct in year 2000 IIRC, Yamato made a one-off larger scale version of the 1/72. IIRC, it was 1/48 scale. Apart from the larger size and being made all in resin, it was otherwise comlpletely identical to the 1/72. I'd forgotten about it. I have a ton of pics on disc somewhere. Just to clarify, it was not an early prototype for the 1/60. Graham
  24. Videos are filmed, but the file size is too large. Just the battroid to fighter guide was 389MB! Gotta cut them into smaller chunks I think. Graham
  25. There are no red stripes on any VF-0 in the anime. The only time you will see red stripes on a VF-0 is either on Hasegawa's non-canon VF-0B kit or Yamato's non-canon Wolf Pack stickers. In the OVA Shin first flys a two-tone blue & white VF-0D two-seater that has a white chest stripe. In the final episode he flys a two-tone grey and white VF-0A with a white chest stripe. Graham
