  1. There's been no news, but anything is possible. Perhaps they will do some for the new series, although I suspect that Bandai has the master toy licence for Frontier locked down for a couple of years at lleast. Graham
  2. Just to reconfirm, the YF-21 will come with 2 x gunpods, the display stand and FAST Packs. I'm pretty sure it also comes with the Fold booster attachments, but NOT the actual fold booster. And no I have not lost interest in Macross, just real life (work & family) has been getting in the way too much recently. I do plan to finish the SV-51 review, probably after Christmas. Although I'm at the stage where I can transform the SV-51 quite quickly, I'm not sure my skill level is up to a video yet. Graham
  3. It sounds like Guld should be afraid, very afraid! Graham
  4. Will be getting my second Nora tomorrow. Definitely the best, most trouble-free toy Yamato have made recently. Graham
  5. Gotta compare the Roy Focker one with my 25th anniversery concert Roy Focker T-shirt. If they are the same (and at first glance they look the same), I will be kinda pissed, as that was suppposed to be a concert exclusive....Grrrrrrr! Now all the plebs will be wearing them. Graham
  6. Waiting for my Razor DVD to get arrive from Amazon, hope it gets here before Christmas. Dying to see it. Graham
  7. Just saw the Helldiver and Brocken in the shops here for HK$95 each (US$12.18), but decided to pass due to serious shortage of money and lack of space. I may break down later and pick up a Helldiver for shits and giggles. Even though I'm not a fan of PVC dog poo toys, I do love Helldivers. Graham
  8. The anime version Dragonar-01 is out here in Hong Kong. Saw it selling for HK$499 (US$63.97). I'd buy it, but money is so tight at the moment, with it being Christmas. Graham
  9. Nora, she's a big lass, but she's tight. Not sure you should be posting about taking a look under her flap. After all there might be children reading this thread. Graham
  10. Should be getting mine later today. Heh, Heh, heh. Graham
  11. I was referring to the use of the phrase "teh cool" in a recent post. Anyway, back on topic, I would say there is a very high probablity that the VF-25 has traditional VF-1 type swing wings in Fighter & Gerwalk modes, but not in Battroid mode. I'm dying to see a pic of the back of the battroid though, as the wings seem to fold differently to any other battroid, i.e. instead of folding flat against the back like on the VF-1, VF-0, VF-17 & VF-5000, they seem to sit at a 90 degree angle to the back. Graham
  12. [Grammar Nazi] General note to all: Can we please not use teen net-slang phrases such as "teh cool", "Teh roxxor" etc, on the Macrossworld forums. [/Grammar Nazi] Certain standards are to be maintained here and repeat offenders will be tarred and feathered before being banished to the Row-Boat-Tech forums! Graham
  13. While it's great that pics of the VF-25 has been published, I'm hoping we get some clear pics of the VF-171 in all three modes soon. Graham
  14. I'm wondering are the bugs (alien life forms) we have seen so far, just the first wave and perhaps later we might see more advanced 'second wave 'humanoid enemies. Graham
  15. Quite happy with the amount of publicity Frontier is getting so far with the preview movies, various websites, magazine articles and the upcoming Shonen Ace manga, which should all help boost popularity of the series. I think Big West has finally woken up to the fact that they do need to promote Macross more. Graham
  16. Yes. Graham
  17. The only other VF shown using a fold booster was the VF-17 and it could only just take the stresses involved. Older VFs were not stressed to be able to use the fold booster. Graham
  18. Hopefully, the white and purple was just a placeholder scheme and won't be seen in the actual show. Graham
  19. That's great that that is confirmed. However, it still leaves the question unanswered as to who is flying the white & purple (or some say blue) VF-25 in the preview clips? Graham
  20. A perfect version of Macross Plus, would be the movie, with all the missing battle scenes from the OVA edited in. Graham
  21. A few different theories on why the 2059 era VF-25 & VF-171 are shown carrying external ordnance on the wings, when in the 2040s’ internal weapon bays were standard: - Even if the VF-25 & VF-171 have stealth capability, perhaps the bugs have some method to easily detect them anyway, rendering Stealth useless. Thus the VFs might as well carry more weapons externally, rather than just be limited to what is in their internal weapon bays. Perhaps by 2059, advances in active stealth technology allow for carriage of external weapons while still maintaining stealth. Stealth technology may be restricted to UN military forces only and forbidden to civilian defense organizations, such as SMS. Thus it makes sense to carry more weapons externally as you don't have to worry about compromising stealth if you don’t have it. Graham
  22. I'm calling it a "J' for the moment, rather than a "D", to avoid confusion, as not every member here has watched Macross 7, where as probably everyone has seen SDFM TV. Besides, the side view pic of the head I posted quite resembles a "J" IMO. It's even got the pointy chin. Graham
  23. Some thoughts on stealth in the Macross universe. The VF-0 series was designed as a testbed for Overtechnology designed for future variable fighters. Presumably the active stealth system was part of this Overtechnology being tested. IMO It is most unlikely that the VF-1 series featured an active stealth system. I do not think that all VFs have stealth, unless it is specifically stated. This means that only the SV-51, VF-0, YF-19, VF-19, YF-21 & VF-22 feature active stealth systems and only the VF-17 and possibly the YF-21 & VF-22 feature passive stealth. We know extremely little about the Cyclops radar, other than what the Compendium states, which is: “Cross dimension radar developed with Overtechnology which can detect PCS readings”. Where are people getting that Cyclops can detect VFs that are using active or passive stealth? Even assuming that a Cyclops radar or other advanced system can to some degree detect Stealth VFs, I would imagine that the detection ability varies depending on the technology level and power of the stealth system Vs. the technology level and power of the stealth-detection system. i.e. a VF with a more technologically advanced and powerful Stealth system, such as the YF-21, could probably slip by an older less advanced and less powerful detection system, whereas a newer detection system may have a greater chance of spotting it. Possibly stealth capability is restricted to UN forces only by law and civilian fleet defense forces are forbidden from possessing this capability. In the event that a colony fleet rebelled against the UN, their not having stealth would give the UN forces who did have stealthy VFs a huge advantages in battle. Spiritia detection systems such as possessed by the Varauta seem to render both passive and active stealth systems ineffective. Graham
  24. Surprised that nobody has commented on the "J" head side view shown in the MBS banner (see pic below). I really like the look of the head from the side. Graham
