Interesting, Amazon Japan lists the run time of DVD # 2 as 95 minutes, which would seem to imply 4 episodes on the disc. This works out to 23.75 minutes per episode, which seems about the right length for an anime TV series episode. If we divide 95 minutes by 3 episodes, we get 31.66 minutes, which seems to long for an episode. Graham -

Wow, what a fantastic second episode. Whatever faults there may have been with the broadcast version of episode # 1 (and to be honest they were relatively minor faults with pacing and editing), Kawamori and co have thoroughly redeemed themselves with episode # 2. It definitely seems to be following the manga fairly closely so far. Graham -

Anybody gonna take a bash at translating the Q&A in the latest Newtype? I'm especially curious to know the answer to why Ranka's hair seems to move by itself! Graham -

I'm guessing the "Yakku Deculture Edition" will be the Deculture edition with the new footage from the broadcast version of episode # 1 inserted into it, i.e. the extra concert footage. That would be fantastic. I'm definitely ordering the DVDs. No plan to upgrade to BluRay for many years. Graham -

Just wondering the exact meaning of the above statement? Does it mean there will be a total of 9 disks? If yes, as most anime TV series DVDs contain 4 episodes, that could mean the series is 36 episodes long in total! More han the previously rumored 26 episodes! Or am I reading to much into it? IIRC, in the manga, it mentions that because Alto transferred into the flight class in mid-semester, he missed out on the SMS selection process. Graham -
Blue VF-25 in fighter mode can be seen in the attached pic, as can the tan (cannon fodder?) VF-25 in fighter mode. For Mikhail's VF-25 battroid using the long range energy sniper rifle, check out the Frontier Manga chapter #2 thread. Graham

Release dates often remain highly fluid, based on how much the molds need to be tweaked after they are cut. Even with CAD CAM designs and tooling there is always a certain amount of fine tuning that needs to be done. Graham -

Also, School tie colors. Alto is red, Mikhail is blue & Luca is green. Graham -
Just trying to think of all the possible toy variations that Bandai could make, based on the mecha that has been shown so far in the anime, hobby magazines and the manga: - VF-25S Ozma (grey w/yellow and black trim) with Armored Pack. VF-25S Ozma (grey w/yellow and black trim) with Super Pack. VF-25F Alto (white with red and black trim) with Super Pack. VF-25F(?) Mikhail (blue with white trim(?)) with sniper rifle. (shown in manga and hobby mag). VF-25A(?) Luca (green). VF-25A(?) Cannon Fodder (brown) (shown in hobby mag) VF-171D(?) 2 head lasers. VF-171S(?) (shown in Manga) 4 head lasers. VB-6 Konig Monster. Blue Q-Rau Lambda Red Q-Rau Lambda. Big Red Bug. Little Yellow Bug. Mystery Purple VF. VF-1J Gate Guard. Ghost Drones. Anything else I'm forgetting? Graham

Had dinner with 3 people from Yamato last night and was told the release date for the YF-21 is end of April or early May. Not sure why you guys having been saying it's going to be released on the 9th or 10th April? Graham -

Based on the Macrossworld poll taken when the Deculture edition aired in December, it scored 82.56%, or 232 out of a 281 Mwers that watched the Deculture edition rated it as 'Oh baby! I need new pants' (highest rating). For the current poll for the broadacst version, there is no category for 'I need new pants'. Only a category, for loved both the Deculture and Broadcast versions, so a direct comparison of polls is not really possible. However the current figures are: 47 out of 77 Mwers (61.04%) voted that they loved both editions. Graham -

Damn, burnt the file to DVD, but none of my three standalone DVD players will play it. Codecs not right I guess. Have to watch it on my office laptop, as the DVD drive on my ancient, creaking home PC is shot also. Graham -

Shinsen did a pretty good Job of the Deculture vesion subs. I think most people here were pretty happy with it. It was certainly light years better than the Seiyan subs version. Graham -

With each meeting, I'm trying to persuade them to go for the M7 licence as I think there is definitely enough demand now for a good 1/60 VF-22 Max, Millia & Gamlin, VF-11B/D, VF-17D/S Dimoand Force and VF-17S Milia and VF-19Kai/F/S. Graham
