And if she's a captain in SMS, why is she dressed as a school girl? Silly question, I guess in manga/anime you CAN be a school girl and a captain. Graham -

Macross Frontier News Thread *Read 1st post*
Graham replied to azrael's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Here's scans of the Macross Fronter sections from the new April 2008 issues of Dengeki Hobby Magazine and Hobby Japan Magazine. No new Frontier toy news this month, but there are a couple of good pictures showing the Macross 25 city ship (Island 1?), that give us a better idea of the size of the city. It's definitely bigger than City 7, by several orders of magnitude. Two lengths are mentioned in one of the articles, 6km and 15km. Perhaps this is the width and length of the city ship? Anyone care to translate the articles? Graham -
Bandai 1/72 Scale Macross Frontier Plastic Models
Graham replied to Graham's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Please bear in mind that what is being shown is basically just non-articulated statues printed out on a rapid prototyping machine from the anime CAD files. They where just quickly made so Bandai had something to show. They are not at all representative of what Bandai's finished product will be. Graham -
Bandai 1/72 Scale Macross Frontier Plastic Models
Graham replied to Graham's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
It's all about money my friend. You think Yamato and Hasegawa don't want to make toys and models for Frontier? Of course they do! But Bandai is the major sponsor for Frontier, which means they paid several million bucks in sponsorship, which means they get the exclusive toy and model licensing rights for at least a couple of years. Nope, that'll be series two. Guess again. Graham

Already posted in the toys forum, with additional photos. Graham -
No, Yamato's web-shop does not ship overseas, so I guess it's going to be the normal channels to try to get this. Graham
-
I just spoke with Yamato about an hour ago and they said it is not just a Wonder Festival exclusive, but will also be sold through their online web-shop. Here's another photo from MWer: SaveRoobotech. Graham

This is the official thread to discuss the upcoming 1/72 scale VF-25 plastic model kits from Bandai. This post will be edited with new pictures as they become available, so that members can keep checking this post for the latest info. Both waterslide decals and peel-and-apply stickers will be included. Molded primarily in white and black plastic. The vast majority of striping and markings will need to be applied using the included decals *or* stickers---both sheets have identical markings, choose which type you wish to apply. Snap-fit assembly like any Gundam or Zoid kit. No paint or glue needed. If you want to see everything that's in the kit including the instructions, go here: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10075554 Landing gear is removable, but not retractable. Transformation is perfect (if you ignore the gear and hands). First release is Alto's, then Ozma's.

Yes, there are differences in sculpt between 1/60 and 1/48, but this is the wrong thread. Ask in the 1/60 VF-1 thread and I'll go over a few of the differences. Graham
-
Changed the thread title to reflect there are now 2 different scales of toys coming from Bandai (1/60 DX and 1/100). Graham
-
Interesting. I wonder if these 1/100 action figures will be more like HCM-Pro, MSiA, GFF, or something new altogether? I hope the former, not the latter two, as I hate PVC toys with a passion. Hopefully these 1/00 action figures will still be transformable and Bandai will make the VF-171 and new Q-Raus. At least 1/100 will be in scale with Yamato's existing VB-6 toy. Now one of our intrepid sticker makes needs to make up a set of SMS markings for Yamato's VB-6. Graham

Thought I'd start a dedicated thread for discussing Yamato's upcomin large scale Minmay figure. First two pics thanks to MWer: Save Robotech Graham

Photos from Winter Wonder Festival 2008. Thanks to MWer: SaveRobotech. As far as we know so far, these are photos of: - A rapid prototype of the 1/60 scale DX VF-25 Super. A rapid prototypes of the 1/72 scale VF-25 battroid and fighter mode plastic model kit. From the photos, its obvious that these were knocked out extremely quickly on a rapid prototype machine from the anime CG files and have no articulation or moving parts. Basically they are not representative of what the final product will be like and were probably made just so Bandai would have a rough concept to show at Wonder Festival. Note in the sign on the left (3rd pic below), there's also mention of 1/100 scale. Can somebody please translate what it says. Graham

Those are just the early GN-U prototypes still. Trust me, the final production versions will not have those big seams. Graham
-
Yeah, right. And I've got the new Minmay doll with "working mouth action" under my desk as well. Contrary to popular opinion, I don't get pre-release prototypes of every new item. Graham
-
My opinion is completely opposite. I think the GN-U sculpts and proportions look far better than the overy stylized Revoltech sculpts. Yamao gets my money this time. Graham
