  1. Ya' know I'm still not convinced we will be getting a 1/100 toy line. All we have seen is a single photo supposedly of an unpainted prototype Gerwalk mode VF-25, which somebody said was the 1/100. However, there were no signs or placards in the photo indicating what exactly the prototype was. There hasn't been any official mention from Bandai of the 1/100 for months and months now. Also, the hobby mags have had good coverage of the 1/60 DX toy, 1/72 plamodel and the gashapons, but nada, zip, zilch on any 1/100. I hope I'm wrong, but I'm not holding my breath. Graham
  2. Battroid and Gerwalk mode look nice, despite the somewhat unflattering Gerwalk pose. Fight mode looks not so good, but would propapbly look much better with the gear up and on a display stand. I wonder will the red and black trim be Bandai's rub on transfers (which I hate), or foil stickers (which I hate eevn more), or water slide decals, which I think Bandai hasn't used in ages. Graham
  3. Anybody else notice that the binoculars that Alto uses on Gallia 4 in episode 14 are the same as Hikaru uses in episode 9 of SDFM TV series. I'll post screen grabs and line art later. Graham
  4. Some of the magazine scans have already shown pics of the SV-51 in Nora and cannon fodder colors (IIRC). If you wanna read back through all the posts, the pics should still be there somewhere. Graham
  5. The scene with Sheyrl and Alto in the locker with the vibrating phone. Graham
  6. I guess a lot of it comes down to which you grew up watching and heard first. I was exposed to Macross first and didn't see any RT until years later. I'm biased and love the Macross music. I can't stand the RT stuff, it's pure cheese and very inapropriate IMO. But each to his/her own I guess. Graham
  7. Have to rewatch, but I'm pretty sure we have seen several gunpod kills of the red Vajras in the last several episodes. Graham
  8. That's because Bandai has the exclusive toy and model license for Frontier. And before people start saying "but what about the Klan Klan figure by Megahouse". Remember, Megahouse is owned by Bandai. Graham
  9. Sorry, probably won't happen, not in 1/60 anyway. Never say never, but the chance is not very high. Expect to see it in the 1/200 scale Macross Variable Fighter Collection series though. Graham
  10. It's probably the SHE VF-19 Fire Valk. Anyway, keep this on topic to Frontier toys please. Graham
  11. And they put out the VF-2SS kit 16 fricken years ago! Graham
  12. Any confirmation such as a sign which clearly states that that that is the 1/100 toy and not the 1/60 DX toy or 1/72 model? Graham
  13. The head is just a press fit. It is not supposed to be screwed on. It is designed to come off, so you can remove the nose cone. Graham
  14. Wonder if we will get removable intake covers? Graham
  15. The VF-17 is called Nightmare, not the VF-14. The VF-14 is called Vampire, at least the version in the Dreamcast M3 game (which is canon). The version shown in M7 is different. Graham
  16. Picked up chapter 7 just before I left for my holiday in UK, but obviously, I won't be able to start to scan it until I return in the second week of August. Chapter 7 spoilers Graham
  17. Watch it on Keyhole live (if available), then download and watch the raws as soon as they are out, then download and watch all the various fansubbed versions. I don't understand how people can wait to watch it, I can't. Graham
  18. Enough with the salad already. This is a Frontier news thread. Graham
  19. I had no probolem with the small amount of reused footage. hardly noticed it and I've been watching every ep 6 times or more. Likewise, I had no problems with the pacing of this ep. Thought it was fine. I'm curious though as to why Alto felt the need to eject the back mounted armoured packs. Even if he's already fired of all the missiles from those packs, he's losing the beam cannons and giving up a lot of thrust. Ozma has already shown that the Armored VF-25 can manauever in tight quarters. Graham
  20. Yes, it's new, not the old 1/60. Graham
  21. An earlier pic of the back of the shield detached from the arm shows it has a cross shape peg on the back for attaching to the arm. Graham
  22. Nah, made a mistake. It was my copy of Great mechanics DX 5 that shipped from HMV Japan, not the Macross Chronicles. Graham
  23. The early CG art of the VF-25F fighter and gerwalk modes published online and in the hobby magazines showed the VF-25F without the red and black stripes on the top of the head, just a plain white head top. I'll have to rewatch eps 1 & 2 and the Deculture ep, again to see if I'm right, but I think when Gilliam had the VF-25F, it had a plain white head top. If my theory is correct, it wasn't repainted with the red and black head stripes until Alto joined SMS and started flying it. Graham
  24. Great Mechanics DX5 has a 10 page article on the VF-25. Here are the scans. Included on page 9 is some black and white lineart of both the single seat and dual seat cockpit, which I've been dying for lineart of. Enjoy. Graham P.S. Hopefully, somebody can translate the article in full.
  25. Kei's sub of 13 impressed me. Lunar's glaring "Remation Eater" error was so funny. WTF is a Remation Eater!!!! Graham
