  1. , Head laser I guess, although to be honest, I never really noticed the head laser on the VF-27 before. These are either the wing root/hip guns or the guns in the outboard engine nacelles. Not sure which. The reference to 'beam grenade' puzzles me. These are the ports that are clearly visible on the outboard engine nacelles. These have also clearly vbeen shown firing missiles in at least one episode. Hmm.....no mention of the inbuilt shield spike/knife. As Sketchly mentioned, the stats seem far from complete. Hopefully, more info will be forthcoming soon. Graham
  2. These are obviosly the head lasers. I'm guessing these are the wing root/hip guns. Interesting that there is a choice of weapons here. Interesting choice of caliber. No mention of the rate of fire, ammo capacity or whether it can use detachable ammo magazines? Good, confirmation that the guns use MDE ammo, not just the missiles. I'm guessing this is something to help the pilots withstand the high gs. Heh, I've posted several times previous in the last few years hat I think next-gen VFs would have some sort of inertial damper system to help pilots withstand high g-forces. Hmmm....no mention of the VF-25's ability to mount wing mounted ordnance? Although we never see them mounting missiles on the wings in the series, we did see it in the first promo clip and 3 attachment points per wing are clearly shown. Graham
  3. Interesting theory. Graham
  4. The Super & Strike parts (AKA FAST Packs), were only designed to be used on the VF-1 for use in space, where lift is not an issue. They were not designed for use in an atmosphere. Anyway, as long as there is sufficient thrust, I'd imagine that drag would be more of a problem than lift as the VF-1's FAST packs were not exactly aerodynamic. Later VFs, such as the VF-11C, VF-19F/S and VF-17D/S had more aerodynamic FAST packs which could be used in an atmosphere (see M7 ep # 44 Operation Stargazer). Graham
  5. The October issues's been out more than three weeks already! The November issue will be out in about 6 more days. I'll have to dig up my copy of the October issue to check what was in it. IIRC, I don't think there was too much news and either me or somebody else probably posted scans already about three weeks ago anyway. Graham
  6. Guys, stay on topic please. This thread is purely to discuss the upcoming Bandai 1/60 scale DX VF-25 toys, NOT to talk about the use of CG in the Macross Zero movie. Graham
  7. And although technically rather well done, it is IMO rather ugly. Graham
  8. Heh, have you seen the sticker and Decal sheets for Alto's VF-25F? Its has tons of markings. Graham
  9. Not in an anime, but we did in the PS2 game. Graham
  10. Don't have access to ep 23 at the moment, but when I watched the GG sub yesterday, I seem to recall Luca(?) mentioning something about how the missiles (or rounds) contain powdred Vajra, or Vajra fragments or something like that, which is why they work on Vajra.........or I may have just been dreaming it. Graham
  11. Actually, in that scene, I thought it was the wing missiles firing from the left and right wings. Have to fire up the laptop nad watch that scene again more carefully. Graham
  12. Heh, the early propmotion footage also showed the VF-25 with missiles on the wings and taking out Vajra in fighter mode using the wing root lasers. Graham
  13. I'm also gonna tentatively call BS on these spoilers. Not saying it's not possible, just unlikely. Graham
  14. That's the IHP resin kits. Graham
  15. SW ep III, Vader's small hands. Graham
  16. 2ch = the site is run by 2 guys called Chan. 4ch = run by 4 guys (or girls), all surnamed Chan. At least that's what I thought. But seriously, I have no idea, I never visit either site. Graham
  17. Asked and answered. Graham
  18. EMS here in HK charges purely on weight. Graham
  19. Yeah, first I've ever heard of Crunchyroll as well. Had to Google it. Graham
  20. Frak No! Not right now! Arghhhhhhhh! This is potentially terrible news! Can't whowever 'they' are wait until after the show is finished and all 25 episodes have been fansubbed first. I don't want the fansubbers to drop Frontier because it's been licenced and then we have to wait who knows how long (a couple of years maybe!), to see the last couple of episodes subbed (or yuk, dubbed) in English in an official release. While of course I'm happy for an official release outside of Japan, we are so close to the end now, I want eps 24 and 25 fansubbed within days of their airing on Japanese TV. Graham
  21. You missed VF-171EX standard version, i.e. as flown by Alto's wingmen (white with black and grey trim as far as I can tell). I don't see a Diamond Force paint variation as likely at all. Graham
  22. My thinking for this was as follows:- Firstly, although the Hasegawa fighter mode kits are fantastic, most of us don't have the skill, time or patience to do justice to them. Yet, many people here love fighter mode. I'm an absolute crap model builder and the only way for me to have some nicely painted Hasegawa fighters, is to get somebody to paint them for me, which is very expensive. Secondly, While the Yamato 1/60 PT toys are great, they are expensive and as mentioned, many us us just transform them a few times and then leave them in one mode. Also, some of them can be a little big to leave lying around on the desk and just casually pick up and fly around. Also, of course depending on the toy, there may be looking issues, which means you can't fly it around as much as you would like (1/48 with FPs, I'm talking about you)! A few people have commented about how beacuse of the Bandai VF100s line, they would not be interested in GNU fights. However, I'd just like to pooint out that the VF100s line is really pretty much an unknown quantity at this point. They may be great, or they may turn out to be horrible floppy messes, we don't know yet. I've really fallen in love with the GNU battroids and would like in scale fighters to match. Like most people here, I'm not too interested in a GNU VF-1 fighter, but I'd definitely but Macross Zero, Macross Plus, VFX-2 fighters. So to revise my original proposal, if these GNU fighters: - 1) Sell at a cheaper price point than the GNU battroids. 2) Have moveable swing wings. 3) Come with detachable wing missiles and FAST Packs. 4) Includes a display stand. 5) Have some removeable panels, e.g . engine nacelle covers. Would you buy them? PLease just a yes or no reply, aloong with any comments about what you would like to see in a FIGHTER. No comments about enemy mecha, destroids etc. This thread is not about those. Graham
  23. IMO, about the only animes where the mecha look great in GC are Macross Zero and Macross Frontier, but I may have a slight bias. Graham
  24. Definitely buying the VF-19A and white VF-11, they look great. Graham
  25. Finally saw the Roy, Max & Hikaru on sale in Animate yesterday, but decided to pass. While they where good toys back in the day, they don't really cut it anymore IMO. I may pick up one for my 4 year old though, as he is still too young for Yamatos. Graham
