  1. Yeah agred Lunar video quality is not the best, but ep 25 was much, much worse video quality wise IMO than their other eps. Graham
  2. Yep, I used name brand black Gundam markers and then did a vigerous post-wipe using my fingers with the occasional dab of saliva (of course washed later with soap and water to remove any smell). Very time consuming, but I think the result is quite good. Graham
  3. How is the fighter mode play. Is it decent, or is the game mostly geared towards battroid mode? Graham
  4. This is also giving me a headache. Basically, I'm just going to fill the first binder with issues 1-10, second binder with issues 11-20 etc. When all 50 issues have been released then I'll completely reorganize them into series order, according to the guide in the first issue. IMO, it's not worth doing that until all 50 issues are out. Graham
  5. Did anybody find the video quality of Lunar's release of ep # 25 really, really poor? I found the video quality much worse than other episodes Lunar have released. Really fuzzy, blurred and pixellated in places. Graham
  6. Wondering if Shinsen is a mostly female group as they seem to focus on some odd titles, like Prince of Tennis and some Clamp stuff. Graham
  7. Don't see why people are making a fuss about this pic. The Q-Rau is a war machine for use by a race of warriors. The pic simply illustrates how every part of the mecha can be used as a weapon. Graham
  8. VF-22 is confirmed. There have been several pics posted already of Max's pale blue VF-22 from M7 and Max wearing hs M7 flight helmet. I may be remembering wrongly, but I'm pretty sure that Milia's red VF-22 is also in the game as well. Graham
  9. Found a close up pic of the rear landing gear on the DX VF-25. (Joke, by the way) Graham
  10. And just to add, I've probably got close to 60 Yamatos and dont recall having a problem with the gear bay doors on any of them. Anyway, back to talking about the DX 1/60 VF-25. Graham
  11. LOL.....wins my award for funniest post of the day. Graham
  12. VF-25 Armored or Super. VF-17. Not sure if the VF-171 is in the game. Not interested in the VF-1. Too old tech for my tastes. Might be interesting to play a red Vajra. Graham
  13. Not defending Bandai, but just to point out that the VF-25 is supposed to have quite a large gullet. Graham
  14. Here's a few quick snaps of mine in battroid mode. These pics were taken before I'd finished applying all the stickers (about 90% done). Graham
  15. Ozma's looks like it's got no neck. I hope it can extend. I also hope we get some panel lining, at least basic stuff like the cooling vents on the wing-root guns. Looks like painted on nose sensors. Yamato would have made the sensors and nose veriers seperate peices of colored plastic. Not as good as I hope, but not too bad. Will definitely buy one of each. I hope the locking in fighter mode is better than the model kit. No new pics of the landing gear I see. Graham
  16. AFAIK, no LED. Graham
  17. Cybil, Basil and Manuel. Graham
  18. While it's not my favorite Macross anime, I've always liked Macross II. Gorgeous mecha designs, some good BGM and songs, Mikimoto chracter designs and good fight scenes. What's not to like? Graham
  19. I haven't started painting the landing gear on mine yet, I'll probably also just end up using Gundam markers. I also painted the cockpit frame by hand. Tried masking it in the begining, but it was too fiddly and I just don't have the patience to cut dozens of tiny bits of tape to fit. Plus the only tape I had in the house was electrical tape, which left a nasty residue on the cockpit and took ages to clean off. Haven't tried Alto yet. Will probably attempt him next weekend. Regult, I notice from your pics, you haven't trimmed off the parts where you trimmed or cut the off the sprue. I think about a third of the time I took building the kit was taken up by using a scapel and file for trimming after I clipped the parts off the sprue. Graham
  20. Just saw one of the shops in Tai Yuen Street, Wanchai had a stack of 12 kits on the table outside their shop, selling for HK$329 each. I think the name of the shop is Hung Hing Wholesale. It's the shop on the right hand side of the street, if you are entering Tai Yuen Streen from Johnston Road. Graham
  21. My 4 year really likes it. I'm letting him play with it only under my supervison. Thing is when my back's turned, he keeps trying to stuff Play-Doh up the gun barrels! LOL. Graham
  22. For all HK based members. Heh, went to the Waile Models on Wanchai road again today at lunch and they had even increased the price to HK$630 (wankers)! Then I walked 5 minutes down the road to the little hobby shop on Cross Lane (not sure of the shop's name) and they had 2 or 3 cartons of the kit, which they were selling for HK$299 per kit! Graham
  23. I also used the sticker for the crotch area. I built my kit first before applying the stickers, but discovered after that there are some stickers that should be applied during assembly, such as the long black stripes on the wings. If you apply them after assembly, you will have to trim some of the sticker, as the end of the wing is hidden inside the wing glove (think that's the correct technical name). Graham
  24. Yes, I used the Gundam marker for the circle-bar verniers. I also painted the visor, but I painted it on the inside, so the paint wont rub off. The paint is starting to rub off the canopy frame on mine. I also painted the bklack stipe on the front center chest plate and that started to rubb off afer one transformation, so I used the sticker, which looks pretty good. Graham
  25. My first exposure to Macross was through the Imai and Arii plastic model kits were imported and sold in UK toy shops in 1983. I loved the mechas designs and Takani box art and bought as many kit as my meagre pocket money at that time would allow. From my time spent in HK in the mid-to-late 70s', I knew the mecha were from a Japanese cartoon (hadn't heard of the word 'anime' back then). I promised myself that I would one day, somehow find and watch this cartoon. Fast forward to 1986 and I'm back in HK for a holiday and I catch my first episode of Macross on TV and was blown away. Moved back to live in HK one year later in 1987. In 1988 IIRC, they showed DYRL at the cinema during the summer and I watched it several times. That was were my present love for Macross, that continues to this day truely started. From then on, I spent vast amounts of time and money, searching for little out of the way hobby shops all over HK, trying to track down whatever Macross merchandise I could find. Ah, the fun dark days before the internet, trying to track down my holy grail of the 1/55 VF-1S Strike Valkyrie. Graham
