  1. The booklet that comes with DVD # 5 has a nice color pic of the VF-25F in fighter mode with Super Packs and Fold Booster attached. Graham
  2. Here's the link to the publisher's website, showing the cover image and the ISBN number. Great Mechanics DX 7 Graham
  3. I'm gonna call foul about the VF-25S DX being out already. I just checked the Yahoo Japan auction site, which is an excellent resource to learn if a toy has actually been released and no box pics are showing up yet. Whoever posted those pics is probably just somebody who has connections with either Bandai or the factory that's making them. Graham
  4. The pinned thread on where to buy in Macross toys in HK in the 'where to buy' section may be helpful. See: here. Graham
  5. Anything on the VFs? I may pass this issue if it's only ships. VFs are my main interest. Graham
  6. Just received Macross Frontier DVD No.5 from Amazon.jp and it comes with the nice gift of a hard case that you can use to store DVDs 1-5. Features some nice art of the Characters lying on grass and a pic of Ranka's phone on he spine. Graham
  7. Yes, but hey are very vocal. Graham
  8. OK, only just over 2 weeks to go til' the Alto VF-25F and Ozma VF-25S hit the stores, if the rumored release date of 31st December is correct. Graham
  9. I've never tried to shield him from violence and always actually encouraged him to play with toy swords and guns. Heck we'll even be starting a father and son Thai boxing class in the new year. But I'm just wondering if the new show is going over the limit for his age. I'll probably continue to let him watch as he really enjoys the show and it doesn't seem to give him nightmares. I t would probably bother him more if I didn't let him watch any more. Graham
  10. Wow, eps 9 and 10 were pretty dark and violent. Not sure if I'm gonna let my 4 1/2 year old watch ep 10, seeing how the is killed by Grevious. I probably wouldn't have let him watch ep 9 either, if I'd have known how the at the end. Not only was the death quite graphic, but I had a hard time explaining why one baddie is killing another baddie when they are both supposed to be on the same side. May having to start vetting episodes, before letting him watch if this trend continues. Graham
  11. That's what I'm doing, putting Mecha and characters in folder 1 and all the other stuff in folder 2. Graham
  12. Noticed another error with the CG models. The VF-171EX is given the same canopy as the regular VF-171, which is of course incorrect. Graham
  13. Looks stunning in the latest pics and a far superior sculpt to the 1/60 DX. For those of you saying that it looks the same as the 1/60, I have just one question. Are you blind? Graham
  14. Never watch basketball (find it boring) and haven't played since high school 23 years ago.........LOL! As you can gather, a basketball anime, even it it is with robots and by Kawamori, is way, way down on my list of things to follow. Graham
  15. What have you guys got against Alto? Personally, I thought he was a fine character. Not constantly whinning or being angsty, like many of the Gundam brat pilots, e.g. the Amuro, Camile, the one in Stardust Memory who's name escapes me for now, etc. He was willing to fight to protect what he believed in and didn't constantly spout pacifist slogans. Graham
  16. Pass, no thanks. I have no interest in basketball playing robots. C'mon Shoji, let's have more Macross! Graham
  17. I also doubt the whole "Bandai's gonna release standalone Super parts for the kits' thing. Graham
  18. That is correct. Yamato's production run sizes are often quite small. Graham
  19. Hope we get to see more of the Commando battledroids. They were pretty cool. Graham
  20. By a few tweaks, you mean completely remove Jar Jar from the prequel trilogy and have Anakin starting as a young teen in the first movie, not as a young kid. Graham
  21. It would be great if these came out in time for Christmas. I really want to have them under my tree to open on Christmas morning. Graham
  22. When discussing whether Yamato is too greedy, one really needs to discuss this using Yen prices, not US prices, which are currently artificially high due to the crappy exchange rate. And of course you should not factor in shipping cost to you overseas as that is nothing to do with Yamato. Anyway IIRC, a standard 1/48 VF-1 without FAST Packs cost Yamato somewhere between 4,500 to 5,000 Yen each to produce. This is what Yamato has to pay the factory in China. The MSRP in Japan for a 1/48 VF-1 is 14,800 Yen, but this is of course not what Yamato sells the toys for. Again if I remember correctly what I was told, Yamato will normally sell the toys to a wholesaler at about 50-60% off the MSRP. The wholesaller will then sell the toy to a retail store at about 25-30% less than MSRP. The retail store then marks up to MSRP, or there abouts. Yamato is only actually making about 1,000 to 2,000 yen per 1/48. Graham
  23. I definitely take issue with your use of the phrase "completely flawed products".. While the occasional Yamato product may have QC issues, some, minor, some major, it is hardly fair to label all their products this way. Graham
  24. Previously a release date of Dec 31 was mentiones, but I'm not sure if that still stands. Graham
  25. Dolph Lungren Punisher rules! Graham
