  1. LOL....a 'super strike armor part'! Now that I'd like to see. Correct name how they refer to it in the series is 'Armored Pack'. Graham
  2. Fantastic, finally some new pics of the Super Packs showing full markings. Looks great. Graham
  3. as i mentioned previously, assembly inspection qc was stepped up after vf-1J and there have been very few breakages since then.graham (from phone)
  4. Just had another talk with Yamato's HK-based QC guy and he is at least now discussing with the Chinese factory ways to solve the shoulder cracking problem. On the two suggestions I put forward of 1) making the pin a smaller diameter and 2) changing the shoulder joint material from ABS to POM, the factory has come back with the following comments: - 1) Regarding making the pin a smaller diameter, the factory is worried that it may not be secure enough and may work it's way out. Personaly, this wouldn't bother me. I'd rather have a loose pin than a shoulder that cracks. Anyway, a loose pin can be secured easily enough. 2) Just changing to POM without any other changes would only bring a marginal increase in strength. This would need to be comined with soomething else, such as a smaller diameter pin or actually making the part thicker (retooling needed). Will be meeting with him tonight for a mutual friend's wedding dinner and will discuss further. Graham
  5. Got too annoyed with the black paint rubbing off the right LERX/Swing bar on the Ozma VF-25S, so went over the offending area with a black Gundam marker last night. Not a perfect color match, but acceptable. Graham
  6. Or in the case of the lo-tech folks, set your VCRs! Graham
  7. LOL, looks that that poor Legioss is takin' it where the sun don't shine. Graham
  8. Back in the year 2002 I was lucky enough to get a chance to visit Port Merion. Fantastic place. Had great fun looking around and pretending I was No.6. Will scan and post some of the pics later. Graham
  9. Will be starting on my indepth review this weekend. Graham
  10. Number Six: "Who is Number One?" Number Two: "You are Number Six." Six of one, half a dozen of the other really! Graham
  11. The neck mod looks good and simple. Does anybody know which (if any) Revoltech toys come with the correct color double joint to use for the VF-25S neck. Will pick up the Revoltech to canabalise for the joint, once I know which one. Graham
  12. Here's the new official thread for posting news about and discussing Yamato's line of 1/60 scale Destroids. Not sure the old tread was closed as it was only 29 pages long and there was no funny business going on. Anyway.........discuss! Graham
  13. Changed the thread title. Might as well make this the new official thread, that then starting another new one. Graham
  14. The Prisoner is my all time favourite TV show and Patrick McGoohan was a fantastic actor. R.I.P Number 6, you will be greatly missed. “I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed, or numbered! My life is my own.” Graham
  15. Still hoping for a complete Macross Frontier BGM CD. Graham
  16. The defender is very cool. Lots of detail and fun to disassemble as well. Graham
  17. Stay on topic please. This is not the place to discuss Buffy the freakin' vampire slayer, Ewoks, Gungans, lightsaber duels, James Cameron or George Lucas! Graham
  18. Also, retransformed all 4 of mine over the weekend and all still fine. Graham
  19. Wicked Ace, have you been obsessively rubbing your VF-25F or something to get the paint to come of that quickly? Enquiring minds want to know? Graham
  20. That wasn't so much a redo, as a repaint with a couple of extra gimmicks and extra weapons. Graham
  21. Might give it a try if it gets fansubbed. From those still pics though the mecha designs are not appealing enough to make me want to watch a raw. Graham
  22. I think you guys are being a bit optimistic hoping for the Macross Quarter toy to be in the US$50 - US$100 price range. I'd expect an absolute minimum price of US$120. Just look at the price gouging we are getting on the VF-25 toys at the moment. Graham
  23. Do you mean the mechanism for locking the groin peice in place in battroid mode, i.e. the tab which folds down and plugs into a hole? If yes, I've found that they are fairly unsecure on both my Ozma and Alto and often come unlocked during handling. I would really have liked Bandai to come up with a more secure locking mechanism. Just like on Yamato's YF-19 in battroid mode, you have to learn how and how not to hold the toy correctly when handling (playing with) it. Graham
  24. Yeah, push the 5-hole shoulder blocks closer to the chest. Difficult to see if you have the chest and nosecone correct, as the gunpod is blocking the view. Graham
  25. You should get rid of that pile of kibble on the right side of your cabinet! Graham
