Official Bandai 1/60 Scale DX Toy Thread Ver.5
Graham replied to azrael's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
My theory is that there just weren't enough of the Wing Boosters produced in time. I'm sure when production catches up with demand, the cannonn fodder uys would have got them as well. I'd still love Bandai to make a Cannon fodder DX, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. Anyway, in at least 2 other episodes, I'm sure we do see cannon fodder VF-25 with wing boosters. Graham -
OK, spoke with Yamato today. Confirmed the VF-22 is the Dynamite 7 Gamlin version. However, the pics weren't supposed to be released until this coming Friday, so somebody leaked them early. Also, the two YF-19 variations are not confirmed yet and may not be the final versions and have not been approved by BW yet. No photos of those should have been released and they certainly should not be offered for sale yet! The orange and white one will probably be offered for sale if approved, but after talking with Yamato today, the white, blue and red one may not and they may go with another variant. I did inform them that there is demand for a VF_X Ravens VF-19A and also a Focker version VF-19A. Graham

Official Bandai 1/60 Scale DX Toy Thread Ver.5
Graham replied to azrael's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
While the VF-25F Alto DX and VF-25S Ozma DX where mostly only sold in specialist Japanese toy and hobby shops here in Hong Kong, I find it extremely interesting and heartening that the VF-25G Michael DX and RVF-25 Luca DX are being widely sold in many normal toy shops all throughout Hong Kong. I've had several surprises over the last few weeks, walking in to toy shops and toy/stationery shops even in remote parts of HK, where I would normally never expect to find any Macross toys, to find that they are stocking the two newer DX. It's just so nice to be able to walk into normal toy stores and find Macross toys on the shelves. Ah, reminds me of the mid-80s' again. Graham -
I plan to display the DYRL Max 1A in battroid mode with FAST Packs like in the opening battle in DYRL. Be cool to pose with a 1/60 Regult if Yamato ever makes one. For the DYRL Max 1S, I want to display it in fighter mode on a flexi stand with 4 x UMM-7 micro-missile pods on the wings, so I can imagining it flying over the sea on Earth, like in the scene where Kakizaki gets wasted. Heh, I can happily confirm it is NOT a V.2 1/48 VF-1. Not even Yamato are that crazy. Graham

Worst Science Fiction Film of All Time
Graham replied to JELEINEN's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
I'm gonna have to go with the majority and say that Battlefield Earth is the worst sci-fi movie ever. And I can't believe somebody added The Last Starfighter a few pages back. That is an 80s' classic. The Gunstar is such a cool ship. Graham -

Yeah, but Dolph Lungren's mad priest/assasin character was great in that movie. I would have totally paid to see a movie just about that character staring Dolph. Graham -

I actually like Fifth Element and sorta have a soft sport for the RE movies. I bought all of them on DVD. Never was into the games, so any lack of consistency doesn't bother me. Graham -

Hence, why it is often referred to as 'Star Trek the motionless picture. Graham -
Macross TV vs. Macross F in Macross Crusade TCG

Cool for those that like em', but not my thing. I'll pass. Graham -
Hah, "blame the toys", this is obviously a cunning plan instigated by your wife to get you to stop collecting toys. She's probably seeded the area around your toys with itching powder and as soon as you throw away your toys, the itching will 'mysteriously' disappear. Of course when you attempt to buy any new toys it will come back again. Cunning are the ways of women. Graham

Actually, jenius has a review of the Kaiyodo and Movic variable VF-1 toys up on his Scorched Earth Toys website, surprised he didn't mention it. Graham

I got to try transforming that at Wonderfestival a couple of years ago. It was incredibly fiddly, extremely lose and had no locking at all that I can recall. From what I remember, many of the parts were joined together by wire or fishing line. Graham
-
Yes, but they were non transformable. I still have them. Graham

Max VF-1S has a black heat shield......WTF!!!!! It should be blue damn it! Sorry, I refuse to accept that black is anything but an animation error. Gonna have to pick up a second DYRL Max 1A when they come out, so I can I can snag the blue heatshield for the 1S. Oh well, planning to keep ithe Max 1S in fighter mode mostly anyway. Graham

That's from last month's hobby mags. New mags should be out by this Friday, so hoping for some new pics. Graham

It was posted in another thread, possibly in the custom toys and model thread IIRC. Anyway, here's some more pics. First pic shows my very quick photoshop modifications taht I proposed to Yamato. Graham

Jasonc, has anybody ever told you, you bear a resemblance to a young Jean-Claude Van Damme? Graham

I don't hate the VF-4. But it's never really appealed to me either. There's lots of other VFs I'd prefer to see made before the VF-4. While I'd like to say I have that much influence at Yamato, I doubt what I say will effect their final decision too much in the end. Graham
-
Definitely in the tens of thousands. Steel tooling is very expensive. Graham

Spartan would require all new toooling. No tooling from the Tomahawk/Defender/Phalanx can be reused. Tooling is very expensive. Yamato is not sure the Spartan would actually make a profit. Graham
