  1. Just want to call a quick time out from this whole 'Ohnogi' thing to have a quick rant about silly bloody made up internet phrases that don't make any sense, namely "Shipping War"! First time I ever heard this phrase was in this thread and I had to look it up as I had no idea what it means..........certainly, nothing to do with ships or shipping!!!!! If you said "shipping war" to me, I would have thought you were talking about the Battle of the Atlantic in WWII, were the U-boats and warships of the German Navy tried to destroy the convoys bringing supplies from the US to the UK. Or perhaps a cost cutting price war between modern day shipping companies. Or perhaps even at a stretch, the ongoing Somali piracy threat to shipping. Certainly, I would have never guessed in a million years that it refered to "Verbal arguments between people who have different opinions about romantic relationships between characters of a show, book, etc." (definition taken from www.urbandictionary.com). Rant off. Graham
  2. Far from a masterpiece IMO. At best I'd rate it a 'C-'. A typical throwaway actioneer of the period, with no real outstanding features. No desire to see it again. Strictly mediocre.
  3. That just made my day! Graham
  4. Awesome, can't wait to get this. Graham
  5. Do the mecha specs in the Armored instruction manual say what the packs on the forearms are? Can someone do a hi-res scan of the spec pages of the manual please.
  6. Woo! könig Monster listed on that screen shot of the Alto VF-25F Super!
  7. I'd agree that it's "not much better". I'd say it's actually significantly better than the older US fighters, in every area (sensors, agility, thrust etc). It's certainly done extremely well at kicking the ass of F15s, F16s and F/A18s in exercises so far. Seems to be second only to the F-22 IMO, and will in Tranch 3 configuration be superior to the F-35 in every area except stealth. Graham
  8. He doesn't get scared easily by TV. He watched the first Transformers movie on DVD and was OK with that and I let him watch cartoons with a fairly high level of violence, like Clone Wars, Gatchaman and Voltes 5, all of which he loves. Graham
  9. Just wondering if ROTF is suitable for 5 year olds? My son is begging me to take him to see it when opens next week. Not sure I'll enjoy sitting through two and a half hours of mindless Bay action featuring butt ugly bots though. Graham
  10. I was thinking it would be great if they can recreate the missions from VF-X2 and M3 and even add some new missions. Graham
  11. 1967 Spiderman forever, it's what I grew up watching and you can't beat the theme song, plus it gets very trippy and psychadelic at times. Graham
  12. As a Brit and huge fan of the Typhoon, I just think it would be increadibly cool if the US ended up buying hundreds of Eurofighters after the closure of the F-22 line, to bolster their A2A capability. Of course, it would never happen, but if it did, I would laugh my ass off for days. Graham
  13. Here's the scan of a single page article from a Hong Kong gaming magazine I picked up yesterday. If anybody can translate the Chinese text, please let us know if it reveals anything new or interesting. Graham
  14. Actually, I did keep my two Revy Regults, but they are the only Revys left.

  16. Yep, I really did throw all my Revys in the trash (YF-19, YF-21, VF-1A Hikaru & VF-1S Focker). I can be brutal sometimes. Graham
  17. I may be remembering wrongly, but I seem to recall an episode after Mac Quarter went pirate and Ozma and Cathy were exploring a wreck????? Graham
  18. Heh, so it's not a five-year mission to explore strange new worlds. To seek out new life and new civilizations. To boldly go where no man has gone before? Graham
  19. That's a matter of indidual opinion and personal taste. Personally, I prefer the GNUs. IMO, the Revys being made of PVC look cheap and the joints are actually the major turn off for me as they are visually unappealing. I think the GNU has about 70-80% of the articulation of a Revy, but is made of much better materials and looks much nicer. Again, just personal taste. I bought both the Revys and GNUs when they came out, but the Revys have all since been consigned to the trash, where as the GNUs are still in my display cabinet. Graham
  20. You mean the head lasers on the VF-25F, VF-25S and VF-25G (laser, singular)? Or the antenna on the RVF-25? Graham
  21. Heh. Just looking at the second pic again and I realised those weird looking things with tabs sticking out of the back are the unfinished feet..........LOL! Graham
  22. You guys can talk all you want about how "uber-awesome" or whatever a 1/2000 scale SDF-1 would be, but realistically how many of you are going to fork over US$550 plus shipping for this? Yes, I know back in the bad old dark days of the mid-to-late 90s' many of us (myself included), didn't bat an eyelid at handing over a grand for a mint or near mint 1/55 Strike Valk, VE-1 or VT-1. But in these tougher economic times, especially as many of us have mortgages, kids education fees and a dozen other damn expenses to pay off, how many of you will really get this, or even be able to justify getting this to your spouse. Graham
  23. Heh, haven't played MAF for ages. Completed the Macross Plus, Macross 7 and Macross Frontier stages, getting S on most and SS on some. Still a few without S though. I just never got started on the SDF Macross stages. For some reason, I just have no mood to fly the VF-1. Graham
