It really does look like Bandai's take on and refinement of the Yamato 1/48 with a bit of Yamcadia 1/60 V2 thrown into the mix. But, yeah, hardly surprising. As mentioned, there are only so many ways to make a high-end, large-scale transforming toy of the VF-1. Little disappointed that wing missiles have not been shown yet. Hope they will be included. Not getting the VF-1J, don't want to start a VF-1 collection all over again. But I will get a DYRL VF-1S Hikaru Strike Valk, when/if they release it.

Are the missiles in the leg bays the same as the VF-19 Advance? I haven't seen anybody post any photos of the leg bay missiles so far..

Is the head laser design of the YF-19 slightly different to the VF-19 Advance? I don't recall anybody posting about broken head lasers when the VF-19 Advance was released. One thing I didn't like about the VF-19 Advance and from the pics of the Bandai YF-19 is the too shallow angle of the canards. That is one area where Arcadia did a better job.

New Macross TV Series in 20xx (sometime this decade)
Graham replied to Tochiro's topic in Movies and TV Series
I wonder if the new series has been quietly dropped in favour of the second Delta movie, as there has been zero news about the new series for so long. -

Isn't this very old news? It's certainly been available here on Netflix HK for at least half a year (if not longer) already.- 3606 replies

Why on earth would you put the large, heavy reaction missiles on the wing tips and the smaller lighter air-to-air missiles on the inner wings.....LOL

New Macross TV Series in 20xx (sometime this decade)
Graham replied to Tochiro's topic in Movies and TV Series
Speak for yourself, I enjoyed both and I'm an old school SW and Pred fan. -
This opened here yesterday (Thursday), but haven't had any friends see it yet, so no feedback yet. I'm watching it with my son who is a big Predator fan on Saturday morning.

Deliverance is still one of my all time favorite movies.

So in the movie, what's the reason why Delta are using Lil' Drakens on the wings on their VF-31s? Answer with spoiler tags please in case anybody cares about spoilers.

New Macross TV Series in 20xx (sometime this decade)
Graham replied to Tochiro's topic in Movies and TV Series
I personally love Mac II, PLus, 7, Zero, Frontier and the first half of Delta. The only show that has really disappointed me was the second half of Delta. -

Personally, I still think Kawamori and Big West should make a formal apology for the second half of Delta. I wanna see them up on a stage bowing and grovelling and begging forgiveness. -

I never had any problem with Walkure, or the magical girl aspect of Delta. I actually really enjoyed episodes 1 -13. My main issue, besides how stupid and incompatent some of the characters behaved, is that we got absolutely no VF action from episodes 14 to 24. It's like, I dunno, Kawamori got up and walked away from the show (lure of easy Chinese money, wasn't it), leaving it the hands of a director with no experience of mecha anime.........LOL -
I hope they improved the front landing gear on the YF-19, as the mid-way hinge on my VF-19 Advance front landing gear is so lose, the front landing gear folds at the slightest touch of the fighter.

I may be in the minority, but I think Arad's VF-31S looks terrible wearing Mirage's Super Parts. The colours just don't match IMO.

New Macross TV Series in 20xx (sometime this decade)
Graham replied to Tochiro's topic in Movies and TV Series
Hopefully, every episode of the new series features at least 2 minutes of mecha action. See, I'm not greedy, just 2 minutes per episode would satisfy me, I'll be willing to let the rest of each episode be idols, singing, characters behaving stupidly, etc. As long as we don't have a situation like delta where episodes 14 - 23 featured no mecha action at all. -

I wanna see the new mecha designs ASAP. And I just hope this new show has more mecha action then Delta. -
I love Neil Blomkamp's movies. Excited about this. Shartlo Copley for Murphy!!

The Gatchaman toy I’ve waited my whole life for?
Graham replied to Slave IV's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
It's a fixed pose toy with miniimal to no articulation and just a few replaceable parts. How badly can they screw it up? Oh wait.............its Evolution Toys ! LOL- 79 replies

That looks pretty bad IMO and the CG anime eyes, just no, no, no for live action.

Quite looking forward to this. Love Predator and Predator 2 and Predators, wish we'd gotten a sequel to Predators. Didn't like the AvP movies though. The first one was barely passable, the second was crap.
