    Yamato stands

Got 1 of the new clear stands a couple of weeks ago, and was somewhat underwhelmed. I've only briefly tested it with the new 1/60 VF-11B in fighter mode so far, but was quite disappointed. As others have mentioned, the friction fit of the connector is insufficient to hold the figure against gravity at any but the most shallow angles. I imagine this stand will work much better with smaller, lighter toys such as the Mac Plus GNUs or the Bandai VF100's line. For the moment, the stand is back in it's box until I have the mood and patience to mess around with it again. Graham
  2. If ABS, I will buy. If PVC, I will pass. Graham
  3. Spoke to my regular toy dealer today & he said the VF-25G should be out next week.
  4. Watching it on Friday with BlackAces and Neova. Graham
  5. I would comment, but as I have no idea who Scud or the Maxx are, I won't. Graham
  6. Haven't been following what China is doing with fighter jets, but on seeing those pictures, my first thought was Chinese F-16 knock-off. Those factories in southern China will copy just about anything, from LV handbags, to the latest Nokia phones and now I guess jet fighters as well. Graham
  7. Getting both, but if I could only choose one, it would be hands down the DYRL version. I'm a huge fan of DYRL Valks, not so much of TV series colors. Graham
  8. Heh, when I read that something was swappable on the Armored VF-25S, I figured it might be the neck. Doesn't bother me too much, I can live with it. But agreed, that if several members on this site and others can come up with working extended necks that don't need to be swapped, then Bandai should have been able to do the same. Graham
  9. I'd guess it will be out by the end of this year. I don't think it will take Bandai another 12 months to get it out of the door. Still undecided if I will buy this. If it is transformable and if all the red and black markings are actually correctly colored plastic parts and not stickers or decals, I will buy it, if not, then not. I still think there is a possibility (about 15% chance), that Bandai will go the Hasegawa route and make this a highly detailed non-transforming fighter mode only kit, which would be great for WM Cheng and all the other traditionalist model kit guys. 10. Back when I was a kid in school in the 80s', we used to have F-111s and EF-111s fly over our school every day. Can't remember which US airbase in the UK they were flying from, but I used to think it was very cool. Graham
  11. IIRC, didn't Michael Ironside's character use twin Ingram SMGs? Graham
  12. Haven't seen TS yet, will see it this coming Friday. I presume it shows the start of the war between humans and Skynet, so the humans would likely still have more land/air/sea vehicles and men available in the early stages of the war, than in the later stages, as shown in T1 & T2. Graham
  13. Heh, are you complaining about the size of the box? If yes, you will be the only person ever in the history of Macrossworld to complain beacuse Yamato actually made a box smaller! Graham

    1/60 SV-51

Nora and the cannon fodder have less floppy wings than the Ivanov. Graham
  15. Saw that on the news on TV 2-3 nights ago. Interesting, but far from conclusive.
  16. Just to take issue with the title of the thread, but most of those VF100s listed in the poll are not actually confirmed yet. The only confirmed releases are VF-25F, VF-25S, VF-25G, VF-19Kai & Armored VF-25F. Even Bandai has said that the multitude of VFs shown on early publicity posters is a wish list, not a certainty.
  17. Ozma's my favorite male character in Frontier. I'd love a movie about him. Graham
  18. I'm guessing it's only a few more days until the VF-25G is released. Graham
  19. Yes, given that the crotch is a seperate removable peice, used only for battroid mode, there is absolutely no reason why the leg position could not be changed. Graham
  20. I think the tradional model builders would disagree with you. Graham
  21. The new hobby mags come out in a day or two, so hopefully they will have some new pics. The Shizuoka Hobby Show seemed to be priomarily a show case for the Bandai's new Frontier model kits. I'm sure they will show off the Frontier toys at the Tokyo Toy Show in mid-July. Graham
  22. Heh, I thought that trailer looked pretty good actually. Graham
  23. Technically, it would be a v3.0 Yamato YF-19. Or you could say a v2.0 1/60 YF-19. Anyway, it could possible happen in some form, but if it does, don't expect it too soon. My biggest gripe with the present 1/60 YF-19 is the loose joints. The gullet doesn't bother me too much. Of course, if it does get redone, I would like to see some chest locking, opening leg weapon bays, more secure leg FAST Pack attachment and a smaller gullet. Graham
  24. Still no news of when of if this movie is going to be shown in this part of the world. We got all previous Trek movies here, so surprised there's been no news of this one. Graham
  25. Season 2 just started showing here last night. First episode was OK. Didn't really like the Scottish boss lady terminator (can't remember her name). Graham
