  1. Looks the same to me. Graham
  2. Who's to say there's are not two different gunpods? I may be remembering wrongly, as it's a long time since I watched it, and possibly it's an animation error, but IIRC in Macross Dynamite 7, they had the Gunpod of Gamlin's VF-22S firing and sounding like a beam gun and the forearm guns sounding like rapid fire projectile cannon. Graham
  3. Will probably pass on the VF-25F Super. Too many VF-25 toys already. The Q-Rea is a must buy.
  4. HLJ, the Bandai Tamashi site, or just search back through this thread a few pages.
  5. Don't think the Bird of Prey & Double Nuts are out yet.
  6. Got mine yesterday and love it. I've always prefered the look of the VF-22 over the YF-21 & Gamlin is my all time favorite character. Toy seems a bit tighter than the YF-21.
  7. Been meaning to ask, does the VF-1 look any different in Macross The First? Has Mikimoto tweaked or updated it at all? Graham
  8. When I was a kid, I seldom used to use my Viewmaster for its intended purpose. Instead, it made a cool if slightly unusual looking spaceship toy.
  9. From the Frontier Archives book, I've located the likely location of 2 more verniers on the Armoured pack. These are on a previously unknown piece of armour on the outer part of the upper leg, located just below the intake armour. These are not visible on the CG art due to the angle of thd art, but are visible in the lineart & model kit pics. Will post pics on Monday. Home scanner down now.
  10. I really hope that whoever sold the rights to Universal took them for every cent they could get and are laughing all the way to the bank. I really don't get why Universal even thought it was necessary to buy the rights. Graham
  11. Have to check the line art again, but I always throught the VF-22's visoor had an upper and lower lip, which doesn't appear on the latest toy pics. Graham
  12. Unlike the YF-21, the VF-22 is supposed to store it's gunpods internally in the leg bay cover panels in fighter mode. How the gunpods are removed or ejected for battroid and gerwalk mode is never shown in the anime. Due to space limitations, it was not possible for Yamato to make the gunbods on the toy be able to be stored internally, without make the leg bay panels significantly more bulky, which would have spoiled the look of fighter mode. Graham
  13. If you are a good boy, maybe she will even hold your joystick. Graham
  14. LOL! Never minding about scraping the bottom of the barrel, they've finally broken right through the bottom. I wonder how much they had to 'pay' for the rights......LOL......Idiots! Graham
  15. Anybody know if the GN-U Macross Plus FAST Pack sets out yet? And there is no confirmation that Kaiyodo lost their Macross licence. Could be a lot of reasons why we haven't seen any new Macross Revys in a while. Most likely tghe licence expired and they chose not to renew it. Loads Macross of Revys still sitting on shelves here. Graham
  16. Also convinced that the chest ports are vents or verniers, not beam guns.
  17. Just picked up my copy in the ground floor Japanese magazine shop in Sino Center for HK$258. The first 60 or so pages are mostly mecha porn photos of the completed model kits, with a few pages of building tips, some pics of the character decal sheets and a two page text article. The last 30 pages are mostly black and white lineart and a few pages of color CG art. The black and white lineart is the same as previously published in various issues of Hobby Japan, but a bit bigger and clearer. The lineart is mostly of the Super Parts, Armour Parts and some areas of the VF-25, such as the landing gear, folded nose cone, wing root guns, feet etc. Nothing new, but worth having if you didn't get all the relevant HJ issues. The CG mecha art is the same as in other Frontier books. There is also a 4 page color guide for the VF-25 with some nice side view color line art of the various VF-25. Overall, worth having if you don't buy the hobby mags, but there's nothing really new for those that do. The painted model kit pics are new and nice, but the hobby mags also have plenty of photos of the completed kits. Graham
  18. Hip vernier? Which opening are you talking about, the circle-bar? Just to clarify, are you talking about the hip armour, which covers the engine intake, or the wing root armor, that covers the VF-25's 25mm wing root gun? On what I call the wing root armor, there are three openings, the front, which is thought to be the opening for the VF-25's 25mm gun, although I'm begining to wonder if the opening actually lines up with the 25mm gun or not. Then there are the two ovals behind it, which based on the line art published in the August HJ and the new Frontier Archieves books, show cylinders on the rear of the armor (behind the ovals), which to me don't look big enough to be guns, but who knows? Graham
  19. Nice. Is it out already?
  20. Just to clarify, Hasegawa have only been making Macross kits since the year 2000, not for 25 years. Graham
  21. I'm guessing non-transforming battroid mode only. My guess for first releases are VF-25, VF-27 & VF-1.
  22. Unfortunately, no new news or pics in the new August issues of Hobby Japan Magazine and Dengeki Hobby Magazine, that were released on 25th June. Hopefully, we'll get some news in the next issues, out on 25th July. Graham
  23. There is a very small pic of the prototype in the new hobby mags, but it appears to be of clear resin and you can't really see any detail anyway. Graham
  24. Damn, wanted you to ask did they ever see Yokko Kanno and Gabriela Robin together? Would like to clear up the mystery are they really the same person or not......LOL! Graham
  25. Heh, how would you like your 'Q', rare, medium or well done? It ain't a steak ya' know.
