  1. One thing that I don't think anybody has commented on so far, is that under the slip band on the cover, it says in English: The bit that says "stratosphere only", gives me hope that we will see a second volume on the VF-1 for space use. Graham
  2. How much did you pay for yours? I'm looking to pick up a second one, but when I checked 188 Center in Wanchai today, it was HK$1,099, which seems a little high to me. Graham
  3. Saw it last night. Definitely my favorite film of the year so far. Graham
  4. Hi Guys, Here's a few quick photos of the new 1/60 VT-1 I snapped this morning. To be honest, I haven't transformed it yet, as it looks so good in fighter mode. No weapons included, but it does have hard points on the wings if you want to attach missiles. Graham
  5. There are only 6 x VF-1 in the first wave. When does 6 out of 17 = 50%?????????? Graham
  6. Looking forward to seeing this. It's not showing here in Hong Kong until earlier October though. Saw the 2 online trailers recently. Gotta say the alien ship looked very ID4 mothership-ish. Graham
  7. Thanks. Checked and mine's a '2006', so as suspected, Hong Kong - region 3, which makes sense as I bought it in Hong Kong. Graham
  8. Box!? That went in the bin, 5 minutes after buying the thing nearly a year ago (or whenever it was that MAF came out). Graham
  9. That may or may not be the case. That magazine pic you are quoting is already over a month old (the previous issue of Dengeki Hobby), whereas these C3 pics are much newer. Graham
  10. This is the definitive version of the VT-1, we have been waiting 25 years for. Awesome, Awesome, beautiful toy!
  11. On the DX line in general, it's quite common to have paint chips or damaged Tampo printing brand new out of the box.
  12. Have to study the CG art again, but first impressions are the upper arms look too long & skinny on the Q-Rea toy.
  13. So how does one tell what region is ones PSP?
  14. There was also a coloring issue with the face of the VF-19S as well. Bah, two of my favorite mecha, the VF-17S and VF-19S and they screw up the face coloring. Graham
  15. Will pass on the launching missiles. They look pretty silly IMO. Graham
  16. Sheesh, didn't know he had gotten that fat. Graham
  17. Damn, either these sets are heavily weighed towards the VF-1, or I'm just an unlucky SOB. Picked up another two at random on the hope of getting a VF-25F/G, VF-2SS or a VF-19S/Kai/P and what do I get, 2 more bloody VF-1s!!!!!!!! This time a TV VF-1A Max and a TV VF-1J Millia. That means out of the 4 I've bought at random, 3 have been VF-1s. That's 75% fracking percent! Grrrrr! Sigh..........I didn't want any VF-1s at all. Oh well, I'll glue them together so they don't fall apart and give them to my son, I'm sure he'll like them. Graham
  18. Don't know how authentic the food is, never having been to Mexico, but there are at least 4 (what I consider to be good) Mexican resturants here in Hong Kong. Graham
  19. Saw Plus for the first time in 1994, within a week or two of it's release in Japan. Same goes for Mac 7. At that time, there was a shop here in HK that sold bootleg VHS tapes, copied from the Japanese LDs. Of course it was raw Japanese, unsubbed, but that's how I watched most anime back in the day. Graham
  20. Yay, got a 'B' grade this morning on Sad Sniper EX and killed that pantywaist Brera. I think you just need to get an 'A' grade to get the VF-27 right? Is it even possible at all to keep Alto alive in this mission? Graham
  21. Here's some pics of the white & blue YF-19. As promised, Yamato have definitely tightened up some of the joints in battroid mode and the toy no longer feels like a floppy mess, unlike the original Macross Plus colors YF-19 toy. The main improvements are where the wings join to the hips. As you can see from the pics, both wings can now hold a horizontal position in battroid mode. I left the wings like that overnight and they hadn't drooped at all by morning. Another improvemnt is the locking of the shoulders. On the original YF-19, when you angled up the shoulders, even glancing at them the wrong way would cause them to drop down. On this lastest version, the shoulders lock very positively in the angled up position. The small shoulder flaps aslo feel much tioghter and don't pop out all the time. Likewise, the arms and leg joints also seem a bit tighter. Graham
  22. Yay lived through Sad Sniper EX for the first time in 4+ hours of trying! Only got a 'C' & Brera escaped, but at least I didn't die. Graham
  23. Not the special melee, the special where you fire your sniper rifle. Most of the time it never seems to do anything, just swing your rifle around and shoot at empty space. Graham
  24. Damn, Sad Sniper EX is hard. Been playing it for several hours, played umpteen games and died everytime (E grade). Only ever got as far as the VF-27 one time and then died, as I only had a smidgen of life left. Trying lots of different tactics. Quite tricky to avoid getting hammered by the missiles from the first wave right at the very start. Tried a tactic at the start of the game of breaking lock and running away to the edge of the map and sniping at long range. Worked great for one game for the first two waves, but I swear the bastards learnt, as the next few games they followed me at once rather than hanging about near the middle of the map. The special attack, triangle + circle seems especially useless, as 90% of the time, it doesn't even connect and seems to be aimed wildly off target (am I doing something wrong?). Graham
