Worst Science Fiction Film of All Time
Graham replied to JELEINEN's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
I actually bought it on DVD when it was first released (although I forget why). I think I managed to sit about 3/4 through the movie, before ejecting it from the player and tossing it in the trash. Graham -
R.I.P. Only seen Perfect Blue and own the DVD. Great movie. Have to make an effort to see his other movies. Graham

Still haven't seen any of these yet and wasn't even aware they had made a '3'. Graham

Star Wars: Clone Wars animated series
Graham replied to BoBe-Patt's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I've had this theory in the back of my mind for a while now, that Lucas may pull off a huge retcon with Clone Wars and completely change the Star Wars story, with Anakin not turning to the dark side and not becoming Vader, but instead being killed by Vader, as Obi Wan orginally described to Luke in A New Hope. Sounds crazy, I know, but so far though seasons 1 and 2, Anakin is just too goody goody, to be anywhere remotely near turning to the dark side. While he's still impulsive and does things his own way, having Ahsoka as a Padawan seems to have brought out a more resonsible side to him and mellowed him quite a bit. I don't recall seeing any flashes of anger from Anakin or him losing his temper yet. Graham- 1217 replies

Wow, that's ugly IMO. Looks more like something out of Super Robot Wars Original Generations, than from Armored Core. I remember when I used to play Armored Core on my PS1 and it had nice looking realistic mechs. Graham

Star Wars: Clone Wars animated series

Another reason for not wanting to sse Phase II armourin series 3 (besides it looking fugly), is that I don't want to have to buy a whole new set of Phase II Clone Trooper toys for my son. He's already got about 30 different Clone Trooper figures and if I buy anymore, my wife is gonna go ballistic! Graham- 1217 replies

Haven't watched the season 3 trailer yet, but I hope the Clones keep their Phase I armor in season III. I far prefer the look of the TV Phase I armor helmets, looks more heroic IMO. I always hated the look of the Phase II helmets. Yes, I know they bridge the gap between Storm Trooper armour, but they still look ugly IMO. Graham- 1217 replies

Looks great. A must buy. Graham

Easy pass for me. The only 2 movies I like are 'A New Hope' & 'Empire Strikes Back' and I'm only interested in the original theatrical version of A New Hope. I have no burning desire to replace my DVDs. And I still don't have a Blu-Ray player yet. And Han shot first! Anyway, these days, my meagre Star Wars interests are more with the Clone Wars CG series, which I enjoy watching together with my son. Graham

Nah, never played a single Zelda game. I never bought into Nintendo. Never liked their cutesy characters. The only Nintendo console I ever owned was a Japanese Super Famicom, so I could play Scrambled Valkyrie. Back in the early to mid 90s', I was far more of a Sega Mega-Drive fan. I can't stand Mario Brothers, naver could. Don't like the game and as mentioned, hate the cutsey characters. Never was a Street Fighter fan and the only Tetris I play is on my cell phone, when I'm travelling and really, really bored. Will probably pass then, or catch it as a rental. Graham

Hmm........never heard of the lead actor or the comic book before. May give this a try if and when it is released here. As for the director, I liked Shaun of the Dead, but thought Hot Fuzz was just so-so. Graham

No. Would love to, but it hasn't opened here in HK yet. Graham

Only a couple. Obi Wan and Plo Koon. My son likes Clone Troopers much more than Jedi, as do I. We'll probably pick up Anakin at some time, but no hurry. We also have Darth "I can kill you with a tray" Vader.....LOL! Graham

Had a big Clone Wars battle with my 6 year old son this morning. Great fun. Clones vs Droids. The clones won of course, but it was close, as the sneaky Death Watch leader joined sides with the Droids. I think the Droids need a tank to make it more even, but the trouble is getting my wife to agree. She already thinks I have my son has too many Star Wars toys! LOL! Graham

I like the 1st and 2nd schemes, they remind my of the M7 Emerald Force VF-19F and VF-19S respectively. Graham

Agree, I'm a big fan of Seagal's early films, before he got all environmental and fat. Graham

For me, I enjoy an action movie far more when it has an element of realism in the fight scenes, whether they be shoot outs, sword fights or unarmed combat/martial arts fights. If an actor actual knows martial arts and/or has been trained/coached how to move/shoot/handle firearms/fight properly, and the fight is choreographed in such a way that realistic moves are used, rather than fake-ass flying through the air wire-fu, or that annoying slow-mo, then speed up crap, or the just as bad shaky camera & crap angle camera work. Same with guns. I've been a firearms enthusiast and shooting since the mid-90s' and when I see actors that have been trained how to handle firearms correctly and use realistic and proper tactics and skills in a movie gun fight, the movie becomes so much more enjoyble for me. All actors who have to handle guns should definitely be sent to a proper shooting school like Gunsite or Thunder Ranch for training IMO. I really can't stand the two guns held sideways flying through the air while shooting crap you get in movies these days. Graham

I've got 3 x VF-11B and 3 x VF-11C and love them. Excellent engineering, good articulation, durable (so far), still nice and tight and very easy and smooth to transform. I really hope Yamato releases the atmospheric Super Packs from Operation Stargazer for the VF-11C and also releases the Full Armor. As a bit of a downer, when I talked with Yamato about the armor sveral months ago, they did admit when they designed the VF-11 toy, they didn't take the armor into consideration, unlike the V2 1/60 VF-1, which was designed from the ground up for the GBP Armor. This is not to say that the armor couldn't be made to fit the toy, just that it might be abit more difficult. Graham

Agree with you about the Hasegawa 1/72, it's far too skinny IMO. And that would be a "royalty fee" or "license fee", not a loyalty fee. LOL.....I can't imagine any Macross fan paying Harmony Gold to stay loyal to them. Graham

That used to happen to me quite a lot too, in my younger, wilder days. Graham -
Quite looking forward to seeing this after watching the trailer. I just hope there is not too much fake-ass CG and wire-fu. Just straight up 80s' style action suits me fine. Together with A-Team, Predators and Machete, 2010 looks like being the year of the 80s' style action movie! Graham

I typically stick to the Typhoon. Although I hope they include the Pak Fa. Graham
