Ace Combat Joint Assault

In Joint Assault, you can get upgrade parts for the real planes. Graham -
Thanks, GRAND CANNON. Thos scans are great, even if I already have some of them already. When you modify the stats on the other cards could you post the pics the same way please. Also, you mentioned some links for other cad pics? Graham

Bloody hell, mission 21A is hard! No problem taking down the first 3 Varcolacs, but usually run out of time before killing the leader. Graham -

Love this game, but if I have to destroy one more Spiridus, I am going to scream! Graham -
Definiely interested in getting these when you have the stats done. My son loves these cards. Anybody know of any website that has the regular cards to print out? I'm not buying 2/3 of my son's figures for him again, just so he can get the cards! Graham

Hell yeah, the last panel in that comic is my life. Graham

The Daily Mash on Halo Reach....LOL! Graham

Just buy yourself a PSP already and AC:Joint Assault (and MUF of course)! Graham

An all new YF-19 is actually a possibility for the future (say 2-3 years later), but far from confirmed at this stage. More in the 'we're just starting to consider it' category. Mylenes - no. Graham Resin sculpt only at the moment. They are still a long way from having anything in plastic. Blazer will definitely come. Graham

Ha, one of my gripes with the AC series has always been how combat is too close up and there are no real BRV missiles. Graham

Ha, didn't even know this was still going. The local station that was screening it here in Hong Kong (TVB Pearl), dropped it years ago after season 3 or 4 IIRC. Is uber-cutie Kristen Krueck still in it? She is just MCOT! Graham

That is a surprising large number of parts. Graham

Got some nice A4 size CAD drawing printouts, including some not seen before of fighter mode, but I didn't get to see the prototype . However, I will have a chance to handle it next week.........yipee! Bad news though, release is not expected until Q2 2011, as they want to get the 1/3000 SDF-1 out of the door first. Still, that gives us more time to save up for the 19. Graham

Hmm.......so based on that new report, seems like the game is pretty short at only 12 missions. Oh well, from the "Trial" in the title, I think we all kinda knew it wasn't gonna be a full game anyway. I like how the article describes "new gameplay features like "anti missile actions" which let you shoot down incoming missiles, and the ability to free your fighter of armor whenever you like." Hardly new features as these were already implemented in MUF! Graham

Ace Combat Joint Assault

Really enjoying Joint Assault. Up to mission 7 or 8 now. Currently playing the one where you have to escort a chopper into an oil field to rescue a hostage. I really can't stress how much better I think this came is than AC:X and how much more I'm enjoying it. Only a few planes available so far (F4, F-16, F-18, F-5, Mig-21 and Tornado) And of couse, the only one I like out of those, the Tornado (hey, I'm British, gotta support our planes), is too expensive at the moment.....LOL! Currently using the F-16, which I'm not really a fan of, as I've always thought they are quite ugly, but at least it flys better than that dump truck with wings, AKA F-4. I'd prefer to use the F-18, but can't afford that either yet.....Ha Ha! I like that you play as a private military contractor, but that this is set in the real world. I dunno, playing in real world environments makes it more enjoyable to me than playing on some made up fantasy planet. I do wish the game featured more choice of older real world Cold War era planes though. I'd love to fly the English Electric Lightning, Buccaneer, F-105, F-106 etc. Some more modern, but not yet in production planes, like the Silent Eagle and Pak Fa would have been great as well. Buy it, play it! Graham -
I may (or may not) get to see and handle the prototype today. Cross fingers and wish me luck! Meeting people from Yamato Japan for lunch today in HK. Hope they brought it with them. Graham

Any comments on the Turbo Tank? Good? Bad? Thinking of getting my son one for Christmas. He now has so many Clone Troopers, that his Gunship and AT-TE can't hold them all, so we need another Clone carrier.......LOL! Not sure what my wife will say though! Graham

Just came across this video of the Typhoon from the recent Farnborough airshow. Loaded with I think: 4 x GBU bombs. 6 x A2A missiles. 3 x Fuel tanks And still amazing manoeuvrability. Graham

Ace Combat Joint Assault

I've never even head of an 'auto lock-on part" Is that something from AC:X? I only played through AC:X 1.5 times, so didn't get all the planes and didn't come across any upgrades. Graham -

OK, just started playing AC: Joint Assault this morning. I've only played though the first 2 missions, but already I love this game and can say it is a huge improvement on AC: X. Here's what I like about Joint Assault: Better graphics both for the planes and the landscapes. Flying through the landmarks in Tokyo on mission 2 was so cool, especially flying past the Tokyo Tower, as I just visited there only a few months ago. The BGM is excellent in this game. Really atmospheric and matches the game perfectly. A big improvement on AC:X. The voice acting in AC:Joint Assault is also a huge improvement over AC:X, far more professional. To be honest, the voice acting in AC:X was one of the worst things about the game and really made my cringe every time the operator or reporter spoke. It was so bad, that most of the time I played with the sound off. The ability to have multiple choices not only for your main weapon, but also your secondary weapon, is a big improvement and something all AC games should have had from the start. Gun kills are a bit easier........yay! Definitely highly recommended for any Ace Combat fan. If you don't have a PSP already, go and buy one just for this game (& MUF of course)! Can't wait to get my Typhoon. Graham -
Hmmm.......think I will pass on this and stick with MUF for my Macross fix. I hate it when the performance of VFs is dumbed down, so as not to make other lesser mecha seem so bad in comparison....LOL! So unless, Trial Frontier is really awesome, I can save my money and don't need to buy a PS3. Graham

Heh, given the number of Last Starfighter and Gunstar fans on this forum, that is lynchin' talk. Graham The Eagle & Hawk are fantastic designs, definitely look like something real that NASA would use in Space. I used to hate it i the show when they flew them in an atmosphere though. Just a pity the rest of the scince on Space 1999 was so hokey. Graham

No, the Interceptor only had that one missile, no guns. If it missed, that was it. Graham

There's been no news at all, either online or in any of the hobby magazines on Ozma's Armored VF-25S for months and months. I reckon they have dropped it. I'm surprised they never released a Galia IV green Q-Rare. Graham

I've always thought a canopy on a star fighter is a poor idea, purely because it weakens structural integrity. Far better to have the pilot in a solid armored cockpit, with view relayed to him, by external cameras and sensors, which are displayed either on 360 degree wrap-around screens ala Gundam MS cockpits, or though goggles/visor worn by the pilot, which allow him to see anywhere outside the craft simply by looking in the relevant direction.
