Yamato 1/60 VF-17 Nightmare Diamond Force
Graham replied to charger69's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
S, thought I'd mentioned earlier in the thread. Graham -
I've also had the 18rd drum hang a couple of times in the same way. No biggie, it works will enough most of the time and to be honest, I'm surprised that for a toy drum magazine firing soft foam darts, it works as well as it does! Anyway, it's good for practicing stoppage drills. Graham

Yes. Graham -
That's a shame. Was going to look for one, to put under my Recon, but will pass now. Graham Will probably pass on these. Already in trouble with my wife for getting 6 NERF guns this month and don't want to be bothered with another ammo type. Also not too keen on the look or color scheme. Graham

Anybody want to hack or steal my phone, then u can see full CADs as well as rapid prototype pics......LOL. Graham -
Can the Break Barrel IX-2 attach to the Recon's bottom rail without modification, or does it need some modification done first? Graham

The Recon really should have had an ambidextrous side-mounted cocking handle as standard, it would have made it a much better NERF blaster. Graham

Just to clarify, the VF-17's forearm beam guns have barrels in both the wrist and elbow, just the elbow ones extend out, where the wrist ones don't. The wrist/elbow beam gun feature was something General Galaxy decided to reuse for they follow up VF, the YF-21/VF-22. Graham -
Ordered a yellow Raider stock, one more 18rd drum, a 35rd drum and a Stampede 18rd mag from ebay for my Alpha Trooper. Graham Thanks for the holster tip, will check it out. Also been thinking about getting a dump pouch. Just bought the NERF bandoleer. Thinking about getting a Raider as well, but like the Alpha Trooper for it's compact-ish size. Can't find the NERF double barreled shotgun in HK. Graham

Surprised nobody is making some dedicated Kydex belt holsters for the Maverick. Graham

Gave my Barricade another try last night in the house and it worked fine. It's weird, when I first got it, my son and I tested it indoors and it worked fine, but when we took it outdoors to have a NERF fight around our village, it started jamming after only a couple of shots. Yet last night it worked fine again. I've noticed you definitely can't fire too rapidly and need to have a second or half second pause between shots and also it needs a good firm trigger pull, something my just 7 year old son can't always manage yet. Need to do some more testing before I feel confident with it though. Still think the manually operated guns like the Maverick and Alpha Trooper are better than the noisy battery powered Barricade though. Planning to get a CS-35 Raider soon, for the 35rd drum. Just ordered an 18rd Stampede magazine off ebay as well Would like to get a few more of the 18rd Alpha Trooper drums. Anybody know a source of holsters for Mavericks? Graham

Bought that pack of 2 x 6rd magazines that comes with the grey adapter that lets you clip 2 mags together end to end, but it seems really unsecure in that the slightest bump will knock a magazine out of the grey adapter clip. Do you guys usually glue the mags into the adapter clip? Graham

Just recently started getting into NERF with my nearly 7 year old son. Bought the following guns in the past 3 weeks: 1 x Alpha Trooper CS-18 = Fantastic gun, highly recommended. Love the balance of size, weight and capacity and the slam fire feature. 1 x Barricade RV-10 = Very noisy and jams frequently. Really regret buing this. It worked ok for about 30 shots but now jams all the time. 2 x Maverick REV-6 = Great sidearms. Got one yellow and one transluscent green. My favorite so far. 1 x Recon CS-6 = So-so IMO. good as a pistol, but the stock feels flimsy and doesn't hold a spare mag securely, the rail being on the cocking handle is a really stupid location as it interferes with the rear sight. If I'd had a chance to try this first I probably would not have bought it. The Alpha Trooper is far superior IMO. So far my feeling is to stay away from the battery powered guns. Graham

Cool, first time to show the turret in use in fighter mode. Really shows how the features of the Tornado Pack were integrated into the YF-29. Graham -

Yes, the chest guns were used numerous times in battroid mode in the series, but if u blink u miss it. The yellow markings on Millia's and Brando's VF-17S are different. Graham -

Personally, I prefer the D head to the S. The VF-17D is probably my all time favourite VF head, second being the VF-19S Graham -

Yamato 1/60 VF-19 Fire Valkyrie (v2.0)
Graham replied to UN Spacy's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Been discussing with Yamato about the lack of instument panel tampo or sticker on the Fire Valkyrie. Apparently the head of development didn't think it was needed However, good news, I have got then to agree to include it for the VF-19S and F. Graham -

Anybody spotted the exact release day in June on any website yet??? I'm guessing it will be around 25th, as that is when Bandai usually releases. But would appreciate exact date if anybody has seen it. Graham -
Yamato 1/60 VF-17 Nightmare Diamond Force
Graham replied to charger69's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
The VF-17's lower legs were always going to be problematic. They have to look big and chunky for battroid mode, yet slim enough to enable a relatively slim fighter mode. And then into the lower leg, you need to fit the rear landing gear, folded gunpod, reaction missile bay, all the associated doors and the connections for the knee and ankle joint. At this stage, I can confirm landing gear and a gunpod stored in the leg (in some form). I don't know yet, but I suspect the reaction missile bay may not be included (I should know later today). The latest CADs look great. From what I saw yesterday, Yamato have done a good job of capturing the chunkiness of the Nightmare in battroid, while still keeping a relatively slim fighter mode. Graham
