Yamato 1/60 VF-17 Nightmare Diamond Force
Graham replied to charger69's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Yes, due to the higher quality factory Yamato is using recently, plus price increases in China and increased material costs, Yamato told me their production cost has risen 2.5 times in the past year They are also not happy about it, but would rather use this high quality factory. Graham -

No, I love it and will be getting multiples. Graham -
Yamato 1/60 VF-17 Nightmare Diamond Force
Graham replied to charger69's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Problem is that side view art which everybody is comparing the toy to is terribly inaccurate as well. The legs, intakes, micro-missile ports, feet are all impossibly slim. Graham -
Pass. No interest at all. Graham

Yamato 1/60 VF-17 Nightmare Diamond Force
Graham replied to charger69's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
This is a VF-17, not a VF-171! Graham -
Of course, it could all just be a cover for a Macross 30th aniversery anime. I mean contest to find idol singers for new anime sounds awfully Macross-y to me Graham

AKIRA LIVE ACTION MOVIE = Life Support?
Graham replied to Macross007's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Haha.....and what about the live action Evangelion? Honestly, the only live action anime adaptation, I'd probably look forward to seeing would be Black Lagoon. But then who would play Revy? Graham -
I completely disagree. Game of Thrones, which is probably 98% faithful to the books is how a TV adaptation should be. For myself, if I'm watching a book-to-TV, or book-to-movie adaptation I want it to be as faithful to the source material as possible. Honestly, if they had changed the title of The Walking Dead TV series to "Extremely Loosely Inspired by The Walking Dead", I probably would have enjoyed season one a lot more. At least then I wouldn't have had any false expectations. Graham

Yamato 1/60 VF-17 Nightmare Diamond Force
Graham replied to charger69's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Sigh..........do we have to go through this with each, new release. Photos are of a painted resin sculp, so of course fit & finish does not look great and why blocks are needed for support. Graham -
Yamato 1/60 VF-17 Nightmare Diamond Force
Graham replied to charger69's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
That's about as slim as you can keep fighter mode and still keep a decent n chunky-ish looking battroid mode. It's still miles slimmer than the Bandai 1/65 DX.Graham -
Yamato 1/60 VF-17 Nightmare Diamond Force
Graham replied to charger69's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
And just because it's not shown in that single Gerwalk mode photo, doesn't mean the lower legs can't bend forward. Ahem........pull lower leg down to extend knee joint & bend forward, as required -
Yamato 1/60 VF-17 Nightmare Diamond Force
Graham replied to charger69's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
But the VF-17's trademark and destinctive Gerwalk mode is supposed to be like that. Graham -
VF-11B and C didn't sell too well. Likely no more releases and no armour set due to poor sales of the base mecha Graham

I think this discussion is over. It's obvious that only a very few people (vocal minority?) ever really had a problem with it. Not going to bring up with Yamato in this instance. Graham
-
I agree, the VF-25F looks better naked, although I also like the Tornado pack. I've personally never liked the look of the Super Packs. Also agree that the Armoured Ozma is a different story, that looks awesome. Will also check Mong Kok tomorrow. Graham

LOL, that is way cool. Graham One of the many weight saving measures they had to make I guess. Graham

I wonder when it will hit HK shops, as we often get Bandai toys a few days before the official release date. Graham

IMO, the only good Die Hard was the first one, bit like Highlander and Robocop really! I don't waste my time with the sequels. Graham

This mook, "Macross Mechanics 01" that came out at the end of September seems to have come in under the radar. http://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/4798602760/ref=pe_2102_26547942_snp_explore Apologies if it's been mentioned already. Just saw it on Amazon JP and ordered it. Seems to be a Macross model book from Hobby Japan. Graham
