Yamato 1/60 VF-17 Nightmare Diamond Force
Graham replied to charger69's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
The only stickers you really need are 2 x UN Spacy Kites for the left and right sides of the chestplate hump and 1 x 'double triangle' Diamond Force logo for the left side of the chestplate. For the other stickers, just put them wherever you feel looks good. Personally, I feel the two sizes of UN Spacy Kite stickers supplied with the VF-17S are too big and too small. On my VF-17S, I've started using the UN Spacy Kite stickers from the v.2 VF-1 toys which I have loads of spares, as they never got used with the VF-1 toys. You can see from the attached pic, where I chose to place some of the stickers on my VF-17S. Graham -
I needed the spare canards. I broke one before, when a YF-19 took a tumble off the shelf. So yeah, thanks for including them Yamato. Graham

Not much interest in this to be honest, even if subbed. Happy with my Animego set. Even if their were English subs, would Blu-ray honestly do anything to improve the video quality of an anime TV series from 1982? (honest question coming from someone who has yet to see the need for a Blu-ray player). And I already own Pefect Memory, so no need for that. Graham

Damn, that Rayven looks nice, but was disappointed to find out it was an electric flywheel gun If it was a manual cocking springer, I would have bought it for sure. Graham

"Who ya gonna call?" "Go Busters!" LOL Graham

Impressive, most impressive. Graham

Looking forward to a new and improved YF-19, as besides the loosness and cracking problems, it's really showing its age design-wise next to the beautiful VF-19Kai and VF-19S. Graham

Have already emailed Yamato with your suggestions about: Having the 12 semi-conformal missiles detachable (a must). having hard-points on the wing, so that the VF-4 can fit the missiles from the v2 1/60 VF-1. Having the VF-4's hands designed so that they can hold the GU-11 gunpod from the v2 VF-1. Having a gunpod adaptor to allow the gunpod to be mounted in fighter mode. No reply yet though. Graham

Finally got around to watching the First 7 episodes of season 2. Better than the second half of season 1, but still fairly meh. Still prefer the comic and Romero's movies for my Zombie fix. Graham

Looks like crappy rear visibility for the pilot And saying, "well these things are designed for BRV combat, so we don't need rear visibility", is all well and good, but outside of planned and scripted air exercises, how often do rules of engagement and the political situation, actually allow a BRV shot in a real combat situation!? While I'm no expert, seems like everything available in the public domain regarding modern air combat always points to the need for pilots to get a confirmed visual ID with the MK I eyeball, before being allowed to shoot. And I don't see that changing. Graham Yeah, I work a lot with COFDM video & telemetry transmission systems and latency can be a bitch sometimes. Graham

Rearranged my bedroom shelves. I love Macross 7 mecha And to keep it on topic, the VF-17S rocks! Graham -
Checked and sorry, I don't have it. The one I have which I thought might be it, is shown in the attached pic. Graham

An Artdink Macross game is the only reason I would buy a PS Vita. Macross games are the only reason for buying 90% of all my games systems Graham

100% agree. Graham

Yes, that is normal. The hip joint pulls out on both sides so you can swing it from fighter (upper) to battroid (lower) position. When you push both sides of the hip joint back in, in battroid mode, there will still be some movement, but not much. Graham -
I'll check tonight when I get home. Personally, I can't stand those Ranka and Sherly versions, so I just slung them all in a plastic bag, which got shoved on top of my closet and haven't looked at them since. Graham

Is that really from Lockheed? Looks like something out of an Ace Combat game! Any links to articles? The F-22 is not that old, we need a replacement already? Mind you with the lengthy development and procurement processes these days, I guess it's probably time to start thinking about it. Graham

It's a shame they didn't go forward with this line. There is so much more they could have done: YF-29 Alto, Ozma. VF-27 with Super Packs SV-51 Nora, Ivanov, Cannon Fodder, with/without boosters. VF-11B/C/D, with without Super Packs, radome, Atmospheric Super Packs. Various Varauta mecha. VF-17D/S/Kai, with/without Fast Packs, Radome, Sound Booster. VF-5000B/G with/without Super Packs VF-3000 VF-9 VF-22S Max & Milia, VF-2SS with SAP VF-2JA Etc., etc.

Yeah, the joints on my two Kai's are still nice and tight, while the joints on my YF-29's hips are pretty loose despite only being transformed 3-4 times and being posed mostly in fighter mode. Thankfully, my renewal VF-25F still has tight joints, although it's been a while since I checked. I'm more of a fighter mode person, so for display tend to keep the majority of my Valks in fighter mode, only occasionally transforming to battroid mode for a bit of play or occasional display in that mode. I have to say I'm very happy with my renewal VF-25F. Out of the box, I had no problems with the paint application and Tampo printed markings and no parts breakage. I consider the renewal VF-25F a great toy and extremely good value for the price. Graham
-
What's it look like? Post a pic and I'll see if I've got a spare. Graham
-
Close call, but I still think the VF-19Kai trumps the v2 VF-25F. Both are great toys though. Graham

Drums fingers on table impatiently. Thought we would have seen an announcement by now for a Macross game for the PS Vita. Or more information on the Mobile Macross games that were mentioned a while back. Graham

Same on my first one. The neck base is super tight. I have to use my little finger or a piece of hard plastic to push it around while in battroid mode. My right elbow is also lose, but this is not such an issue, as I usually have it holding the gunpod in two handed poses anyway. I find the metal hip bars do want to slide out when I'm changing pose, but not while it's not being handled. Graham -

Fantastic pics. Love the black background. Graham -
Not that I watched the cartoon much as I didn't like it even as a kid, but didn't they all shoot lasers in the cartoon and never hit anything? They must have attended the same school of marksmanship training as the A-Team..........LOL! Graham
