  1. Yay! Was actually just going to send you a remnder about this, Sketchley, but then saw your post. Graham
  2. And while you are at it, some atmospheric super parts for the 1/60 VF-11C, a 1/3000 scale transforming Battle 7, a radome for the 1/60 VF-17S and how about a perfect transformation 1/60 VF-5000B? And all finished and available to buy online before lunch time tomorrow. I know not the meaning of patience..........Mwahahahahah! Graham
  3. Well, I already have 4 x VF-17S. : D Graham
  4. The only Spider-Man is the Ralph Bakshi cartoon, there are no others! Graham
  5. Unpacked my CM's dark Stick last night and spend about 30 fairly frustrating minutes just getting the bike assembled and getting the rider sitting on the bike. Also very disappointed to find the wheels don't spin, guess I must have missed that in the reviews I read And yes, getting the front wheel assemblies all connected up in bike mode was the most frustrating part. In the end I had to resort to super glue to glue in the pegs on the rear of the missile launchers (the ones that connect to the forks), as these pegs kept popping off the rear of the missile launcher panels. I also had problems getting the left missile launcher panel to stay connected to the metal pin that sticks out of the wheel, as the hole in the rear of the missile launcher panel seemed over-sized. Still, when it was finally assembled, it looked quite nice and the plug that connects from the saddle into the rider's butt held the rider on very securely. I'm sorta toying with the idea of hunting down a Beagle, the engineering looks awesome. The only thing that really puts me off is the cloth suit, which does make the figure look really doll like. I really hate cloth on action figures as it seldom looks good or lasts long. I would have far prefered that Beagle just molded those parts in plastic instead of using cloth. Graham
  6. Cautiously optimistic about this movie. Loved the books as a kid. At least they kept the Earth scenes in the correct era and didn't update them to modern day times, as I feared they would. Far too many clothes though! Graham
  7. "B5" "Hit..........you sunk my battleship". Resemblance to movie...........Nil! LOL! Graham
  8. FAST Packs look awesome, gonna get me 6 sets. I just hope they have the tampo printed UN Spacy kites on them. Can't wait for the VF-17D, my all time favorite VF. Graham That's what I call 'extreme balance'! Graham
  9. Seriously impressive! Graham Beacuse: (a) The VF-11B and VF-11C didn't sell as well as expected, which sorta soured Yamato on doing anything more with the VF-11. (b) When the VF-11 toy was designed they never considered the full armor, so the base toy is not really designed with attachment of the armor in mind, unlike the v.2 VF-1, which was designed from the start with armor in mind. Not saying armor couldn't be made to fit the VF-11, but it might not attach as well as it could. Graham
  10. Great job helping out the community Veef, well done! Graham
  11. A little late to the party, but decided I needed a Ride Armour toy, as its probably over a decade since I sold off my old large Gakken one. I took the plunge today and bought both the CM's dark Stick type and Yellow type from a local shop in Causeway Bay. For US$32 (HK$250 each). Despite the horrible reviews on the CM's Ride Armor toys on Anymoon and Collection DX, I gather these may be among the best of the CM's Ride Armors given some of the plastic parts were changed to metal. Still, I'll probably no dound end up hating the small size and likley fiddlyness of them. Looked around but couldn't find any Megahouse or Beagle locally, otherwise I might have picked up a Beagle. Graham
  12. Looking forward to taking my son to see this. I think he'll enjoy it. Graham
  13. It's been a while since I played the Battleship board game or as it was back in my day, pen and paper game, but I don't recall aliens ever being in the game. Nice to see my hometown getting attacked in a couple of scenes in the trailer though. Graham
  14. Nope, unfortunately Still waiting for them to call me back. Graham
  15. Can't wait for the FAST packs. Gonna buy 4 sets. Always thought the 17's FAST Packs are among the most unique and nicest looking. A little disappointed to see no UN Spacy kites on the FAST packs (or the VF-17) in that pic. Graham I personally feel the small stickers are a little too small for the chest. Graham
  16. Still waiting for an Elric of Melnibone movie Graham
  17. From being a main character in the movie and seasons 1 and 2, Rex, really seems to have been sidelined in seasons 3 and 4 Graham
  18. Err.......who's the guy between Thor and Iron Man supposed to be, Julian Assange? Graham
  19. The only improvement I would like to see to the YF-21/VF-22S is landing gear that locks in the open position. Mine always stay in fighter mode. Graham
  20. Cool, as long as I block out the ugly MS and pretend they are VFs. Graham
  21. Sorry to get off topic, but you just cannot beat original unmodified Star Wars (in 2D as it was meant to be), or as the young uns' call it these days 'A New Hope'. And getting back on topic, Go Aliens! Thinking about it, I'd pay good money to see an Alien/Star Wars crossover. Has that ever been done before as a comic? Han and Chewie against Aliens, now that would rock! Graham
  22. Given the title of this thread, I gotta ask, is it a massage with a happy ending? Graham
  23. Wondering if we should change the title of this thread to "What anime are you currently watching?". Dunno about the rest of you, but I seldom watch new anime, as to be frank, most of it is well, crap! The present thread title seems to exclude older anime. My recent view list has included such oldies but goodies as: Mospeada. Gal Force - Eternal Story, Destruction, Stardust War. Macross 7. Black Lagoon TV / Black Lagoon OVA. Last Exile. None of which are current anime. Can't actually remember the last time I heard of anything current which is good. Graham
  24. Some random musings on the blue CM’s Legioss/Tread set, after I unboxed it last night. 1. I’m glad I bought the upgraded parts set, as the additional black plastic clip for combining the Legioss and Tread together in fighter mode makes a world of difference. With the extra clip attached to the metal docking bar, it becomes a rock-solid attachment and you can pick up the combined Legioss and Tread and zoom it around without fear. Without this extra clip, if you are just using the metal docking bar only, it is nothing but a froppy mess. 2. The long needle nose of the Legioss looks worse in online photos. In person, I hardly notice it. 3. Although the plastic of the toy is good quality, it looks cheap, like a $5 bootleg toy from China. It’s not about the plastic being glossy, as Yamato have shown it is possible to make gorgeous, expensive-looking gloss plastic on the VF-19 series. 4. The extra fixed-pose hands in the upgrade set really hold the gun well, unlike the standard articulated hands. Unfortunately, if you use the fixed pose hands I couldn’t get the arms fully retracted for fighter mode. Maybe I need to play around with positioning them in the forearm cavity more though. 5. On the subject of the hands, I found both the fixed-pose hands and articulated hands damn difficult to get onto the wrist pegs of both the Legioss and Tread. I had to push so hard that I thought I was going to break something getting the fists attached. 6. This really is a schizophrenic toy, on one hand you have some nice attention to detail in the some thin, model-quality panel lines, on the other hand you have cheap looking plastic and, obvious seam lines (on the head) and paint overspray (again on the head). And of course the incorrectly sculpted detail of the chest intakes and arm thrusters. 7. -Both Veef and Jenius (I think) used the term “half-assed” a lot in their reviews and I have to agree with that assessment. There’s some good points on this toy, such as it seems much more durable than the Toynami/Aoshima Legioss (well, it could hardly be less durable…..LOL!), but it looks fairly cheap and plastic. Although the Legioss doesn’t lock together well, although this is not as bad as I expected. 8. Both the Legioss and Tread can be transformed between modes easily, no real difficult areas. 9. Ratchet joints are nice and clicky, but some of the non-ratchet joints such as the rear of the Legioss’s feet are a bit lose and I had a bit of trouble getting the Legioss to stand up. 10. The leg missile doors are quite difficult to open and I had two of them pop off while trying to open them with my fingernail. 11. I thought the Legioss’s rear landing gear strut was on a pivot pin. It’s not! So when I tried to rotate it down more, I broke it off the rear landing gear bay door where it is glued in place…….whoops! Gotta go buy some super glue to glue it back. 12. Overall, I quite like the CM’s Legioss/Tread. Although it looks a bit cheap and plasticy, it still looks acceptable when combined in fighter mode (with the caveat that you use the upgrade connecting part). But after getting this blue one, I don’t think I will be buying the green one now. Still, there’s no way I would ever buy another Toynami Legioss. Graham
