  1. Thanks, although the pics look a bit stretched. Really loving the 'D' head sculpt. Graham
  2. Wanna see a close up of the VF-17D head from more angles, but liking what I see so far. And can't wait to see the FAST Packs on in Batroid mode. Graham
  3. Can one of the mods please post those pics on the front page and credit them to Noel. I just can't get this new fangled front page to work for me. Graham

  9. Yeah, I also prefer the design of Ray/Rand's integrated beam weapon over Stick/Scott's forearm missile launchers. Graham
  10. I'd say that the Macross 7 fleet (and other fleets) must have likely had more than 4 x VF-17. These extras would be needed to cover conversion training from VF-11C to VF-17, spare VF-17s if some are down for maintenance and also attrition replacements for those VF-17s lost in accidents or combat. Even though the Macross 7 fleet likely has the ability to build replacements VF-17s to cover combat losses, that would take time, so at least a small quantity of spare VF-17s would likley be held in reserve. We start the Macross 7 series seeing 2 x VF-17D and 1 x VF-17S. Physica takes over Dockers VF-17D after Docker is incapacitated, but then Physica's VF-17D is later destroyed. So there must have been at least 1 spare VF-17D held in reserve. Milia pilots a VF-17S in episode 21, which is painted red, but it is unclear if this is Kinryu's old VF-17S or another spare VF-17S. So I'd say that the Macross 7 fleet probably had 1 x VF-17S and 2 x VF-17D on active duty, probably a similar quantity held in reserve (or at least 1 x VF-17S and 1 x VF-17D) and a VF-17T for training duty to convert a cadre of the best VF-11C pilots as reserve/replacement pilots for Diamond force to replace casualties. I personally doubt the the VF-17T trainer was converted and given to Sound Force. More likely the VF-17TKai was purpose-built for Sound Force (please let me know if any source material contradicts this). Graham
  11. Are the Megahouse Ride Armor toys all PVC, or do the feature some ABS? Also, any diecast? The Megahouse Ride Armors seem really overpriced on evilbay. Graham
  12. Well, just bit the bullet and ordered one of those Rand Masterpiece Cyclones from evilbay. I would have prefered a Japanese Beagle, but the only ones I can find on evilbay HK are going for insane prices. Graham
  13. I have sent Yamato many emails over the past few weeks about both the VF-4 and VF-17, but no replies, which is strange But sometimes they do have long periods when they stay out of touch. The longest was 6 months. It's weird, sometimes I get several calls or emails a week and then sometimes nothing for ages. Anyway, I have made them aware of all the various issues with the VF-4 computer art. Whether they act on them is up to them. Graham
  14. Hi Sketchley, So only 718 VF-17 produced in total. Quite a small number. Graham
  15. No idea. But wanna know more. Graham
  16. For those members in Hong Kong, I saw quite a lot of the renewal VF-25S at Ins-Point in Yau Ma Tei yesterday, but all were HK$2K+. I even saw a YF-29 in Ins-Point, but didn't even bother asking the price. Also saw a couple of VF-25S in 188 Center in Wanchai yesterday, but also priced at HK$2K+ Graham
  17. That's cus I bought all the ones in HK But seriously, about two weeks ago, I saw one in Animate in Mong Kok, in the branch that's in that building accross the street from CTMA Center. If I recall correctly, the price was just over $2K. Dunno if it's still there now. The also had a VF-19S for just under $2K. Graham
  18. There's many things I'd like to see from Yamato before we see a renewal version of the YF-21/VF-22, such as: 1/60 Full Armoured Thunderbolt. 1/60 VF-2SS with SAP. 1/60 VF-2JA. 1/35 Legioss. A renewal version 1/60 YF-19. A renewal version 1/60 VF-0S/A. 1/60 VF-0D normal & Shin colors. 1/60 Fz-109A/F. 1/60 VF-5000B. 1/60 VF-3000. 1/60 VA-3M. With the need to keep the fighter mode slim, I don't think there is too much that could be done to bulk up the battroid mode of the YF-21/VF-22. The only real improvements I'd like to see are: Locking landing gear. Locking chest in battroid mode. better parts fitting and reduced gaps for the belly plates and other small hinged doors. Nicer sculpted gunpods. Graham
  19. I dunno, quite enjoyed watching that with my son. I really liked the Alien dog with his acid pee Graham
  20. Yep, same for me, the thing that first attracted me to Macross, before I even new what Macross was was the Takani box art. Back in 82 or more likely 83 (I forget exactly), a lot of UK toy and model shops started stocking the Arai and Imai Macross model kits and I was just blown away by the amazing box art and mecha designs. I'd love to have the original of Takani's Wave 1/72 VF-17 vinyl kit box art. Graham
  21. Two currently on display (my first of which I accidently damaged the sharp points on the LERX through my carelessness ) The other 2 are 'just in case' spares The VF-17 is my all time favorite VF. Graham
  22. Just curious, how is Harmony Gold actually making money these days? Graham
  23. If they released 30 issues with all new content, I'd buy them for sure. They could just call it Macross Chonicle Part II, or something. But I'm damned if I'm buying 80 issues of an expanded release when I already own 60% of the content. That's a lot of money to spend again. Graham
  24. Yay! Was actually just going to send you a remnder about this, Sketchley, but then saw your post. Graham
