That looks awesome. The DYRL Nousjadeul-Ger is probably my favorite Zentradi mecha design. I don't normally buy and build model kits these days, but in lieu of any Nousjadeul-Ger toy, I'm definitely gonna get this kit.

What worries me is that this is a further sign that moving forward, Bandai's DX design team is just going to half-ass things more and more with the DX line. We already saw this to a certain extent with some of the design choices on the YF-21 and with the VF-17S, they have gone into full on lazy and cost saving mode.

Awesome. That is a must have book.

General Sci-fi designs across various media

It always annoys me that we have never had (as far as I know) a detailed, mass produced Gunstar collectable toy. -
Marvel Studios TV Shows and Animation on Disney+

At this stage, I'm pretty much keeping D+ just for Macross, Clone Wars, Rebels, Bad Batch and SW movies 1-6.- 1546 replies

The Arcadia VF-1 and SDF-1 toys are most likely made using the old tooling from Yamato days. So basically, Arcadia just needs to get enough money from pre-orders to pay whatever factory they are using in China for the material and labor to make the toys and then get them shipped from the factory. Whereas the VF-5000G is an all new design and requires new tooling which is a major manufacturing expense. If as I expect, Arcadia is stuggling financially, it take them a long time to save enough funds to get the tooling for the VF-5000G made.

It's not just the gunpod stowage that is so very, very wrong. The shape and panel lines/detailing of the legs and backplate are totally, completely wrong according to the VF-17 full detail lineart. The head cowl an is also incorrect as are shoulders with their lack of twin Micro-missile launchers. Being a huge Macross 7 fan since 1994 and given that the VF-17D/S is one of my all-time favorite VFs, it really annoys me that Bandai has cheaped out so much on the DX VF-17S. Frankly, it also sets a bad precedent for future DX releases.

Never been a fan of the Brutishdog, as I've always felt that that it was pretty silly having that heavy Gatling gun on the arm being fed from that tiny little stick magazine. Yeah, I know it carries spare mags dispensed from the backpack, but given the large calibre of the gun and the small size of the mags, the mag capacity has gotta be miniscule. The Brutishdog is usually the one Scopedog toy or model that I never buy. 😅

I defintely prefer the shape of the Bandai DX. The drooping nose of the Arcadia looks pretty bad in the side by side comparison pics.

That is awesome custome work.

I'm really liking the Walkure emblem on the tail fins on this reissue.

If I remember correctly from when I tried putting on the Super parts on the Kairos, it's not the canards that cause the problem with fitting the chest armor, it's the two panels on either side of the head, the ones that have the fold crystal on a Sigfried.
