Or maybe a lobster with Roy Focker decals? Like the face of Roy Focker? … but, a lobster in 1/144 would be super tiny, right?
-
I bet we get to see a Fokker D.VII in Roy Focker colors. Focker in a Fokker hahaha.

I got that YF-19. just above the YF-21 in my stash now. and here a little box shot of what is in the YF-21 box.

wow man ... that is awesome! Almost like Shuishi Hayashi

Nice build! This would be something great for the workbench thread
-
haha! Great man! Even with all the set backs, you got it done! Congratulations!

That would require PLAMAX to tool a new nose, cockpit and canopy. Let's see if they are gonna do it

@MechTech Been a while since I've build one (last one around 2005ish I think). But yeah ... the dope job went kinda bad. Eze Dope low odor makes those white stains. I later read on the internet that one should thin it with water first and then spray it on. Silly me just brushing away like with classic Graupner dope (the super smelly one). I'll know for next time. @arbit I actually did somewhen in the 90s. Those planes were lost to gravity. @Goodman Models yeah, quite the fun there. Good I had a bit of glue with me, as some parts flew off during the fun hahaha. @pengbuzz Good to see you back in the game As this was this much fun, my kid urged me to glue together another kit that was sitting dormant in my basement. This thing goes way back... I think it was originally issues somewhen in the 1980s. It was sitting in my families favourite hobby store for a while as some parts were missing. My brother purchased it for DM 9.99 (around EUR 5.00) in March 1999. I later inherited it by giving him my started BF-109 1/12 dog fight plane (fuselage done, stabilizers done and wings done, just had to be equipted with stuff). Anywere, pictures speak more than words. It is a lightweight plane made to be equipted with a CO2 engine. Basically an engine that runs on those cream suspender CO2 catridges. The fuselage is made from styrofoam pressed into shape. Funfact: The wing ribs are molded from plastic. The blueprints. Now something I am really annoyed about. There was supposed to be a German translation to the instructions. Stuff is in Czech language ... I know 5 languages, but none of them are Czech ... anyway. It isn't too much of a hassle, though. Started with the left wing today. It is a horribly slow build as the wood is warped and has to be but back into shape with water and an iron. I will build it and leave openings for micro RC servos. I have a small 2S brushless engine and an ESC flying around that will fit this thing.

Just saw this on 1999. The whole original buttom fuselage cover is replaced by the new cover with the fast pack molded onto it.

YF-21 with Fast Pack and Fold Booster went to private warehouse notice

Almost done with my vintage rubberband kit. Canopy missing and some stuff on the gear as well as the lacquer stuff to tense up the paper on the nose. PS: wanted to show you guys this thing. one huge waterslide decal. Man… that‘ll be a hassle. edit: okay, another day. Basically ready to fly now.

Oh man ... the boosters - that subtle blueish-green. Nerdgasm

dude ... they forgot the YF-21 with fold booster release hahaha -
Best of luck man!

@wm cheng that is aweful man… my rule: never do lacquer colour on top of acrylics.
-
Argh… I wish you all the best then and hope you can make it. may the odds be forever in your favour.

aww man ... I remember back then, when I was super broke. I basically lived off of cheap ramen (that YumYum Shrimp stuff) for 3.5 years. I couldn't purchase anything else. I had squeezed every last cent out of a Euro, just to make it over the month. Having no money (or very little money) is like the inflation right now. You are struggling to make ends meet. Best thing to do is to halt everything that isn't necessary, and work your way out of it. That is what I did in the end. I am not saying it is easy. It is really hard. I was doing 14 hour shifts a day, on a crappy paid job, and did every side gig I could just to have a plus at the end of the month on my bank account. The worst thing you can do, is to give up. Staying positive and motivated to do all that hard work is not easy as well, but there is no way around.

@wm cheng thanks! and man, that ostrich looks nice. Now I wanna build mine too, but I got that F-14, the VF-171EX, and the balsa plane in the pipeline at the moment. @Gabe Q Yeah, I do RC stuff quite often. I am a all in one model hobbyist. Plastic injection kits, RC kits and H0 trains hahaha. (and even Lego/Brick models as a quick "trip"). @pengbuzz I see you dotting there (...) - everything okay?

Haven‘t been posting in a while. I started building a „re-issue“ of a modellkit from the 1970s, originating from communist Germany! When I was a little annoyance (read hyperactive kid) I build this thing over and over again. It is run by a jolly ol’ rubberband engine. Anyway, pictures.
