  1. I am in the same boat as you, all of the hobby shops here have gone out of business and I had to revert to shopping online. The 2 places I use online are Micromark.com (for most of the tools I need) and megahobby.com (for paints) Good luck
  2. I wish I could afford 2 now! sigh Looking beautiful.
  3. Im in for one!
  4. Anyone know if the small beads used for the lines on the road way can be bought small enough to be used when painting?
  5. The 1/48 ultimate resin kit has them.
  6. Living in NC and am in Software QA/Testing now.
  7. Uh... Ya! They just like to see which you prefer more, her or them
  8. I started with Robotech when I was in Middle School in the early 80's. The first model I ever had was a 1/100 factory from arii from KB toys for $20.00. Moved to another state, grew up and then joined the military and never seen it again until I got on the internets after I was married in the mid 90's and found out where Robotech originated. Found hlj.com and Macross world was a newsgroup back then, before Shawn and Graham started MacrossWorld.com. Man those were the days. Not long afterward I had to take a hiatus when the kids were really young, The 0-3 years age because all the money was diverted to milk and diapers and me going to college to get a degree. And while waiting until I could find my time and space again, all of my beautiful resin models/kits and toys were destroyed by either a cat or a kid. I started slowly back again over the past couple of years and my poor closet (thank goodness I have my own huge walk in closet now) is packed full with yamato's and every model kit I can get a hold of. The wife has been great with it all and lets me have my free time and buy my toys. So long as I give her some of my time, take care of the bills and bring home the bacon and be a good parent/role model, she is good with what I do. She actually tries to take interest in it with me although she doesnt care for it. I have yet to get any of the newer v2.0 yamato's but I am about to purchase the 21/22 and am postponing as long as possible because of their price. So looking forward to the new Hase 1/48 VF-1! There is a shed out back that's 150-200 sq ft that I have to fix up to make it my Shrine for Macross and model building. Hard to do with all I have to catch up on buying while doing projects around the house as well. Whew that was alot! To those with small kids...stick with it. The kids are great and will eventually be the excuse to keep buying toys
  9. What kind of glue did you use to bond the styrene to the resin? Great job on it btw! I was just working on a resin kit and I need to do a build up on the wings for a good natural fit, and was afraid of using styrene because of creating a good enough bond. I normally either use super glue or epoxy for bonding resin parts, but I never have to sand those areas and was afraid either may have given me to many issues with sanding with the styrene.
  10. It is a beauty. I will be getting one or two and when the FP comes out get a couple of those. Maybe we can see a PE set for it as well
  11. Thanks for the tips nightmare, I will definitely try some of these. Especially for the paint brushes.
  12. It has been a while since I have had to, but I will have to try Pinesol next time I need to remove paint again.
  13. Im definitely interested
  14. Man. You will need to make some more for us, or let someone borrow the molds
  15. With the Canopies, it is very hard to tell with the light, and I can tell the slightest difference. But could be the light as well
  16. I agree with AcroRay. Brake Fluid overnight does it for me for the tough jobs, have had to let soak twice one time, but it works great. I have used Oven Off and it is pretty quick compared to Brake Fluid, but is strong and quite hazardous to your lungs. Brake Fluid can be put in a bowl and just sit their without as much worry as Oven Off.
  17. One looks a little thinner than the other and the tabs in back to hold the canopy on a littler longer, I am going to go with one for open and one for closed
  18. Where do you get the YF-21 conversion from? I would love to have the 19 conversion as well.
  19. Its a pre-order. I have an order for 2 already
  20. I had that kit at one point and built it before the cat found its way on top of the shelf it was displayed. I didn't know their was a different one. The only rare kit I have yet to find that I want is the 1/48 YF-21. Any one know where one is at :-)
  21. Im interested in the initial run. I have been lurking and following. Awesome progress!
  22. 1/24 kit by Arii, if I remember right it was made mostly of a ceramic material and plastic. http://www.hlj.com/product/ARI30111 No longer called Arii, interesting.
  23. SWEET! Can't wait.
  24. Are you offering the decals? I dont see them listed, but you have it flashing on the main Page.
  25. Here you go MT. Sorry for the crappy pics, it was very hard to get anything good because the parts are so small. Quite a few pieces were made in the same mold, but the detail on the parts are awesome for there scale. The parts have a lot of flashing as well, which is going to be a pain to get rid of without cracking the parts, but the resin is a descent hard yet flexible resin. it does not seem to be the cheap fragile resin. I think he did well, but this kit is definitely for an expert modeler, simply because of it small size and the flashing you have to deal with.
