  1. I heard bad things about the second movie from some friends, and was planning to wait to pick it up from Netflix. But now I think I may go see it after all.
  2. May I suggest to you Yojimbo, Seven Samurai, and The Twilight Samurai.
  3. Actually, I do, and my knowledge isn't clouded by prejudice. But again, nothing to do with this movie. You like it because it fits with your world view, I get it. Thankfully, I was raised to judge everyone individually, and not on some stereotype or generalized notion of who "they" are. And thus I think Elysium its poorly written crap.
  4. I liked the robots No, and again, totally irrelevant to the topic at hand and the movie.
  5. You're strange (and a bit delusional). And we've probably spent more time talking about this comic than it deserves.
  6. The video has nothing to do with the topic at hand or anything you in the test of your post. The number one supplier of humanitarian aid in the world is the "wealthy" United States. Many of the world's largest charitable organizations and driven by, supported, and/l contributed to by the wealthy. Certainly, this does not apply to all nations or cultures, but that's my point--you can't paint all people with one broad brush.
  7. Classism in all forms is bad, and it's use in the film is unintelligent, unoriginal, and does little more than pander to those who seek that sort of conflict. The stereotypes portrayed here are no more accurate than the generalization that all otaku are enamored with sexualized pre-pubescent cartoon characters.
  8. There is nothing factual about the wealthy being innately bad or selfish.
  9. Got this from Netflix today. To be blunt, it's heavy-handed and nonsensical. I'm fully capable of suspending disbelief, but nearly every single major set piece had some sequence that left me scratching my head. And in case you missed Avatar, Elysium reiterates that all people of wealth are bad, and certainly won't lift a finger to help anyone but themselves (even when the means to heal the world are at their disposal and fully automated). What a disappointingly huge step backward from District 9.
  10. Rage? Huh? I'm just saying you completely lost me in those first five minutes.
  11. Not hating; I'm only a content consumer commenting. You won't ever catch me saying things like "Rowboattech" or "Whoremoney Gold."
  12. Couldn't get past the first five minutes of whining about a lack of respect for Carl Macek.
  13. http://wiialerts.com/get_categories.php?cid=16&cname=Sony%20PlayStation%204
  14. This discussion ended when we discovered Gunbuster was not on the list. Truly.
  15. Was simply tremendous in my favorite film, The Lion in Winter. I can't think of a single film that I didn't love him in.
  16. Has a really nice, goose bump-inducing buildup, but I am not quite sure what's going on with the scenes at the end. A little too vague, methinks, but it has my interest.
  17. No Gunbuster? LAWL. Whatever, man.
  18. Amazon had PS4s in stock a few days ago. My best friend picked up yet another one to sell on eBay.
  19. If by "He thought Into Darkness was great" you mean "he thought it was a bit of a mess," then you would be correct. I enjoyed the movie (aka I was entertained), but I certainly wouldn't buy it on Blu.
