  1. I finished the first season of Frieren: Beyond Journey's End. I thought the show was decent about 2/3's of the way through, but the last several episodes were really good. Changed my entire view on the season.
  2. Nice return to form with this episode. The show's good, yo. Viewership is going up for it every week.
  3. The new Ranma 1/2 is just delightful. I take some issue with the subs, but it's Netflix, so...
  4. I don't give a flying flarn about comic book movies. Like most of the movie-going public. I'm watching because The Penguin is a pretty good crime drama. If this show gains any real traction it's not because it's a comic book property.
  5. I would argue that because the show has been grounded is why it's doing as well as it is.
  6. The Arkham scenes were cartoonish and really don't fit with the rest of the show. The first real misstep in what has otherwise been a pretty good show.
  7. First review is up on Reddit. Person got it at NYCC. The discs are stored in the book, so anyone thinking of selling the book is going to have get cases for the discs. What a terrible choice.
  8. Watched Alien Romulus tonight. Wasn't terrible, but I doubt I'll ever watch it again. Edit: it's certainly no Prey
  9. What does Harming Gold have to do with it?
  10. Most of the voice cast from the original Ranma 1/2 is back for the remake series. Dig it.
  11. I'm a little more than halfway through Frieren: Beyond Journey's End. Solid show, but I think I was expecting a bit more from it given what I had read about it. I've also checked out the first episode of Dan Da Dan. Kinda bonkers in an interesting way. I'll keep watching.
  12. Picked up Furiosa: Black & Chrome Edition as part of the 4K 5-film Mad Max Collection, and it's the superior way to watch this movie. So much so that I think it should have been released in the theaters like this. It looks far less cartoonish and reduces the noticeability of CG.
  13. Dug the first episode of the new Ranma 1/2. Set in the 80s, so it's not been transposed into the 21st century.
  14. Well, that's a major reveal.
  15. The studio has already seen a rough cut of the film, if not the finished product. They're not going to make a decision based solely on hype.
  16. I'm sure that CS person had never heard of Macross.
  17. Ridley basically spoils the ending of the second movie here, but they just must have some crazy faith in this movie to already be talking about making a third. https://variety.com/2024/film/news/ridley-scott-gladiator-3-ideas-development-1236151985/
  18. I'm up to the end of 2202 and went looking for this, but it doesn't seem to be available. edit: check that, found it. Not sure if it has English subs, though
  19. I'm late to this party. I started watching 2022 last week on CR and am 9 episodes in. So far I am not enjoying it as much as 2199. 2202 just is a bit too convoluted. At least early on.
