    By "fans" you mean film reviewers? Because those are the people who are tweeting these things. And I'm not sure how you could think anyone would have blinders on after the prequels and special editions. We're in the jaded era.

    Trek was all but dead before JJ came on board, and the first reboot film reinvigorated the franchise. You'd have to be living in a fantasy world of denial to think otherwise.

    I enjoyed watching JJ, and Marvel is doing a solid job building its non-Avengers storyline on Netflix. I eagerly await DD season 2, and the addition of the Punisher.

    Not exactly sci-fi, but I tried watching American Ultra a few days ago; I turned it off after about a half hour. It's really pretty bad.

    Why show it at all? I'd have been pretty damned surprised in the theater to see him pop up as the baddie.It's fairly clear they want this movie to set up everything. Instead of doing it organically over several films, they're cramming it all into one.

    WTF is Jesse Eisenberg doing? I just... Wow, yeah, I'll be shocked if he's not nominated for a Razzie. Hell, the entire trailer was bad. Just no. And why spoil something like that in the trailer? Nonsensical. They might as well rename the movie at this point since it's not the major conflict.
