We can't discuss what we don't like about Macross 7 without being attacked. The real problem is, Macross 7 fans can't come up with any real defense for how bad it is. His suggestion is fay because he wants to do it out of personal interest, not out of any sense of fairness. Being a Macross 7 fan is a bit like being a Mets fan in NY... you are just going to have to deal with the fact that the majority of us are Yankees fans, and we are going to laugh at you because your team sucks.

I think the director's cut of Conan, where for the first time we see the movie widescreen since it was in theaters, is just EPIC. An amazing film when see the way it was intended to be seen. Portman has been playing the same character since "Leon The Professional". I became convinced of this after watching "Closer" last night. She's been one of the main faults of the prequel trilogy. Do you have any idea how many times I've done this "definitive poll"? The answer is the same every time, no mater what options you put in it... as long as Macross 7 is one of them, it is the least liked Macross series. You think these numbers look bad for 7, put it up against Plus, and watch 7 vanish in the rear view mirror.

Yes, according to Kawamori himself as of 1995, he had yet to watch Macross II. I'm guessing that if he had yet to watch Macross II by then, he probably hasn't since. He's a busy guy, and I doubt he really cares enough to watch it. Wow, and interview 10 years ago. Its amazing how he repeated many of the same ideas AND music in Macross 7 that were in Macross II. Obviously he had no clue where they came from!

Macross II will probably end up being most famous (or infamous) for being the inspiration behind Macross 7. Unfortunately, Kawamori's version wasn't anywhere near as good as the original, and that's not saying much.
