  1. Figured it was about time someone threw up a topic on the game, its only the biggest MMO on the planet. Anyone else play? Anyone tinkering around with The Burning Crusade expansion? It will be one year tomorrow since I first joined World of Warcraft, my first and only online game. The only game I play at all these days, actually.
  2. I've been reading user comments on the new DVDs over at OriginalTrilogy.com (home of just about every fan edit/restoration of Star Wars on the net), and they all seem pleasantly surprised and very happy with it. Is it exactly what they wanted? No, certainly not. Is it far better than they were expecting? Yes, and superior to any release, official or not, of the unaltered Trilogy.
  3. Its a cartoon. Deal with it. There is a reason why Law & Order is on at 10 at night, and this kinda stuff is shown at 4 in the afternoon. ITS FOR KIDS, NOT FOR YOU.
  4. Yes, lets all get up in arms about something aimed at 8 year olds. I mean, come on, does anyone think this is being developed with those who watched the original in mind?
  5. I can't say whether I truly like it or not, since I haven't watched an episode past number 3, and only parts of 6. What it comes down to, I think, is that we all want it to be Gunbuster, and its not. It also seems like they have gone back to the same well too many times here. And, in the end, no money shot. They left us in the same place they did the first time around. Part sequel, part re-imaging, part homage piece, I just don't think this one has the character or charm of the original. That's not to say its bad, I just think they missed the boat.
  6. I disagree, on both counts. The ending was pitch perfect with the rest of the film, and I would be totally shocked if Mann did a sequel to this film or any other. Had it ended any other way, I would have been disappointed.
  7. Personally, I thought the film was fantastic. Its a gritty, hard core cop film, without the Hollywood BS. It went far beyond my expectations. I'd go as far to say this is a better film than Heat.
  8. I'm another who saw it in the theater. I was 10 years old at the time. I flat out love the movie.
  9. Not happening. Carpenter has said this is not happening/never happened.
  10. No sir, I don't like it.
  11. Why? Chances are neither of these formats will stick. That would be foolish.
  12. Oh, and while Pixy is passable as a wingman, PJ is worthless. What's the point of evening having him there?
  13. Well, I finally picked it up 2 days ago. I finished it yesterday. Its way, way too short. It lacks any real semblence of a story. While going back to some of the AC standards (laser weapon, giant aircraft boss, flying through tunnels), they missed some of my favorites, such as real naval assaults and some great cityscape battles. Comparing Zero to 5 is like comparing Jedi Academy to Jedi Outcast... but then, neither 5 or Zero were what 4 was. Still, I found a whole lot more meat in 5 than in Zero. Its like half a game, and I wonder if that doesn't have something to do with the price. Course, I still love flying these damned planes, but its just lacking anything for me to really sink my teeth into.
  14. His last post was on Mar 31 2006, 06:03 PM. I am curious as to what he could have done while not posting to warrant this. Then again, I suspect this to be some sort of joke. If not, then I really have to wonder about this, because it seems rather childish. Its not witty or funny. Or even clever. If you're going to ban him, ban him, and close his membership.
  15. Which is fine with me. I only ever wanted one version: the originals. Now I'll have those. I don't need anything else.
  16. Bills, for the win, over a $600 gaming console.
  17. I guess its an age thing. Those of us who saw them in the theaters, who grew up knowing them one way, want to be able to see them that way again. For us, the SE films detract from the experience, not add to it.
  18. Yeah, I can get the PS3 cheaper than that, but I really think I am going to pass on it. I'll be 30 when this thing hits, and I just don't think I should be spending that much money on something to play video games on. Nintendo is looking more and more appealing all the time.
  19. The SDF Macross DVD set. What was that for pre-orders? $260? $280?
  20. The Ogre team can do no wrong in my eyes. I have no doubt that this game will be nothing short of amazing.
  21. I haven't picked this up yet, and haven't even really been following the thread (except for an occasional post). How are you guys finding the game? I'm a big fan of the series, just haven't gotten around to pick this one up yet.
  22. Excuse me, but what is "arnies airsoft"? Whatever it is, I assure you I don't post there. I use Duke Togo on the two Macross sites, a Civilization site, and two computer hardware sites. If you see the name anywhere else, its most likely not me.
  23. Nothing to see here...
  24. Here is an idea: Action, Adventure, & Anime Boom! Forum renamed, problem solved. Cars, guns, movies, video games, and anime... all covered under this umbrella.
